Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted July 1, 2002 Who's been to camp! I've never been to summer camp...but for two years in a row my school sent a bunch of us to this camp deal for 5 days or so. 5 SCHOOL days, this is 4th and 5th grade. It was great...the rich kids had to pay like $200...and anyone who wasn't overly wealthy got in for free, what a concept! While the camp was boring and lame mostly (I was expecting it to be just like Salute Your Shorts), it was 5 days out of school...and that's in between 2 weekends, that's 9 days off in May. The only fun there was the stuff we weren't allowed to do, collecting frogs and letting them lose at lunch, taking dead fish and putting it under someone else's matress (in another cabin of course). One kid got sent home after almost burning down a canoe...and two more got kicked out for chucking rocks off a hill onto cars in the parking lot. The lame crap they wanted us to do was nature walks and collecting scummy stuff from their pond, blah blah blah... The trip ended with an all out waterbaloon war...good times. I'm just really bored so I decided to post.
Guest godthedog Report post Posted July 1, 2002 i used to go to a southeast lutheran camp called affirm, from 7th to 12th grade. easily the best experience of my teenage years, & the site of my first kiss. i always told myself that i'd become a counselor after becoming too old to go, but after graduation i had a crisis of belief (which i'm still going through), so i can't really do it now. Guest Ace309 Report post Posted July 1, 2002 I spent a week or so at American Legion Boys' State, which counts, I suppose. Also, a weekish stint at Bruce Baumgartner's Edinboro wrestling camp.
