The Revival Show

This show was excellent, it really showed that British wrestling can stand up to the likes of WWF. but as of yet ( i may be wrong) I have seen no posts about this.

 

Its was build as the greatest night of british wrestling and it lived up to that. thesmarks.com did not cover/review/mention it at all. Is this simply because nobody knew about the show or what?

 

Jodi Flash vs Joni Storm was one of the best matches ever had at a British event, well worth *****!

Bwahahahahahahahahahah...oh, you were serious. It was a complete spot fest, and the rest of the card was average at best. For a better match, try Doug Williams-Chris Daniels from Crunch. Hell, the TLC match Fleisch and Storm had at WrestleXpress was better.

 

Seriously, I attended the event, and it was just like the majority of indies currently in business. Brawling, out of place high spots, and Russo-ish booking. Tommy Boyd's pathetic attempt at promoting himself as the British version of Vince McMahon is embarrassing, and don't get me started on Alex "Five Moves" Shane and the same falls-count-anywhere match he has at every FWA show. The only highlights of the night were Doug Williams' performance (who needs to get his ass to Japan ASAP) and the appearance of the Dynamite Kid. The rest of the card was poorly booked, with short matches and no redeeming value what so ever. British wrestling still has a long way to go, and I say that as a fan of the FWA and British wrestling.

No one ever heaqrd of this. Plus wrestling isn't big in England. Jodi and Joni? They sounds like a pair of twin centerfolds. No one's going to take them seriosuly.

Fleisch and Storm was only ** or **1/2. The best matchs were Williams/Eddy and Williams/Fleisch. The ending of the matchs was badly booked, they had a ref bump in nearly every one. I agree about Tom Boyd.

I still enjoyed the show i just wish they gave Eddy/Williams around 25mins.

Revival was an AWESOME show, the best that has graced British shores in YEARS! Practically every match was enjoyable, entertaining and featured a good level of wrestling in it, whilst not alienating casual fans. Tommy Boyd may have attempted to put himself over as the British Vince McMahon, but the fans sure seemed to respond to what he was doing. Alex "Five Moves" Shane has improved as a wrestler AMAZINGLY, and is consistently fun to watch, whilst frequently threatening to become Britain's first break out superstar. Cries of "Show!" echoed throughout the arena that night.

And the two wrestlers who sound like a pair of twin centerfolds, Jody Fleisch and Jonny Storm are two of the best wrestlers in the UK. Stating that they will never be taken seriously due to their names is pathetic, as wrestlers named Horseshu and Shark Boy seem to be somewhat respected in Indy wrestling circles. And stating that their match was a spot fest may be correct, but it was hardly the kind of spot fest with huge ten minute waits in between each spot. And who said a spot fest was bad anyway? Their match was fast paced, with incredible moves and no waiting OR blown spots, was described by none other than Bill Apter (who was on hand to photograph the matches) as "As good as Rey vs Juvi at their best."

In fact he stated that Revival as a whole was the best Indy show he's been to in the last 20 years, which is really blowing any accusations of the night being "average" out of the water.

The atmosphere was electric, the fans were pumped and the end of the night, featuring the Dynamite Kid presenting the award to Jody Fleisch (also known as Docca Chan who wrestled for Michinoku Pro) was one of the most incredible moments I have ever experienced.

Will Bravo be showing the event in full? It sounded like an entertaining show and after watching No Way Out i could do with seeing something good to take me through to Wrestlemania. I know it's on March 3rd at 8pm, are they going to show it all or just an hours worth of heavily clipped highlights?

Well it won't be the entire show, nor will it be an hours highlights..... I believe they have booked a two hour slot, allowing for lots of whole matches plus I'm sure a couple of edited highlights. And rest assured, if the Bravo showing is anything like the live event it will be good.

They are showing around 2hours of it according to the Observer. The actual show was near 3 1/2 hours. I hope they show they the best matches in full rather than clips of everything.

The first round matches will be highlighted plus the rest of the event in full... Its a 2 hour time slot.

I can't wait to watch it.  I was unabel to go, and I definately want to see what appears to have become one of the most talked about Britsih shows ever!
