Guest TheSmarkzone Report post Posted July 1, 2002 I'm gonna go with the original Hell in the Cell match, The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels. Not only did that match totally revolutionize the cage match, not only was it an instant ***** classic, not only was it one of the most brutal matches in WWE history, it pretty much defines The Undertaker's character. If a non-wrestling fan wanted to know who The Undertaker was and you could only pick one match to "enlighten" him or her, this would probably be your best pick. Prior to Badd Blood, Taker had been a dominant force in the WWE, but this was the first time that he "made someone famous". Ground Zero was the first time that we got a glimpse of the pissed-off, take-no-prisoners Deadman, and Hell in the Cell was kind of the official coming-out party. Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted July 1, 2002 Yep, Hell in a Cell. Although I'd give an honorable mention to his match with Mankind at Summerslam '96.
Guest eiker_ir Report post Posted July 1, 2002 agreed with Hell in a Cell..... bye
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted July 1, 2002 HIAC is Taker's best match but it's a horrible representation of what he is today. HBK carried Taker through that match and Taler has never even come close to that level. If you wanted to "elighten someone as to what Taker is show them KOTR because that as good as he gets, sadly. Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted July 1, 2002 I have to go with HIAC I because HBK made Undertaker look like God, despite the shitty ending.....
Guest RetroRob215 Report post Posted July 1, 2002 Well his best match besides HIAC would be vs. HBK @ Ground Zero followed by vs. Austin @ SummerSlam.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted July 1, 2002 HIAC #1 here as well. Can't think of anything that stands out that doesn't involve Shawn, Foley or Austin.

Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted July 1, 2002 OFF TOPIC: Do we really need a "Best Match Thread" for all the different wrestlers? I would say Taker's match with HBK in the Cell was his best.
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted July 1, 2002 You know, I really didn't like Austin/Taker from Summerslam '98. Taker had the presence of mind to know that he had to do something really jaw-dropping to make this worth the build-up, but he didn't know how to capatlize off of it to make the match good. The last five minutes of this in particular are just really ugly. I hate to say this, but having never seen Bad Blood '97, ground zero, or any of the Bret matches, I have to say my favorite is Vs. Diesel at Mania XII. I guess a second would be Vs. HHH at Mania X7 last year.
