Guest dreamer420 Posted July 4, 2002 Report Posted July 4, 2002 how long was he actually with the wwf?
Guest RetroRob215 Posted July 4, 2002 Report Posted July 4, 2002 All that were Coliseum Exclusives. So they weren't necessarily clipped out, it's just that Coliseum added them in. That explains most of the missing footage.
Guest dreamer420 Posted July 4, 2002 Report Posted July 4, 2002 it sucks that coliseum's exclusive footage will not get to be seen again.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted July 4, 2002 Report Posted July 4, 2002 I have the set which includes Wrestlemania XV. Piper's Pit is definitely on the Wrestlemania V tape from that collection.
Guest dreamer420 Posted July 4, 2002 Report Posted July 4, 2002 it wasn't exclusive footage though. it should be on any copy of wrestlemania 5
Guest RetroRob215 Posted July 4, 2002 Report Posted July 4, 2002 I bought WM V as an individual tape. When I first watched it I was SO PISSED and I still am.
Guest nWoScorpion Posted July 4, 2002 Report Posted July 4, 2002 Degeorge was around for maybe a little less then 2 years. He resembled Sean Mooney kinda.
Guest MillenniumMan831 Posted July 4, 2002 Report Posted July 4, 2002 The decent thing about DeGeorge is that he kind of knew he sucked, but still did what he could anyways. He took the ball-busting from the heels in stride as well. On the contrary, I HATED Sean Mooney!!! His commentay SUCKED BALLS!!! No wit, no humor, no knowledge, no charisma, no chemistry with any of the other announcers, & no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
Guest nWoScorpion Posted July 4, 2002 Report Posted July 4, 2002 Mooney & Hayes = worst PBP duo EVER! Hayes: Great camera work!!
Guest dreamer420 Posted July 4, 2002 Report Posted July 4, 2002 Mooney & Hayes = worst PBP duo EVER! Hayes: Great camera work!! lol. that is true. i have a few coliseum videos where they call the action and it makes me laugh now. hayes did suck and his favourite thing was pointing out what a great shot he was being provided with.
Guest nWoScorpion Posted July 4, 2002 Report Posted July 4, 2002 That right there shows that the commentary is aded in, cause I NEVER heard anyone mention a camera angle during a match before. Valentine vs. taker: Hayes: What great camera work by our camera man!
Guest dreamer420 Posted July 5, 2002 Report Posted July 5, 2002 there is no question that the commentary was dubbed in later by the wwf and coliseum video. i find it odd that they choose some of the commentators they did to call this "exclusive action" when they had gorilla, jesse, heenan, and even mcmahon. they were all better than the 80's version of tazz and cole.
Guest MillenniumMan831 Posted July 5, 2002 Report Posted July 5, 2002 Even worse, they would make mention of the weather in whatever city they were in. "Hmmm. . .an unseasonable cool night here at Fresno, California, Lord." "Yesssss indeed, but our Coliseum Exclusives are sure to heeeeat things up Sean." Plus, I swear, on every 1991-92 Coliseum Video, there was at least one match involving either The Nasty Boys and/or The Mountie.
Guest RetroRob215 Posted July 5, 2002 Report Posted July 5, 2002 I always wondered why they would put such horrible matches on the Coliseum videos. Didn't they want to sell them, therefore more than one of the matches should have been good on each tape. Just imagine if the WWE released videos like those now.
Guest DEEP THOUGHT Posted July 5, 2002 Report Posted July 5, 2002 "What great work by our Coliseum Video cameramen, our Coliseum Video EXCLUSIVE cameramen, taking you right inside the ring..you cannot get any closer than that!" Hayes whenever there was a close-up of ANYTHING in the ring.
Guest Michael Joel Benoit Posted July 5, 2002 Report Posted July 5, 2002 Damn, the WWF Wrestlemania box set with 15 doesn't include Piper's pit. I just saw it yesterday, and I checked and yep no Piper's pit despite them showing a picture of it in the back of the box!

Guest nWoScorpion Posted July 5, 2002 Report Posted July 5, 2002 WWF Fans didn;t care for actual in ring skills until 1992-93 (the ealiest) and we would watch anything they sent out.
Guest Choken One Posted July 8, 2002 Report Posted July 8, 2002 I just watched WMV three days ago, and It includes the Piper Pit (This was from the box set). However, I brought it indiviudally.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 Damn, the WWF Wrestlemania box set with 15 doesn't include Piper's pit. I just saw it yesterday, and I checked and yep no Piper's pit despite them showing a picture of it in the back of the box! Its there on my set. Wrestlemania: The Legacy, which includes Wrestlemania I-XV.
Guest JMTapes Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 Getting back to clipping etc., the '99 version of WM VII includes the entrances which were clipped on the CV version (Demolition, Santana, Mountie, etc.) and includes the hilariously bad Instant Replay Debate. I was so pumped when I saw those entrances, because I thought they didn't exist on tape. -Jim www.jmtapes.com
Guest RetroRob215 Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 Maybe the lack of the Piper segment is a rare screwup or something.

Guest MillenniumMan831 Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 I'm assuming it was intermission (seemingly died w/ Closed Circuit) for the live crowd and Vince needed some time filler. I thought it was cute for what it was. The same thing happened in SummerSlam 1988 when Okerlund had a looooong boring interview w/ Sugar Ray Leonard and Gorilla showed some clips of Survivor Series 1987 to hype Survivor Series 1988 which was still three friggin months away.
Guest nWoScorpion Posted July 9, 2002 Report Posted July 9, 2002 Coliseum Video clipped WM 7 so bad. The national anthem, Demolitio,n Kitao & Tenryu, Earthquake, Greg Valentine, Tito Santana, Rick Martel, The Mountie and Warlord's entrances were not shown. (warlord may have came during a Bulldog promo so i mnot sur eon him.) Plus about 7-8 interviews were cut AND the instant replay, plus the Virgil/Dibiase & Hogan/Slaughter video packages. DAMN thats alot.
Guest MillenniumMan831 Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 I don't have the Coliseum Version of WMVII anymore, but didn't Slaughter cut a rambling 5-7 minute promo followed by an entranceless 90 second Mountie/Santana match followed by another 5-7 minute promo by Hogan? I'd swear if Santana hadn't of worked the first six WMs going in , they'd of probably dropped the match entirely. Can you imagine that happening today? The Game getting his long-ass interview then seeing Steven Richards vs. Matt Hardy go for a minute seguing right into The Undertaker cutting his own lifeless dribblriffic promo.
