Ozzy

With the short week there are only a few of us in the office this week. For some reason I brought in some Black Sabbath rehearsal tapes from around 1970. The shit gives me goose bumps. I haven’t taken a close listen to this stuff in years and it is just amazing. I am personally sick and tired of all the Ozzy bashing that has been going on. Calling him too old a sellout whatever. I’ll tell you what, Ozzy has been doing his thing since before most of you were a cum stain in your mom’s fruit of the looms. 30+ years and the mutherfucker has never written a song to get a top 40 hit, never. He has done his way. Sure he has written some ballads and softened the sound lately but that’s just a reflection of who he is today. He is at peace and deserves everything he is getting. If you want to bash anyone, bash Sharon. The guy is a legend, and unlike some older rockers can still pull off a great show (***** for you smarks). Lay off Ozzy cause the man has more than paid his dues.

I too listened too my old skool ozzy stuff and my sabbath comp for the first time in a while, and my GOD sabbath were amazing. I was lucky enough to catch the video for sabbath bloody sabbath on some classic rock channel the other day too. Ozzy is the first music i ever got really into, when i was about 11. He still rules.

The weird thing is that Ozzy is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, yet Black Sabbath isn't

Why blame Sharon? If you want to blame anyone for anything, blame Kelly... she's the talentless leech who's getting a shot simply because of her bloodline and "The Osbournes" TV show.

Oh, and even though it has nothing to do with the post, none of us would be "cum stains in our mother's fruit of the looms"... we'd be the come that made it into the womb :P

Also, even though I personally like Black Sabbath, the only reason you gave that Ozzy should be "a legend" is that he's been doing it a long time. Just because you've been doing it a long time doesn't mean you've been doing it right... hell, Roger Corman's been involved in films for almost 50 years now and you'd be hard-pressed to find many who would call him a legend, unless the phrase "...arily awful" was attached.

Not to be pedantic, but Ozzy is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist. He released his first solo album, Blizzard of Ozz, in 1980 which means he'll be eligible for induction in 2005. More importantly, however, Ozzy has stated on several occasions that he doesn't feel that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame means anything and has petitioned to have Black Sabbath removed from the ballot. I'm sure he'll do the same when it's time for him to be nominated.

The thing about Sabbath that I never could understand was why they decided to kick Ozzy out of the group in the first place. I mean, they were doing great with Ozzy until Never Say Die and then they just kicked him out. It's not like they could've thought Dio, Martin or Gillan could've ever been as good as Ozzy.

Ah well, I'm just glad that Ozzy was able to turn his life around after they booted him out and eventually become more successful than those chumps. At least he didn't go the Axl Rose route.

Never said Ozzy was a legend for doing it a long time. If he is a legend then it's for albums like "Blizzard of Ozz", "Dairy of a Madman", and "No Rest for the Wicked". The first two are some of the greatest collections of rock songs the metal community has ever had.

Why blame Sharon?

Just because it's just somebody unlikeable to bash but I do wish her well. I hear she'll make a complete recovery. Nobody deserves to be stricken with cancer of any kind.

I hope she makes a quick and full recovery as well... I was just wondering if there was any specific incident(s) I never heard about why people are "supposed to hate" Sharon. There was her managing feud with Billy Corgan, but that's all I can think of.
