Guest PlatypusFool Posted February 17, 2002 Report Posted February 17, 2002 I was just browsing some photos of wrestlers and I was just wondering what you guys think is the best photograph of a wrestler or group of wrestlers out there, from either an artistic view point or a more basic aesthetic enjoyment? Personally, I think the image of Keientai performing their special pose on Naniwa is damn close to the best, just because it artistically shows a stable in wrestling history everyone should be aware of... http://www.geocities.com/carnage_509/togoteiohkaz01.jpg Hope the link works... anyway, what does everyone reckon?
Guest Jubuki Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 I dunno...something about that... it just speaks for itself.
Guest HopeSpot Posted February 18, 2002 Report Posted February 18, 2002 There's a picture of Owen and Bret hugging after a victory during the Hart Foundation days. If I can find it I'll post it, it pretty much sums up what pro wrestling should be IMO.
Guest dr deaf Posted February 19, 2002 Report Posted February 19, 2002 good picture, dumbe question: Who is that?
Guest CB2M Posted February 19, 2002 Report Posted February 19, 2002 good picture, dumbe question: Who is that? It's the new IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Tadao Yasuda
Guest MRFTW Posted February 20, 2002 Report Posted February 20, 2002 wouldn't call it the best or anything but it's certainly...interesting isn't it? http://cherrybabe.com/michiku/gallery/dump-a.html
Guest NineSpiral Posted February 21, 2002 Report Posted February 21, 2002 well, here's my favorite. it's from Masanori Horie's site - and showcases the magic that is All Japan Pro Wrestling. dunno how it's gonna show up here, but I hope it does - if not here's the link. it's a picture of Steve Williams giving the Backdrop Driver (arguably the nastiest, sickest move ever in pro wrestling) http://www.geocities.com/masanor....994.jpg how is this relevant from an artistic standpoint? well, you have to be quite the artist at your craft to take this kind of stupid bump.

Guest gizmo Posted February 23, 2002 Report Posted February 23, 2002 The backdrop driver pick isn't working for me, does anyone else have a pic or a video clip of it, because i have never seen it.
Guest NineSpiral Posted February 23, 2002 Report Posted February 23, 2002 no, the match doesn't as well as some others. but for a single photograph to show just how extreme the bumps were (let's face it, you're not going to get the psychology of a misawa/kawada classic in a still photo!) it serves pretty good. Jason
Guest PlatypusFool Posted February 23, 2002 Report Posted February 23, 2002 Gizmo, theres a clip here called 'Steve Williams gives Kobashi a homocide backdrop' which is the most vicious and horrible video EVER... http://iwlfed.hypermart.net/clips.html
Guest WWF4Life Posted February 24, 2002 Report Posted February 24, 2002 Holy Shit!!! That's insane!! That move is brutal...is that what most All Japan matches are like, or are there different styles?
Guest Black Tiger Posted February 24, 2002 Report Posted February 24, 2002 Here is a great one of Jyushin Lyger http://www.twc-online.com/herb/Pics/98series/njliju01.jpg
Guest PlatypusFool Posted February 24, 2002 Report Posted February 24, 2002 Black Tiger - that is quite a swifty photo of the Lyger man - i do love him WWF4Life - The dangerous / homicidal backdrop is just one of the nasty head-dropping finishers employed by the AJPW wrestlers, but, describing the matches as being like that all the time is wrong. A typical AJ match will build slowly towards the finish, complete with psychology, mat-work and everything else. Yes, its nicely stiff, but its not just big spots and moves - check it out, you might like it.
Guest BlackRainbow1025 Posted February 28, 2002 Report Posted February 28, 2002 Here's a pic I'm quite fond of: http://cherrybabe.com/michiku/img/ayako.jpg I love Ayako Hamada. Look, she's actually smiling! I have many more pics I enjoy, but none are on the net (on my hard drive). I figured I'd post something though so there ya go.
Guest cynicalprofit Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 damn, that picture is a powerful image, but I have no idea what it is about, could you please tell me what is happening?
Guest CB2M Posted March 1, 2002 Report Posted March 1, 2002 damn, that picture is a powerful image, but I have no idea what it is about, could you please tell me what is happening? Tenzan looks to be saddened by his tag team partner, Satoshi Kojima, jumping to All Japan Pro Wrestling.
Guest Tiger Suplex 85 Posted March 2, 2002 Report Posted March 2, 2002 Best...Wrestling Picture Site...EVER!!!
Guest HopeSpot Posted March 2, 2002 Report Posted March 2, 2002 That was an incredible image of Tenzan, I put it in my screen saver.
Guest Luke Argyle Posted March 3, 2002 Report Posted March 3, 2002 Here's the other side of that coin. I love this one.
