Guest Downhome Report post Posted July 3, 2002 The following is from 1wrestling... "World Wrestling Entertainment is going to battle against "Stone Cold," but it has nothing to do with estranged star Steve Austin. The WWE filed a complaint with the United States Patent and Trademark office in Washington, DC, looking to block a musical label titled "Stone Cold Records," citing confusion of the marketplace over the name. The WWE contends that the name is confusing to customers and contend they own the rights to the term "Stone Cold," citing they have been using the term in conjunction with Steve Austin since May 1996 and have used to name to move WWE products. According to an article by the Associated Press, the WWE learned about Stone Cold Records' existence when they attempted to trademark the name for their own usage in musical venues. The WWE learned of Stone Cold Records' trademark when it applied for one of its own. The record company, which is not profitable at this time according to the AP piece, is based out of New Hampshire and has been in business for close to three years." ...I know many of you either don't care, or already knew this, but I didn't so you can just go sit in the corner as I share this information. Sincerely, ...Downhome...

Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted July 3, 2002 Well, fans care for Bret Hart and the WWE owns the name Bret "The Hitman" Hart, so if someone else took his name I'm sure this board would have a riot. Of course the WWE would want to keep his name, for merchandise/video sales......
