Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted July 3, 2002 Yes Haku, the horror of Smarks. The man that makes Moveset obessed quiver with fear. Da Man with the Large Samoan Afro Puff... Now the new Afa of the Island Boys. Can you look past your instant prejudice to remember any matches that was halfway decent with him in it? "Wrestlefest 91" Haku vs British Bulldog Survivor Series 88 In the tag team SS match, with The Islanders the last team to survive on their team. Haku vs Hercules WM
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted July 3, 2002 my choice goes to haku/andre the giant vs. demolition from wrestlemania 6. i love this match. haku does a great job facing both of demolition by himself, covering for the giant's declining health.
Guest Mr. Slim Citrus Report post Posted July 3, 2002 You must mean SS '87; SS '88 came down to the Conquistadors and the Powers of Pain. The Islanders weren't even teaming anymore by then... And, I second the nomination for WM VI.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted July 3, 2002 the islanders were the last team eliminated by the killer bees on surivior series 87. i'll also throw out a mention to the islanders/bobby heenan vs. british bulldogs/koko b. ware match from wrestlemania 4. it was the big blowoff to the matilda dognapping angle and haku's team got the duke. Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted July 3, 2002 Haku vs. DBS from Wrestlefest SUCKED. It was about 18 minutes worth of restholds. I'd go with Haku wrestling as Meng against Chris Benoit in a WCW PPV a few years back.
Guest gwf0704 Report post Posted July 3, 2002 Benoit v Haku because at the time it made me dream of a matchup between Benoit and ECW Tazz...

Guest Hitman Jebus Report post Posted July 6, 2002 Haku / Barbie vs. Rockers (WM7) Meng vs. Jerry Flynn (Nitro...early 99) NO I'M NOT KIDDING! I remember that CRZ wrote on his recap that he really enjoyed this match too (I was checking cause I thought I was the only one who saw a GOOD Meng vs. Flynn match)...and its the only Meng match that I put on a Nitro compilation tape of mine. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any of the Meng vs. Benoit's of the 1997 PPV's
Guest TheScholarlyLion Report post Posted July 6, 2002 Meng vs Sting (omg their names rhyme!) from GAB 95 Fun match with Meng abusing Sting and no selling all of his offense until Sting finally breaks him down.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted July 7, 2002 Its Interesting How WCW pushed Meng/Haku as a Juggernaught how he just chewed up alot of names in random matches Beating Chris Benoit in a WCW © deathmatch LOL Hacksaw Jim Duggan in a Martal Arts match? oki doki
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted July 7, 2002 i hated the haku/jerry flynn feud from wcw. i didn't see one good thing come from that feud.
Guest Hitman Jebus Report post Posted July 7, 2002 i hated the haku/jerry flynn feud from wcw. i didn't see one good thing come from that feud. They had a feud!?!?!? Anyway, the match I was talking about was a completely random made Nitro opener Flynn was actually feuding with the Cat and just got a "big" win over him at Uncensored 99...the next night they feed Flynn (with a PPV win!) to Meng during one his MONSTER MENG pushes I saw it again yesterday and I'm sticking to my opinion...GOOD MATCH! Guest raptor Report post Posted July 7, 2002 I thought his matches with Devon Storm at the end of his WCW/Meng tenure had me as entertained as I've ever been by him.
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted July 8, 2002 I am not sure about the workrate, but back when I was 8 or 9 and obviously a MARK, I remember seeing Haku vs. Harley Race to see who would become the NEW King, and Haku won.....for some reason I remember responding well to that match. Guest Sean Mooney Report post Posted July 8, 2002 For the person who started this thread, what the fuck? Yeah, Haku sucked when he got to WCW, but when he was in the WWF, he was at the very least carryable. The Islanders were awesome. Just watch (the already mentioned) Survivor Series 87'. Sure not all their matches were that good, but they definitely had their moments. I also enjoyed the WrestleFest match with Davey Boy Smith. To the guy who said this was 18 minutes of resthold, you must have the wrong tape cuz this match only went like 10 minutes and I don't recall there being more than 1 or 2 restholds. Ricky Steamboat used to say that he loved working with Haku cuz Haku was one of the only guys at the time who could work any style and they used to tear it up every night in 1991 on the house shows. Anyways, sure Haku sucks now, and has for the last 8 or 9 years, but from 1985-1992, he was decent-very good.

I did it because People like Haku are automatically bashed. I Watched wrestling since 86 and I Seen Haku from the Islander Days. and he kicked a## back in the day. Age and weight may have caught up on him, but even a No Selling Samoan Afro Puff Monster can still be of some use, Hell in HWA right now he is the New Afa to the Island Boys. So before you start in on my thread. try reading my first msg about Haku on this thread

Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted July 8, 2002 i watched the 1987 survivor series again last night and haku gives a pretty good performance in the giant tag team match. the islanders last right to the end and looked actually impressive back then. too bad they were never pushed as a real credible threat to the titles. Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted July 8, 2002 I vote for Meng and the Barbarian vs. Benoit and Steve McMicheal from Halloween Havoc 96. Just a hard hitting match with some nice moves in it. Yes...my vote goes to a match that had Mongo in it.
