Old vs Youth 1992/1993 WWF

I've watched Wrestling since 1984, and Vince had to have had a better plan for Ric Flair than what he ended up doing....

 

Such as.... Not deciding to release Ric Flair in Early 1993, instead, keep him around and build to a Hogan/ Flair undercard match at WMania 9....

 

Or Build the Mr. Perfect/ Flair fued to culmanate at WM 9... if Savage/ Flair lasted From Febuary - November as a Fued the year before, I think they could've made this one last from Nov. - April

 

For that matter... What was the rush with getting Randy Savage out of the ring.... He and Ramon probably could've been built up to WM 9 as well, so Ramon could get Savage's rub, instead of bob backlund's

 

Maybe We should'nt freak out at Vince for not making new stars fast enough, because as 1993 shows... Not properly devaluing the old stars leads to trouble...

 

Heel Flair was traded in for a Heel Luger push

 

Face Savage was Traded in For a Face Tattanka push to the moon (Longest undefeated streak ever)

 

At Least hogan/ hacksaw got squashed by yokozuna in order to give yoko the rub

 

I guess Flair was beaten a bunch by perfect, but Perfect's best days were behind him, and that was more of a "old big name" kind of a push

 

Mean while Shawn and Bret were elevated to the Upper Card/ Main event Level by what? Bret got piper's rub at WM 8/ Shawn got Tito's rub at WM 8

 

Then They basically fought each other until the ME push came ... Bulldog/ martel fueds not with standing

I def think Flair v. Perfect LLT should've been held off until Wrestlemania IX.

Wrestling-wise, perhaps Perfects best days were behind him, but he was very over after the face turn, with most of his heat coming from his "Executive Consultant" position with Flair rather than just being an "old big name".

 

And they should've waiting til WM 9.

it would have been sweet for flair to have wrestled at wrestlemania 9 but he wanted back into the wcw and i believe that flair was pissed at vince back then too.

Flair wanting to leave sucked (looking at it now). Perfect/Flair had a lot of heat and they put on a great match on Monday Night Raw the night following RR 93 (that AUTOMATICALLY MEANS they lost the rumble, lol)

i think it was better that he left. wcw was in serious need of flair, and once again he carried the company on his back.

I agree that just pitching out the old stars just like that is a bad move. If you're going to get rid of them, use them in a constructive way, whether it be putting over a couple of new stars, or just going of into the sunset on a high note.

Definitely. His best wrestling days were finished by time he retired in 1991, but he was still marketable as a heel or a face. He was one of the most over faces for a while when he turned in late 1992. It wasn't until the WWF confused the fans as to whether Perfect was a face, heel, or tweener in his many returns, that his heat really went away. He was still pretty over during his brief return earlier this year, but I still think it would have been wiser to have just skipped the return, since it did no good for him.

Actually, Flair parted with the WWF on very good terms, which was and is quite a rare thing. They basically came to the agreement that both parties had done all they could for each other, and it was at that point that Vince freely let Flair head back to WCW.

vince and flair got into some kind of argument at wrestlemania 8 over flair's bladejob and i thought flair was on shakey terms with the wwf after that.
