Guest O.J. Hart Report post Posted July 3, 2002 I like the opening and the second part of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Caught in a landslide, though escaped from reality. Open you eyes, look up to the skys and see.... I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy. Cause it's easy come, easy go. Little high, little low. Any way the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me. To me..... Momma, just killed a man. Put a gun against his head, pulled the trigger now he's dead. Momma, life had just begun. And now you've gone and thrown it all away. Momma, ooohhhh, didnt mean to make you cry. If I'm not back again this time tomorrow, carry on, carry on. Cause nothin really matters. Too late, my time has come. Sent shivers down my spine, but hes achin all the time. Goodbye, everybody. I've got to go. Gonna leave you all behind, and face the truth. Momma, ohhhh.(the way the wind blows) I don't wanna die. Sometimes wish I never been born at all!!! You all knwo the, rest probably. Thats the most underrated part of the song. You have any picks for your favorite part of you favorite song?

Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted July 4, 2002 Ah, live Cd's. I love my Judas Priest live tape in my car. Esp. "Breakin' the Law", "Some heads are gonna roll" and "turbolover" But probably my fav. piece of music is the entire Eric Clapton Unplugged. I heard that, then went out and bought a guitar. I quit about 3 weeks later, but I still bought the guitar because of Clapton. Also up there is Master of Puppets (entire CD), My Helloween tape (The Best , The Rest, The Rare) and, one of my favorite songs, Fade to Black.

Guest Incandenza Report post Posted July 5, 2002 Ludacris - "U Got a Problem?" Not my all-time favorite song or anything--isn't that one of the points of this thread?--but in the line "I put a stethoscope quite close to your titty," I love the way he says the last word, stretching out like "titaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!" -------------------------------------- Neutral Milk Hotel - "The King of Carrot Flowers Pts. 2 & 3" The ecstatic moaning of "I love you, Jesus Christ" over and over again at the beginning gives me chills. (More to come....)
Guest papacita Report post Posted July 7, 2002 It's not my favorite song, but the 2nd verse on "Guns & Roses" by the Clipse is nice as hell.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted July 7, 2002 The moment in Sparklehorse's "Maria's Little Elbows" where band mastermind Mark Linkous, 2:20 into the song, starts singing lines from the Velvet Underground's "Candy Says." Love it.

Excellent selection. Just out of curiosity, were you thinking of the "Good Morning Spider" version or the "Memphis Version" from the "Distorted Ghost" EP? Guest Incandenza Report post Posted July 9, 2002 Good Morning Spider. I don't have the Distorted Ghost EP. Is the EP version similar in anyway? I'd love to hear the song without all the studio trickery.
Guest BottleRocket Report post Posted July 9, 2002 Good Morning Spider. I don't have the Distorted Ghost EP. Is the EP version similar in anyway? I'd love to hear the song without all the studio trickery. The EP version is actually quite similar. The noise at the beginning is, more or less, just cut in half. For that reason, it's a little easier to digest from a pop stand-point and it would probably fit better on the mixtape you might be making for a friend. It still, however, has the same dramatic effect of the full song jumping to the forefront. The other related gem that I REALLY like is a "live" version of a track credited as "Happy Pig." Basically, it's a stripped-down, more balls-out version of "Happy Man" (sans the treble static intro) with somewhat heavy distortion on the guitars and vocals that morphs into a verse of "Pig" after a feedback break at the end. It's less studio-feeling and more rocking. You lose the contrast between the two parts that you get in the original, but you can air-drum to it. Overall, though, the EP is really only recommeded if you're a completist or have wads of extra money at your disposal.
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted July 9, 2002 The opening guitar on Stabbing Westward's shame. The chorus as well, but the best comes towards the end of the song. It slows down for the bridge... I stare into this mirror So tired of this life If only you would speak to me, or care if I'm alive Once I swore I would die for you, but I never meant like this I never meant like this No, I never meant like this (beat gets heavier...throws you right into the last chorus) I don't know if I am real without you What is left of me without you I don't know what's real without you How can I exist without you? Awesome, awesome song, one of my favorites of all time. Highest recommendation!
