Wondering why the PTC apologized now?

WWE has successfully settled its lawsuit against the Parents Television Council. The first result of that settlement is a retraction letter that was signed by Brent Bozell on behalf of the PTC and its sister organization, the Media Research Center. This retraction letter, per the settlement agreement, was posted on the PTC Web site on Wednesday, July 3, and will remain there for six months. A formal announcement about WWE's settlement with the PTC will be made on Monday, and more information will be provided at that time.

 

People were asking why the PTC decided that now would be a good time to apologize for their statements. Looks like they realized that they couldn't win the lawsuit, so they settled out of court. And they were forced to apologize as part of the settlement. Hell didn't freeze over after all.

 

More information on Monday, eh? I can only imagine.
