Guest Snappy Nappy Dugout Report post Posted July 4, 2002 In a surprising move, Nas is looking to sign to "The Worlds Most Talented Record Label, Murder Inc." Sounds crazy right, but we heard it first hand on 'The Ramiro and Pebbles Show' at Jam'n 94.5 in Boston. Ja Rule claims, "It's not official but Nas might be coming to Murder Inc....It's 90 percent done!...The two gods might get together and destroy the world." During the interview, Irv Gotti said: "All jokes aside. This is a real thing. It's not 100% closed but me and the god have been talking extensively...He's standing up for good things. He's on the side of right..." Damn, That will suck if Nas DID sign with them. I'll think this will Hurt him big time. IMO, Nas should sign with Aftermath. I don't know why he wants to sign with RED RUM inc. Here's why he should sign with Aftermath: 1. Production. people Shit about nas's production. dr dre got beats. 2. Marketing & Promotion. Columbia hardly promoted nas at all, but interscope promotes the fuck outta everything. 3. The roster. Aftermath already got eminem, dr dre, 50 cents, truth hurts, & rakim plus I hear they are trying to get at rass kass. with NAS they also that roster would be unbeatable (i also think dr dre should sign ghostface). 4. Power move. Def Jam is the most powerful label in hip hop right now. If nas want to seriously take the giant on he needs the help of the 2nd most powerful label=Aftermath. 5. Nas already knows Dre. Dre & Nas worked together on the firm lp & sound as if they had a good relationship. I noticed nas is on the new rakim tracklisting. If nas sign with dre if in the futre nas chooses to do a greatest hits lp he can then use some of the hottest tracks from the firm lp. And plus, RED RUM SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest razazteca Report post Posted July 4, 2002 hmmm I thought Murder Inc was Nas's "family"? so what label is Nas currently on if he is not with Irv Gotti, as of yet?
Guest papacita Report post Posted July 4, 2002 so what label is Nas currently on if he is not with Irv Gotti, as of yet? Nas was under Ill Will Records last time I checked.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted July 4, 2002 Ill Will Records? is that some established rapper's personal label or what?
Guest bdolo Report post Posted July 4, 2002 How much does anyone want to bet that nas does not sign with murder inc.? I fuckin guarantee you that he does not, considering columbia just gace him a development deal to start ill will records. If he was to change record companys, aftermath would be a good choice, as long as dre did not do the beats, dre has good beats but nas needs the east coast sound of producers like pete rock and dj premier. Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted July 4, 2002 Nas really shouldn't sign with Murder Inc. It's nothing more than Ja Rule acting like a bitch while singing with a bunch of chicks. I would hate to see Nas put out another album like Nastradamus.
Guest ant_7000 Report post Posted July 4, 2002 You guys are right Nas shouldn't sign with Murder Inc. they are lame and I think he'll get real lazy again if doing stuff with Irv and Ja. I thought he wasn't doing the pop/rap stuff anymore that he's going to keep it real. He'll probably go back to the Escobar gimmick rapping over Puff's already sampled beats. He wants to jump labels go to Aftermath he's work with Dre before and the roster is getting bigger and talent quietly and eventually became the number 1 label. Guest Snappy Nappy Dugout Report post Posted July 5, 2002 Like I said before, It will be a dumb ass move If Nas sign with RED RUM Inc. I thought Nas was trying to stop this pop/rap shit, and that's what RED RUM Inc. Is doing. Nas will be a hypocrite(sp?) If he does this. Plus, Irv Gotti production sucks. He steal beats. But something tells me he won't do it. BTW, He owns Ill Will records.
Guest bdolo Report post Posted July 5, 2002 Like I said nas aint signing with murder inc. It will never happen. I think this is just a rumor spawned because nas had been thinking about another label. Even though he isn't 100% against staying with columbia. The reason this more than likely came about was due to the fact that nas had been recently talking to suge knight. It as said if they were talking business are just becoming friends. People might say It would be stupid for him to go to the row, but he would have complete freedom to do what he wanted and also suge would promote the fuck out of his album. But more likely the interactions between the two are involving the rows new artist Crooked I. It is believed that suge just wanted some input on what nas thought about his upcoming album and ways to improve t. Since the word on the street is that Crooked I is going to be the next big thing, suge just confided with nas since he is one of the top rappers in the game. Guest Ripper Report post Posted July 5, 2002 I'm sorry, but anyone that thinks that Tha Row will have any prominece is REALLY naive. I mean there are dudes in the West that got skills, no label and STILL won't sign with sign with Suge. Everyone knows he is a bad business man, and they will get screwed over.
