Guest Angle is Wrestling Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 It's a curse I tell ya, a curse.. the tight group of "buddies" that once were on top of the Wrestling Industry. They main evented in the WWF together, then split up and went Half in WCW, Half in WWF to Main Event in the feds. The group that might be the greatest backstage politicians ever, the group that doesn't care about anyone but themselves, the group that loves to make obscure references during interviews that nobody other than themselves understands. Ahh yes... THE CLIQUE! But the once proud and mighty Clique has now fallen to shambles. Let's just take a moment to reflect on the current careers of the Vince McMahon's right hand men. Shawn Michaels - The Ringleader, The Heartbreak Kid, the Pill Popper, so on and so forth. Once was on top of the game, and is now done because of a shot back. He even admitted on Confidential that the things he did during the Clique days caught up to him. Although he probably doesn't give a shit either way. There's 1 down out of 5 Kevin Nash - The Big Mang, Big Lazy the Ratings Killer, Big Daddy Bitch, Kevin Trash.. oh man there's a million of em for this guy, but I'll stop there. He brought us the Vanilla midgets. The Man who drew lower than any other WWF Champion in the history of the federation. The man who helped put WCW out of business! A well-known backstage politician, he gets what he wants backstage. But as they say.. what goes around comes around. He signs back with WWE, doesn't wrestle for the first few months, then wrestles and looks like 2 sacks of dog shit, then hurts his arm, then comes back and tears his quad. I smell the ratings, do you? 2 down, 3 to go. Scott Hall - The Little Mang, Scotch Hall, Scott Alchohall.. there's a bunch of 'em for this guy too. He's been a drunk and druggie nearly his whole career. Can't keep a job for more than a few months. Signed the WWE and sweared he was a changed man, then after being fired he admitted he didn't expect to last as long as he did. While he's not completely done like HBK and Nash will soon be, he's just as good as done. He's a drunk and wrestling for NWA-TNA, where he'll probably be until he gets arrested in a few weeks. 3 down, 2 to go. HHH - The man that took all the heat for the MSG incident. I guess by taking the heat for that he's "worked his way up the ladder" as far as Cliquesters are concerned. What a bright future the man they call "The Game" once had. However, he dabbled in a little thing called Steroids and his career was shot to all hell. Had a knee injury a few years back, but came back nicely, then had the torn quad which kept him out forever last year, and has been shitty in his comeback. It's no longer ring rust, he just sucks ass. He's big and slow, and is still out with an injury he presumably got at or a little before KOTR. His body is breaking down and he seems to be winding down the path of Nash and HBK in the ol' retirement home. X-Pac - Once had a very bright future as well, then he got caught up with the Clique. Left for WCW and has a successful run as Syxx, then came back to the WWF and was good early on with DX. However, something mysterious happened, taking after his Clique forefathers, the man they once called the Lightning Kid began to suck balls. Fans chanted X-Pac sucks, and not because he was a good heel, but because they really wanted him off of TV. He was out for a good while with a neck injury, and since coming back, not only has he continued sucking, but the fans have gone from chanting X-PAC SUCKS out of pure hatred, to not even caring enough to chant anything at all. He's not done yet, but he's fading into oblivion slowly but surely. That means 3 out of the 5 Clique members are out, and the other 2 are hanging on by a thread. I've got 4 words for the CLIQUE... The Clique is going DOWN WHERE!??!? DOWN THERE! l l l l l l l l
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 Wow, you're one bitter motherfucker aren't you?
Guest CanadianChick Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 DId the Clique do something personal to you or something? You seem awfully resentful.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 It IS Anglesault!!!! (just kidding, AS)
Guest Angle is Wrestling Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 DId the Clique do something personal to you or something? You seem awfully resentful. Yes. Nash and Hall re-signed with the WWF, X-Pac joined the nWo and HBK returned to TV. That personally hurt me.
Guest Downhome Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 It's a curse I tell ya, a curse.. the tight group of "buddies" that once were on top of the Wrestling Industry. Do you mean, these guys... ...why do you like them all so much for?
Guest CanadianChick Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 Is it just me, or does X-Pac look like he is about 18 years old in that picture? Especailly with that ugly-ass hat.
Guest Downhome Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 Is it just me, or does X-Pac look like he is about 18 years old in that picture? Especailly with that ugly-ass hat. He wasn't too much older than that in reality, like 22 or 23.
Guest LesnarLunatic Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 that was when X-Pac was trying to grow facial hair. He eventually succeeded in that quest in about 1998

Nash and Hall re-signed with the WWF, X-Pac joined the nWo and HBK returned to TV. That personally hurt me. Get the fuck over it! These guys were brought back into the WWE cause the MARKS, not YOU, asked for them back. I swear to god this bullshit blind hating of the Kliq is pathetic. There's nothing you can do personally about it or their "alledged" backstage antics. AIS all you can do is take pride in the fact that these guys have/or are going through problems. You bask in their pain. Do you have an alcoholic in your family? Do you know how had it is to kick that habbit? Have you ever had a disabling sports related injury? Do you know what pain you have to go through to rehab? For such an insensitive bastard, I would say you couldn't say yes to any of these questions. I for one can say yes to them all. Everyone has their favorites when it comes to wrestling, but people like you AIS take it the level of being bitter assholes who undoubtedly live for nothing but anothers pain.

Guest Nater Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 Yes, we can make him the funny. We have the technology.
Guest Razor Roman Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 I've never been a fan of any of these guys... even when I was a kid, the closest I came was sort of liking the Rockers, and even then I preferred Janetty, LOL. I rooted for Bret Hart when I was a SummerSlam 97, and got yelled at for being in the aisle with my friends screaming rude things at Shawn Michaels. I never liked HHH. I never really liked Hall & Nash. I didn't even care when the 1-2-3 Kid beat Razor Ramon. Bust seriously, that tirade was just a bit much for my liking. And althought I thought the Kevin Nash Chariots of Fire video was funny, and even MPEG'd it and put it in my webspace, I don't think that we should go accusing people of using steroids, and thanking God for their injuries. My 2 favorite wrestlers are Mick Foley and Chris Jericho (the man who put over HHH and the man HHH should have put over) and I don't like HHH. But I know when the madness must stop. When someone goes on here and says "HHH screwed his career up by taking steroids" without any proof, it gives Jim Ross, Chris Jericho, and everyone else who bashes us a reason to continue bashing us. If you want my opinion on why HHH screwed up his career (or at least how his career got screwed up....) it's simple... Triple H never went out of his way to make his opponents look like a threat to him. He always was made to look like the automatic winner in any match, so when he gets a win over, say, Chris Jericho, it's no big deal. If it's not a big deal for HHH to win, then eventually people will stop caring when he does win.

Before January 7th, he always put people over. He may not have done the job, but he made them look good in the ring. Now, he just plays the Strong Super Face, which is crap. For someone who who looks up to Flair so much, he should see that you have to make it look like you can lose at any second to the guy you're in the ring with. Playing the Face or Heel. That's why guys like Flair, Michaels and Bret Hart are looked at as Great Workers.
Guest GenerationNever Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 Well, we could steal some of Hunter's urine and send it to Meltzer.
Guest Prince Paul Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 The clique used to have good matches, with eachother, back in the day. I'm really not bitter towards them, but they don't do anything for me anymore. I know they were brought back for the marks, but do the marks even care anymore?
Guest Austin3164life Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 I have not become so disgruntled that I believe there is a curse with the Clique. I just feel exactly how I felt about them five years ago. I don't give a shit about them. The only Clique member who I like is Shawn Michaels, and that was for his great abilities back in the day.......
Guest genius1591 Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 I love the Clique, there are good for the business.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 I love the Clique, there are good for the business. And here is where the thread will go entirely downhill....
Guest Ripper Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 Kurt Angle comes in the fed and wins every title within a year, is constantly pushed and no one even assumes a thing about politicing and ass kissin going on. X-pac gets a win over Crash Holly and it must be because of the clique. NWO- Hasn't come close to dominatiing a match and all of the wins are MASSIVE screw jobs and they come off looking weak.... Angle makes each and every person on the roster tap numerous times. Yet we shoud assume that the CLique has all this backstage influence and Angle is just getting there through hard work...the guy that is about the same size as Beniot and Jerhico but has gotten 10 times the push.... Now I'm not saying that Angle is a backstage politicer(although, I am kinda making myself wonder) but more signs point to him than the Clique these days, yet you guys still are holding on to resentment from 8-9 years back. And they say X-pac is living in the past. Come on, kids...follow me into the present...things are different now.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 Why does my boy Justin get left out of all these Clique posts? He was the #6 guy. They could use him as a lacky or something. Youth N Asia-The only Justin Credible mark of the Smart Marks

Yet he put Edge over (as best as anybody could get an Edge over), put over Cena, and continues to put out good matches against whoever he's in the ring with. He isn't at the top because of politics. It's because he's GOOD.
Guest Ripper Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 "Yet he put Edge over (as best as anybody could get an Edge over), put over Cena, and continues to put out good matches against whoever he's in the ring with. He isn't at the top because of politics. It's because he's GOOD." HHH put over a shit load of guys and continued to have great matches before his injury yet everything he did was allegedly because of politicing while Angle is assumed he is there because he is good. How many guys have been more over than Angle yet Angle gets the big push. People say Vince doesn't like little guys...Jerhico and Beinot are both nearly the same size as Kurt, same weight, more experienced and he has been pushed over them both. Kurt has CLEAN wins over a majority of the roster, while Jerhico and Beniot can't claim the same. Yet at no time does anyone say "Hey, maybe Kurt is politiciing and kissing ass backstage." Him and his pal Vince have been in mock wrestling matches once or twice, if this was anyone else it would be kissing up to the boss. I am pointing out the HUGE double standard. EVERY sign points to Kurt getting his spot because he is a backstage politition, yet everyone over looks it. But let anyone in the Clique get anything remotely viewed as a push, it is because of politicing from over 6 years ago.
Guest Ripper Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 And once again, I must say I DON'T believe that Kurt is a backstage ass kisser...but the signs that he is outweighs most of the "proof" guys have that Clique members still have clout and are holding people down.

He sure put Test over... He sure put Mick Foley over... He sure put Chris Jericho over... He sure helped The Rock out at wrestlemania. Oh, that's right... He won every single one of those payoffs, buried Test, retired Mick Foley, won the Jericho payoff, became the first heel to win the Wrestlemania main event... And how does his injury excuse his refusal to put anyone over now?
Guest Harry Hood Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 HHH put over a shit load of guys and continued to have great matches before his injury yet everything he did was allegedly because of politicing while Angle is assumed he is there because he is good. He won every single one of those payoffs, buried Test, retired Mick Foley, won the Jericho payoff, became the first heel to win the Wrestlemania main event... And how does his injury excuse his refusal to put anyone over now? First off, he's a face and most faces don't put anyone over too well, with the exclusion of the Rock. When he was supposed to put Test over, I assume you mean with the marriage angle, which was dying in it's infancy. If he would have put Test over, it would be logical to assume that Steph would have went with Test and Test would have got a monster push at the cost of the MacMAhon Helmsely Regime, one of my favorite times in WWE past. Foley was retiring and said he'd job, how was HHH supposed to put him over? Once again, HHH wsa the face in the JEricho escapade, faces win pay off matches, simply put. Fueds aren't supposed to extend past WM if history is any indication. And what's wrong with the heel winning at WM, it only creates renewed interest because you never know what's going to happen, i.e. Austin turning and winning the belt the next year.
Guest Ripper Posted July 10, 2002 Report Posted July 10, 2002 HHH DID put over Jerhico in the Last man Standing and the Win of the Title(both programs requested by him if you believe the sheets) HHH put over Angle, yeah, the Test push was squashed, but so was his other pushes. He put over Rikishi(Kishi didn't win, but is his best match to date, with the finish being HHH couldn't beat him so he got DQ'd) he gave Taka quite the rub...which was mishandled by the booking committe. He was injured putting over the Chris's. Rock and HHH have put each other over so many times it is ridiculous. Since his return he has lost to Jerhico, Booker T, Hogan, Test and Taker and Angle. Foley was retiring...he was putting someone over for his last run...thats how it works you know. And I still think that my point is being missed. How can you say there is no evidence of Angle backstaging it when it is all there and all you have on HHH is guess work and assumptions. Oh...I know... 8 years ago HHH was friends with guys that had influence backstage. That must be it.
