Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 WWE newcomer Randy Orton was knocked out during his match with Batista at the St. Johns, N.F. house show tonight. Early in the match, Batista went for a clothesline, but it appeared Batista's arm was too high and caught Orton square in the head. Orton landed awkwardly. Batista stalled for a minute, then went to pick up Orton, but Orton was limp and didn't respond. After throwing a glance at the referee, Batista covered Orton for a quick pin. Medics then entered the ring and tended to Orton for about five minutes, including reviving him with smelling salt. WWE president Carl DeMarco stood ringside as Orton was offered a stretcher. A groggy Orton refused the stretcher and staggered to the back mostly under his own power.
Guest Downhome Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Well, I wouldn't doubt that would happen if Bautista really hit ya. The question however... ...is he hurt bad, what is his condition now? (I still wish to know if NWA:TNA is available on Dish Network! :))
Guest LesnarLunatic Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 ya know.. if they want to, they can always bring it up on Smackdown to continue the Orton/D-Von/Batista saga.
Guest chirs3 Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 (on Smackdown...) Orton: You knocked me out, man! That is... that is not cool! Gripping TV!
Guest Nevermortal Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Good. The less we see of Randy Orton the better.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Randy Orton: You're so big! And you knocked me out! I'm mad! Head Booker Dusty Rhodes: Das gold bebe! Run wit it! You be bad! You be bad! I'm sorry, but I found an old WCW tape with Rhodes on commentary and dammit...it just...my God, how can you not love that man?
Guest Respect The 'Taker Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Good. The less we see of Randy Orton the better. Agreed, like he was goin' anywhere anyway... This has been..ahh nevermind
Guest LesnarLunatic Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Maybe they can make Batista's finisher the "Axe Bomber" based off this, instead of his shitty Spinebuster
Guest MrRant Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Randy Orton: You're so big! Easy... I couldn't understand him.
Guest Flyboy Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Exactly! That's what makes him lovable!
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Yes! Exactly! You had no idea what eh was talking about but by God, you knew it was funny and or idiotic.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Dusty.. You could understand like half the stuff he said.. "..on the mothaship.." WCW Saturday Night ruled.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 i think this means bautista should take some time on OVW to modify that clothesline into a wwe style sleeper by gawd.
Guest buffybeast Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 I don't know if being sent down to Ohio is the answer. Every one makes mistakes and even the main eventers have been known to be too stiff on some of their shots. It depends on the match itself. I suspect Bautista probably needs to work on controlling his intensity and not being so stiff. Maybe an agent could work with him on the road.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 I think saturnmark was being facetious...
Guest saturnmark4life Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 My apologies then. heh. I don't normally type 'by gawd' wait i just did!
Guest godthedog Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 this doesn't surprise me at all. the 2 times i've seen bautista in the ring are probably the 2 stiffest matches i've ever seen in the u.s. he really doesn't seem to have any regard for his opponent's safety at all, especially on those clotheslines.
Guest Anglesault Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 this doesn't surprise me at all. the 2 times i've seen bautista in the ring are probably the 2 stiffest matches i've ever seen in the u.s. he really doesn't seem to have any regard for his opponent's safety at all, especially on those clotheslines. Well, then maybe HE should get the Hardcore Holly mini push that didn't get Holly over.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 I don't think Randy Orton is all that bad as far as ring work goes. Damn, what is the problem? Damn, why don't you guys bitch a little more about Vince & Co. not making and building new stars.
Guest TheSmarkzone Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Orton is sloppy. Out of all oof the OVW guys, he seems to be the greenest.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Do you expect all the guys to show up on TV and look like Benoit or Eddie?
Guest Anglesault Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Orton is sloppy. Says the test fan.... Anyway, I like Orton too.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Orton is sloppy. Says the test fan.... Anyway, I like Orton too. But Test *isn't* sloppy. Un-over & devoid of personality/charisma, yes. But sloppy, no.
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 I don't necessarily mind Orton, he just seems to be the most basic guy in the ring when it comes to moves. I mean, his finisher is a cross body, how exciting is that?
Guest Anglesault Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Orton is sloppy. Says the test fan.... Anyway, I like Orton too. But Test *isn't* sloppy. Un-over & devoid of personality/charisma, yes. But sloppy, no. I still have visions of that Mark henry match.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Maybe I'm alone here, but I think it's about time guys started knockin eachother out. The last few months of WWF have to be the absolute fakest looking wrestling matches I've ever seen. They don't need to be putting eachother into comas, but when you catch a guy in the head, the crowd likes it. Ask Tajiri or Van Dam.
Guest cabbageboy Posted July 15, 2002 Report Posted July 15, 2002 Batista could be so over with any sort of push, it's not even funny. The guy has that "I'll rip your fucking head off" style that Brock just doesn't. He is the Vanilla Gorilla, but he doesn't seem like he would want to kill someone just to see which way they fall. By the way, OVW is NOT in OHIO! It is in the Louisville area and S. Indiana. Louisville is in the Ohio Valley, and is on the Ohio River, thus the name Ohio Valley Wrestling. Can you tell I hate Ohio?
