Guest OlympicHeroY2J Posted July 31, 2002 Report Posted July 31, 2002 In the past 2 weeks, Vince has completely shifted everything around and the matches we THOUGHT we had have pretty much been changed. Vince has been off of TV for the past few weeks so I doubt Vince/Hogan will even happen. So what could the card be now ? Heavyweight Title: Rock vs. Brock Lesnar and that's the only definite. I would GUESS the rest of the card could look like this: HHH vs. Big Show ? ( Though I HOPE it will be HHH vs. HBK ) Intercontinental Title: Benoit vs. Edge Kurt Angle vs. Eddie Guerrero ? The Undertaker vs. Test ? Tag Team Title: The Un-Americans vs. The Hardyz ? RVD vs. .....I don't even know.....Booker T ? Maybe a match forced on by Eric Bischoff..... Rey Misterio Jr. vs Jamie Knoble ? If you ask me, the card for SummerSlam is looking COMPLETELY screwed up. In your opinion, is there anything that would make more sense than what I'm proposing ? Because I'm scratching my head here trying to think of something. I got a ticket for SummerSlam and, unfortunately, it's looking like it may suck....
Guest RickyChosyu Posted July 31, 2002 Report Posted July 31, 2002 To be honest, it doesn't seem like they know either. It's Rock/Brock on top and the rest is going to have to be made sooner or later.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted July 31, 2002 Report Posted July 31, 2002 If RVD join Smackdown like I'm hoping, here's how the card would shape up: WWE Undisputed Title The Rock© vs. Brock Lesnar HHH vs. Whoever injured HBK(either the Big Show, Booker T, or a member of Team Canada) Intercontinental Title Chris Benoit© vs. Edge #1 Contender's Spot For The WWE Undisputed Title Rob Van Dam vs. Kurt Angle Tag Team Titles Storm & Christian© vs. Bubba & Spike Women's Title Molly Holly© vs. Trish Stratus Cruiserweight Title Jamie Knoble© vs. Rey Mysterio The Undertaker vs. Test Chris Jericho vs. Ric Flair That only leaves Hogan, Booker T, and Guerrero without matches, along with the rest of the roster. Unless the WWE builds towards a Hogan vs. Vince McMahon match, this will be the first PPV Hogan won't have a match at since his return.
Guest Shaved Bear Posted July 31, 2002 Report Posted July 31, 2002 Intercontinental Title: Benoit vs. Edge Is that a spoiler?
Guest Anglesault Posted July 31, 2002 Report Posted July 31, 2002 How about BookDust vs. Storm and Christian?
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted July 31, 2002 Report Posted July 31, 2002 Still leaves Rob doing nothing though, assuming he doesn't go to Smackdown.
Guest Nevermortal Posted July 31, 2002 Report Posted July 31, 2002 Intercontinental Title: Benoit vs. Edge Is that a spoiler? Very much so.
Guest Shaved Bear Posted July 31, 2002 Report Posted July 31, 2002 ah shit....I actually wanted to go w/o spoilers this week, but anyway, i guess its good *no more hints*
Guest Zack Malibu Posted July 31, 2002 Report Posted July 31, 2002 I could see Eddie getting paired up with John Cena for Summerslam.
Guest Choken One Posted July 31, 2002 Report Posted July 31, 2002 WWE Title Match The Rock Vs Brock Lesnar Ric Flair Vs Chris Jericho Triple H Vs Booker T. Undertaker Vs Test I.C Title Edge Vs Beniot Kurt Angle Vs John Cena Hulk Hogan Vs Eddy Tag Team Titles Hardyz Vs Unamericans Rob Van Dam Vs Chris Nowinski Hardcore Title Bradshaw Vs Dreamer Bubba and Spike Vs The Big Show and Regal Woman's title Molly Vs Trish Cruiserweight Title Jamie Knoble Vs Rey Mysterio Randy Orton Vs Albert Kidman Vs Tajiri
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted July 31, 2002 Report Posted July 31, 2002 I think Brock/Rock and now Flair/Jericho will be likely. We'll probably see the Hardys go after the Canadians and their tag belts, since the Hardys are the safe "let's let them beat somebody!" team for tag reigns. Could see the Island Boys getting involved there somehow, but they're heels, and heel/heel won't play well. Since Summerslam is supposed to be one of the interpromotional PPVs anyway, I'd like to see something like Booker T/Angle or RVD/Angle.
Guest Zack Malibu Posted July 31, 2002 Report Posted July 31, 2002 You could have Eric and Steph bitching back and forth about who's show is better, causing them to put their top guys in a match. RAW vs. Smackdown:Best of the Best Match Rob Van Dam or Booker T. represents RAW Kurt Angle represents Smackdown Maybe put Kurt over, but still put RVD or Booker over as a true fighter even though they lost, and use that as the start of a push on RAW against Bischoff. Booker would probably work better in the role, due to his past history with "The Bisch".
Guest OlympicHeroY2J Posted July 31, 2002 Report Posted July 31, 2002 I'm real sorry about the spoiler I gave before. I didn't realize what I wrote until I saw someone mention it. Real sorry. Anyway: I don't think SummerSlam is an interpromotional PPV. I think WrestleMania is the only PPV that is considered interpromotional. But anyway, now that I thought about it, I could see the card shaping up to be this: The Rock vs. Brock Lesnar for the title Chris Benoit vs. Edge for the Intercontinental Title ? The Undertaker/RVD/Booker T vs. Lance Storm/Test/Christian - This match actually makes a lot of sense and at least gives RVD and Booker T a role. HHH vs. The Big Show - POSSIBLE Special Referee: Shawn Michaels ( Though I can't stress enough how much I want to see HBK in that match. Doesn't Vince know how terrible a match HHH vs. The Big Show could be ? Especially since it has to carry such a main angle on its back....) Chris Jericho vs. Ric Flair Hardcore Challenge Match: Bradshaw vs. Tommy Dreamer vs. Johnny the Bull vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy vs. Steven Richards vs. whoever the hell you want to throw in here Kurt Angle vs. Eddie Guerrero ? Hulk Hogan & John Cena vs. um.....hell, I don't know.....Billy & Chuck What pisses me off about this is that I bought a SummerSlam ticket on the promise of seeing HHH vs. HBK, considering that the match has basically been hyped up on WWE TV, as well as on the House Show Reports. Now it looks like he probably won't wrestle, which is pretty damn annoying. And as bad as Hogan seems on TV, I want to be able to see him live before he retires, so he better be on this card too. As well as RVD and Angle. I don't know where the writers are going with this card but they gotta figure something out soon.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted July 31, 2002 Report Posted July 31, 2002 I don't know where the writers are going with this card but they gotta figure something out soon. The writers still have 3 weeks or so until SummerSlam, so that's plenty of time to make matches.
Guest bcu1979 Posted July 31, 2002 Report Posted July 31, 2002 I can't see a Triple H/Big Show match at the second biggest show of the year. Booker T is a much more likely option if Michaels decides not to wrestle. The match I'm worried about is Taker/Kane v. Storm/Christian. J.R. keeps hyping that Kane will be back soon and I can see them sticking the belts on Taker/Kane to feud with the Island Boys, while Christian/Storm get cut off at the knees before they have a chance to go anywhere as a team.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted July 31, 2002 Report Posted July 31, 2002 If the Undertaker & Kane face Storm & Christian for the Tag Team Titles at SummerSlam, the result will be the Undertaker & Kane walking out of SummerSlam new Tag Team Champions. That will suck since it will depush Storm & Christian as a tag team. Unless we see an Undertaker & Kane vs. Storm & Christian fued, which could lead into a rematch for the Tag Team Titles at Unforgiven, where Storm & Christian win them back. Hmmmmm....Alot of stuff could happen.
Guest Anglesault Posted July 31, 2002 Report Posted July 31, 2002 Undertaker Vs Test I.C Title Edge Vs Beniot Kurt Angle Vs John Cena Please God, no.
Guest redbaron51 Posted July 31, 2002 Report Posted July 31, 2002 Kurt Angle the curtain jobber to Triple H actually i would mark out like a bastard if Bret Hart was the one who ran over HBK...but the odds are that is the same as no baseball strike this year
Guest Mattdotcom Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 Kurt Angle Vs John Cena Hulk Hogan Vs Eddy Tag Team Titles Hardyz Vs Unamericans Rob Van Dam Vs Chris Nowinski Hardcore Title Bradshaw Vs Dreamer Bubba and Spike Vs The Big Show and Regal ::cries:: Not a Hardyz match.... Not a Bradshaw brawl... Not a Dudleyz/Big Show match...
Guest DJ Jeff Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 I hate to be the one to say this, but I don't think SummerSlam will be that great this year. Then again, who am I to say anything? SummerSlam could be the best PPV of 2002 if we're lucky. B)
Guest DeputyHawk Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 OlympicHeroY2J, are you sure you don't work for the WWE?
Guest DJ Jeff Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 OlympicHeroY2J, are you sure you don't work for the WWE? Now, what kind of a question is that? Why would someone who works for the WWE post at some unknown wrestling forum? B) Use your head.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 RVD is fucked for some reasons that I just made up. 1. He isn't going to SD! because unlike the other people that have crossed (Jericho, Team Canada, Benoit and Eddy) they actually use RVD to promote house shows. Just Moday Ross was shilling how RVD would be headlining house shows in wherever... 2. The IC title is gone...Heyman books the other show...time to job. 3. He, Flair and Booker are the top faces on a Raw with a whole lot of heels. Booker is getting a push...Jericho is paired off with Flair. Guess who's doing the jobbing? No...guess.
Guest DeputyHawk Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 Now, what kind of a question is that? Why would someone who works for the WWE post at some unknown wrestling forum? Use your head. You'd be surprised. Really.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 You'd be surprised. Really. I suppose you work for the WWE.
Guest I Fear Hogans Air Guitair Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 I would Really like to see RVD Face Lance Storm Win And then Start a Fued with Lesnar over the WWE Title (We all know Lesnar will win).
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 Should we reserve a "10 worst PPV matches of the year" slot for Taker and Test? OR give them a chance? I'll go with the first one probably. What's that? Jericho and Angle getting shoved into last minute crap? This is unprecedented!
Guest OlympicHeroY2J Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 Nope. I don't work for the WWE. But I wish I did. At least we would see less of the Big Show on the screen and more of RVD Anyway, I don't think they'll have RVD vs. Lance Storm. They need Lance Storm and Christian to defend the tag team titles. If they don't go along that path, I figure they'll do a 6-man tag match, like Taker/Booker T/RVD vs. Test/Lance Storm/Christian or maybe an 8-man match with Taker/Booker/RVD/Flair vs. Jericho/Test/Storm/Christian. I liked the idea of the RAW guy competing against the Smackdown guy. The scenario could be Bischoff and Steph arguing over who gets the next title shot: a RAW guy or a Smackdown guy. They then decide to have a Raw guy go against a Smackdown guy at the PPV, with the winner getting a Heavyweight title shot at Unforgiven. That could set up RVD vs. Kurt Angle nicely. As far as I know, there is just no role for Hulk Hogan, unless they put him in another tag team or something......Hogan & Cena vs. Billy & Chuck isn't all that exciting, but what else could they do ? Maybe it's time Vince starts.....you know....actually making some matches....
Guest Just call me Dan Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 This trading off/switching rosters has got to stop soon. It is kind of cool, but you can't do so many at a time because it takes away from the whole purpose of the angle, shock value. We are all calling who's jumping next, who's going where and it is just trading. When will it stop? The card for Summerslam is shot to hell and the jumping back and forth of wrestlers doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon. What the hell is Summerslam going to be and who should care? Right now it really is this guy vs. that guy (If you looked at the test page) because feuds aren't being built up in account for everyone jumping around. There is NO excuse for guys like Angle, Booker, Benoit, Eddy, to not have programs built by now. Here's to Smackdown picking up another wrestler or two and the rosters remaining split and the storylines staying with that roster.
