Guest LexLugerRules Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 What will be different? Will Vince still own it? Who will be the main eventers? Who will be the commentadors? Will Wrestlemania still happen? Will the PPV's names change??
Guest Angle-plex Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 What will be different? It will be much more popular or not as popular Will Vince still own it? I'm bet Shane and Steph will Who will be the main eventers? Some guys we haven't seen yet Who will be the commentadors? Some guys we haven't seen yet Will Wrestlemania still happen? Probably What will be the PPV names? ?
Guest RicFlairGlory Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Who fucking knows. NOBODY and I mean NOBODY could have gone in 1992 and said that the WWF (err.. WWeeeeeeeeeee) would be what it is now Nobody knew HHH Nobody knew The Rock Nobody knew Kurt Angle Nobody knew Steve Austin Nobody knew *shudders* Brock Nobody knew Benoit Nobody knew Guerrero Nobody even knew fucking Michael Cole '92 you could have guessed at Hogan, would have thought he'd have retired, same with Flair, Savage. HBK might have been an outside shot, but.... pff as a Rocker at the time? Why dont we just start guessing what it'll be in the next 50 years? The WWE has drastically changed programs in a matter of months.... they dont even have extended storylines anymore, they're just barely getting back into the mode of planning more than 3 months ahead (or so Bischoff appears to be working towards). WMX8 got changed completely in just two months. Add in injuries (or HBK would have been wrestling for the last four years, probably messing with the '98/'99 boom.... I mean you think Rock would have won the tournament at SS with HBK there? Once you get more than 6 months ahead of time, you can virtually answer no questions. Shit the WWE 'made' Lesnar in under 6 months, and he's gonna be the Champ.
Guest wolverine Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 "Nobody knew Benoit" Except for the thousands of people that watched his matches in Japan.
Guest RicFlairGlory Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 "Nobody knew Benoit" Except for the thousands of people that watched his matches in Japan. Would the average, and I mean even average "smark" if there were any then, think that Benoit would be having matches with The Rock with the WWF title on the line back in 1992? Hell Fucking No. If theres one constant in wrestling, you CANT predict the future
Guest prez Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Nobody knew Steve Austin Except everyone who was watching WCW at the time.
Guest razazteca Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 UFC will be the #1 choice for fighting sports beating the other big 2 of NWA and New Japan
Guest Austin3164life Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Wrestling might become less and less popular to the point where we're going to have to watch local Indy-fed channels.
Guest Frankie Williams Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 What will be different? WWE will be known as WWEIEIO Will Vince still own it? Yes but he will be enjoying semi-retirement in his Summer residence in the the Netherland Antillies Who will be the main eventers? Hogan, Undertaker, HHH, Rock and Kevin Nash. John Cena and Randy Orton will be thisclose to proving themselves. Who will be the commentadors? There will be no commentators. 10 years in the future we wont need any.....or will we?? MUHAHAHAHAHA........MMUUUHHHAHAHAHAHA Will Wrestlemania still happen? Yes and the winner of the WrestleMania XX-9 Gimmick Battle Royal will be......The Sultan!!!! Will the PPV's names change?? Well I have Cablevision and the way things are going, who knows if they will even be carrying WWEIEIO ppv's 10 years from now.
Guest RicFlairGlory Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Nobody knew Steve Austin Except everyone who was watching WCW at the time. No, if I remember correctly, everybody knew the Hollywood Blonds and/or Stunning Steve Williams. NOT "Stone Cold Steve Austin"
Guest alfdogg Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Yes, but you didn't SAY Stone Cold Steve Austin, you just said "Steve Austin." And "Steve Austin" was in WCW at the time. So...you're wrong.
Guest RicFlairGlory Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Yes, but you didn't SAY Stone Cold Steve Austin, you just said "Steve Austin." And "Steve Austin" was in WCW at the time. So...you're wrong. Fuck You I'm better than you
Guest RicFlairGlory Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 And he was STILL "Stunning Steve Williams" at the time, so he was NOT Steve Austin, you fucking nitpicky bastard. NOBODY knew Steve Austin, because all anybody knew was Steve Williams Happy, Jackass?
Guest geniusMoment Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Actually he was called stunning steve austin in 1992
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 What's the point of a thread like this? In 10 years anything can happen in big business. I bet even 3 years ago if you claimed Enron and Worldcom would have collapsed while companies like AOL, JDSU, and Nortel teeter on the verge of implosion, you would have been labelled a quack or a fear-mongering fool or something. Although if I were to predict anything, it's that WWE will certainly outlast any other wrestling/sports entertainment companies in North America.

Although if I were to predict anything, it's that WWE will certainly outlast any other wrestling/sports entertainment companies in North America. That's why the point of this thread is to just guess what it will be like. He didn't ask for specific predictions. Where's the problem?
Guest alfdogg Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 And he was STILL "Stunning Steve Williams" at the time, so he was NOT Steve Austin, you fucking nitpicky bastard. NOBODY knew Steve Austin, because all anybody knew was Steve Williams Happy, Jackass? No...because you're still wrong. He was ALWAYS "Stunning Steve Austin" in WCW. He was also Steve Austin in USWA before that. Everybody knows that...except you, apparently.
Guest Ph34r Tha Leaf Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 If theres one constant in wrestling, you CANT predict the future ... Not. The WWFE always will try to repeat itself and always does. I picture the NWA going out of business ECW style (lets hope not) and the WWE buying them since Vince LOVES buying out his competition. They was have a WWE TNA Invasion angle all over again. It flops again and we have the same cycle that we have now.
Guest Frankie Williams Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Austin was Stunning in the USWA too.
Guest mickberna Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 I bet even 3 years ago if you claimed Enron and Worldcom would have collapsed while companies like AOL, JDSU, and Nortel teeter on the verge of implosion, you would have been labelled a quack or a fear-mongering fool or something. Actually, I predicted AOL would die when I first tried it back in 1996 because it FUCKING SUCKS AND ALWAYS WILL SUCK! AOL killed WCW. AOL killed Warner Bros. AOL killed the hope of people actually learning how to use a fucking computer with their idiot-proof design software. I hate AOL, and I hope it folds. It will be the best thing to happen to the media once the lame-ass ISP giant is felled. My hope is that Rupert Murdoch buys AOL for pennies and runs it into the ground for kicks. Kinda like Vince! Yay, ranting!
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 I hate AOL just as much (love the names gAyOL and AOhell) but I wouldn't have ever thought they'd be crumbling down like they are now. One would have always expected that a crappy, newbie-friendly, commercial ISP would be there because people don't know any better.
Guest chirs3 Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 What will be different? ----> I don't think too much will be different, aside from the wrestlers. Doubtful that any new belts will crop up, or match types. Will Vince still own it? ----> OWN, yes, but he'll probably leave Shane and Steph to run it. Who will be the main eventers? ----> Triple H will be in year 4 of his reign. Sorry, I had to. All joking aside, this you can't predict. ME'ers two or three years from now, yea, but not ten. Who will be the commentadors? ----> None of the current ones, unless there is a God and he convinces JR to stay. Will Wrestlemania still happen? ----> It better. Will the PPV's names change?? ----> Probably, but none of the big ones. Mania, Summerslam, Survivor Series, Royal Rumble will all still be around.
Guest Brian Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 JR's already a shell of his former self and has just become a shill basically for the main events.
Guest Brian Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 He's okay, but there's got to be something better on the horizon and...I actually prefer Cole and Tazz to Kin and JR, especially at the pay per view, because they do a much, much better job putting over non-main eventers and making those contrived mid-card feuds seem somewhat important.
Guest RicFlairGlory Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Oh just shut up and HHHate And I'm still better than you
Guest Midnight Express83 Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 1: money for a fed is in the main events, so you shill the main events because thats were your draws are. 2: Steve Austin has been stunning since 1990 until he left WCW in 1994. 3: Benoit has been known by wrestlers since the late 80s. He went through stampede(so they know him) to Japan( so they know him), to WCW(So they know him), to Japan(more of a major name), to ECW(even bigger of a name) to WCW again. 4: Saying HBK had an outside shot is just kidding yourself. Watch EVERY WWF comp tape from 88 to 93, HBK and Bret Hart shown in great match after great match basiclly showing that they were the next to make the big time. HBK as world champ might have been a strech back then, but you knew both would be impact players. 5: WWF 10 years from now will be different package, same shit. New faces, same ol' shit.
Guest Brian Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Wrong. Money for the feds happens when fans care about the whole product. Bring them in for the main events and give them a reason to watch the mid-card. But if you turn them off on eighty percent of the show, that's not going to help. Main events sell pay per views, mid-cards keep them coming back. Heck, the WWF's best drawing periods have been when they've had a strong undercard to support the main event. The same can be said for WCW. Nobody sells a show on only the top one or two matches or else they'd just announce the main events to pay per views and book on the way to the stadium. Look at how the last few pay per views have pretty much failed; even WrestleMania wasn't as good as originally thought despite the fact that Rock/Hogan was there. Benoit had a short run in the WWF in 1995 and the had the option of picking him up before everyone else and chose not to.
Guest RicFlairGlory Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Yes but HBK is not a current wrestler or a champion, and neither is Bret Hart. Would you have guessed that in 1992?
Guest SlowChemical6 Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 In 10 years... Austin will be retired whether or not he comes back in the meantime. Rock will be 40 years old. He might still be around if he doesn't leave for Hollywood in the meantime. HHH will be 41 or 42. He will probably be gearing up to win his 20th WWE title. Undertaker will be retired. Probably be a road agent. Benoit will probably be retired, being in his mid to upper 40s. Probably be a road agent. Weird to think about the "young stallions" being middle-aged.
