Guest RicFlairGlory Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 I, for one, am going to try to go to SummerSlam live, just because I was robbed of seeing HBK live on more than one occasion, and I'd mark for seeing his last match. I know its not gonna be great, as I'm sure all of you do But lets discuss it for the hell of things! How sloppy you think its gonna be?
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 There is only one phrase to describe this turn of events. *growlmumblespithisstriplehisaspotlighthoggingpeiceofshit*
Guest RicFlairGlory Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 But at least he's not going to hold down Chris Jericho...... this time...
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 Well... either HHH gets to retire another legend... OR A face actually wins a blowoff against a heel HHH (HAHAHAHAHAHA) Actually...I'd rather HHH win this time. he was scheduled to face his friend Nash...he got hurt...so he'll face his friend HBK. If HHH jobs...then it's almost like HHH hand picks the people he jobs too...and they happen to be his friends. So... Go HHH!
Guest chirs3 Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 Anyone else think this angle could have benefitted from happening... say... earlier than 3 weeks before the PPV?
Guest Human Fly Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 HBK went out after a good match with SCSA, he should've left well enough alone. This match will probably not be very good at all. I'd rather watch HBK tapes then see him and HHH put on a snoozer where HBK doesn't bump as well as Lillian Garcia and Mae Young.
Guest Dangerous A Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 I am going to go the high and mighty route and watch the match first. Then I will give it the proper praise/thrashing that it will deserve.
Guest Nezbyte Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 But at least he's not going to hold down Chris Jericho...... this time... Hopefully by next PPV
Guest claydude14 Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 i think this is going to be an explosive match of rock-hogan proportions, where it doesn't matter if it sucks, it will simply be electric. marks love hbk. i love hbk. hbk has to win, for his proper retirement.
Guest CanadianChick Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 Anyone else think this angle could have benefitted from happening... say... earlier than 3 weeks before the PPV? Thats more time than 90% of angles get to build matches nowadays..

Speaking of which, do you HAVE any HBK tapes? All I have now is RR '98, WMX-XII, the DX Video, and if you want to count WMXV... ::laughs:: Sadly right now I dont think i could offer more than Royal Rumble 2000, but may I remind you that the HHH / Cactus Jack title match was one of the best matches of the year...
Guest HartFan86 Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 I am going to go the high and mighty route and watch the match first. Then I will give it the proper praise/thrashing that it will deserve. Ditto. If it sucks...then it does. If it doesn't, then we praise it.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 I'm not going to bash the HHH vs. HBK match until after the match. However, I'm hoping it's a half decent match, since it will be HBK's last match. It would be nice to see HBK win, but if HHH has any say, he'll choose to get the win, or job to HBK since he's his friend. I'm actually predicting an HBK victory, and HHH shaking his hand at the end of the match for a good match. This could be something like the Rock vs. Hogan from Wrestlemania 18, except HHH vs. HBK.
Guest RicFlairGlory Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 Yeah but it still better be good, because Hogan/Rock didnt get marks for being a good match, it got marks because it was Hogan and Rock and as much as HBK marks like myself, and HHH marks.... wait... there arent any... oh fuck it, anyways, HBK is no Hogan, and HHH is no Rock
Guest papacita Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 I seriously doubt that the match would be bad, because knowing Shawn, he wouldn't dare step into the ring again if he wasn't capable of a good match. This won't meet WM X standards by a long shot, but Shawn and HHH should probably be able work out a good match.
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 Expectations for this match are pretty low, seeing as HBK hasn't stepped inside the ring in 4 years and HHH's ability has been sub-par since his return. However, the Kliq has been known to always turn it up a notch when they're fighting each other, so it could be better than any of us could ever anticipate, or it could suck cow balls.

If HBK knew that he couldn't wrestle a half decent match, he wouldn't have even went ahead with this idea. Instead, he would have chosen that someone else be the culprit, and that superstar face HHH at SummerSlam. This match won't be *****, that much I do know. However, I'm thinking this match will be at least ***1/2. Also, the buildup should be good since it's the first time we've seen HHH vs. HBK.
Guest Human Fly Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 I hope someone has "Chariots of Fire" at the ready after this match is over.
Guest Austin3164life Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 Shawn's last feud with Austin in 98 was a hot feud with Tyson in the mix, which culminated in a solid Main Event in one of the best WMs ever. He went out on a good note passing the torch to Austin. Damn, Triple H really wants to steal all of Austin's thunder. Instead of saying "HBK passed the torch to Austin" they'll say "HBK passed the torch to Triple H". Smell the hidden irony.
Guest Shaved Bear Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 is there a way for both of them to lose... damn HHH is gonna win, retirement matches aren't won
Guest jester Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 "One and Only HHH vs. HBK at SS Thread, > So we can keep this shitfest contained" "So we can keep this shitfest contained." Isn't that the reason they're wrestling each other at Summerslam?
Guest Shaved Bear Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 to think people filled Nassau in 90 min for this
Guest Quik Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 Anyone think Karma will rear it's head again, and leave Trips with a torn quad and Shawn with a broken back after a botched Irish whip?
Guest DJ Jeff Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 Anyone think Karma will rear it's head again, and leave Trips with a torn quad and Shawn with a broken back after a botched Irish whip? That would just suck if that happened. I'm really hoping for a half decent match, but if I get a crappy match, I still won't be disappointed.
Guest The Amazing Rando Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 Ladies and gentlemen......last night at Summerslam the world watched as two great competitors, Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Shawn Micheals...left the Nassau Coliseum never to wrestle again... Hunter suffered another quad injury that actually completely ripped his leg off from the knee down....Shawn Micheals also took one Flair Flop too many and can barely stand up, let alone walk... In related news...it seemed as though when EMTs were working with them both in the ring, a lone fan hijacked the sound system and began playing "Chariots of Fire" in a continuous loop....before also taking over the video equipment and began playing Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart from Wrestlemania 10 over the Titantron....
Guest evenflowDDT Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 I'm actually much more interested how in the segment tonight, HBK admitted he wasn't able to wrestle, but that he was going to show his son how to fight. I usually don't like brawls, or HHH, or even HBK (sorry RicFlairGlory!) but I DO love how they set this one up, so even if it is just a brawl I'm interested. I don't understand the point of HHH wasting time bothering everyone else over the course of the show though... but hey, nothing's perfect.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 Screw this "wait & see" stuff. This match is going to suck long and suck hard. This match is going to suck more than Missy Hyatte in the lockerroom in the '80's. A cripple vs. a guy whose last good match was the one he was injured in over a year ago.
Guest Michael Joel Benoit Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 I say this match will be ***. Or **1/2 that's all I want.
Guest pochorenella Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 So let me get this straight: If HHH wins he's selfish because he holds people down, and if HBK wins then they're both selfish because they only help one another? Are you serious? Come on, give the match a chance. They haven't even wrestled yet but still you say the match sucks already. I don't care what most people say. I love Shawn Michaels THE WRESTLER, and I will mark out for him at SummerSlam, wether the match is good, bad, his last, or whatever, because HBK's BACK!
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 The match is going to be B A D. Im just wondering who is going to stink it up more. Wouldn't it be something if HHH stinks it up more than a guy thats been out of the ring for 4 years?
