Guest jester Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 The match is going to be B A D. Im just wondering who is going to stink it up more. Wouldn't it be something if HHH stinks it up more than a guy thats been out of the ring for 4 years? The way I look at it is this: Michaels has an excuse. HHH doesn't. And nobody give me any excuses about his injury. If he's injured, he shouldn't be wrestling, especially in a match where he's going to have to carry the other guy.
Guest Razor Roman Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 So, since this won't be a wrestling match, I guess we'll probably get the obligatory "Street Fight" stipulation? They both bleed like stuck pigs, and HHH takes a sick bump... but still wins. That way the blood makes up for the poor match quality.

I'd much rather see this than any sort of "wrestling match", which is why I'm glad HHH & HBK said it (or, to be more accurate, hinted at it in their exchange of dialogue) so that everyone who doesn't want to see it or is expecting a huge spectacle is adequately warned. Don't you wish other wrestlers would do the same?
Guest Michael Joel Benoit Posted August 7, 2002 Report Posted August 7, 2002 The Royal Rumble Street Fight was a ***** classic. Maybe they are hinting for something like that. Or maybe HBK will actually be wrestling longer than Summerslam who knows?

Or maybe HBK will actually be wrestling longer than Summerslam who knows? No doubt they will be trying to conjure up memories of the Royal Rumble street fight. Wether it lives up to that legacy is up to HHH and HBK. HHH & Foley had a lot to gain going into the Rumble. It was HHH's first chance to really prove himself as a draw and Foley's chance to go out on top. HHH has nothing to prove now, but working with his "best friend" may bring something good out in him. I guess HBK wants to prove he is still useful. Either way, I won't be dropping $40 on SummerSlam this year.
Guest Respect The 'Taker Posted August 8, 2002 Report Posted August 8, 2002 Go HHH! Take note of that, you'll never, EVER, see that again Okay, guess i better make a first too .... FIRE THE UNDERTAKER! ...I feel so dirty This has been the Taker Mark
Guest Brian Posted August 8, 2002 Report Posted August 8, 2002 I figured it out. Why HHH turned heel. so simple. Vince is trying to catch lightning in a bottle. The WWE's most succesful period, in terms of PPV's, buyrates, and attendance was without Austin; it was with HHH. Vince is trying to rewrite history. He's minimizing the roles of Rock and the strong undercard of 2000, and trying to focus solely on putting HHH back as the top heel. What a sad situation.
Guest OlympicHeroY2J Posted August 10, 2002 Report Posted August 10, 2002 After reading the Ross Report and thinking about what was said on Raw.....is this set to be an actual match ? I know it won't entail wrestling, but will be a street fight, but is there going to be a referee and a winner or a loser ? If you remember, we saw Undertaker/DDP "fight" at King of the Ring 2001 and it turned out to both suck and blow. Could we be seeing the same thing this year with a 5-minute blow-off fight and then nothing else ? I hope not. I hope this is going to be a real match with a referee, a good amount of time (maybe 20-25 minutes), a story, and most importantly a winner and a loser. However, with the WWE, you never know. We could be seeing HHH/HBK or we could be seeing Undertaker/DDP Part II......
Guest AndrewTS Posted August 10, 2002 Report Posted August 10, 2002 Naw...thing is, the DDP/Taker thing was "unsanctioned." Hence, no ref or a real match. I'm thinking this will be one of those "street fights." Sanctioned, ref, winner and loser--all that jazz. So likely a "street fight." Despite the fact that it's really basically just a No DQ match, doesn't take place on the streets, and I don't expect HHH to do a Tiger Uppercut (maybe a flying knee. ) or HBK to be tossing Hadokens. Of course...if this was 10 years ago and was WCW.... Man, did I get off track in a hurry or what?
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted August 10, 2002 Report Posted August 10, 2002 I say wait till we see the match before we declare it sucks.
