Hogan Refuses To Work Australia Show Due To Money, Problems With WWE

Posted By Ashish on 08.08.02

It is becoming clear now that Hulk Hogan will not be working the WWE Australia show this weekend due to money. Hogan had told Vince McMahon that he would not go on the 16 hour flight and work the show unless he was compensated for the extra time. McMahon gave him no response and then announced that he would not be on the show.

Hogan is also now upset that WWE was making jokes about him at the recent Australia press conference. When a WWE spokesman said that Hogan was 49, the Rock joked that he was actually 52. Hogan is said to be upset about that comment.

Obviously problems are starting to brew between WWE and Hulk Hogan. We will have more as it develops.

Hogan shouldn;'t take that seriously. Besides, I would want more money to be a on a 16 friggin hour flight to a country i never been too. Does WWE Even have that many fans down under? Caus eI thought they were limited to like 3 channels, 2 of them being static.

I thought Hogan was 73?

Before he retires, I want to see his final match be against a retiring Undertaker (who should come out old school monster. I would SO mark out for the bong and urn.)

He should at least try and stick around till Wrestlemania, and retire there.

As much as they're paying Hogan..he shouldn't be complaining. He's lucky to be ON TV at all.

How much IS he getting anyway? I never really cared enough to actually look.

imagine if we can get paid to go on trips with the WWE superstars...yet he has the chance and refuses it

If this is true (and coming from 1wrestling, that is a big if) fuck Hogan.

How many other wrestlers want more money?

Everyone.

Ok, so I don't keep up woith australian fan base. But really, who REALLY likes beeing on 16 hour flights? I can barely stand an hour, maybe horu and a half. but SIXTEEN? holy christ. Besides, smackdown has Benoit, Rock, angle, Eddie, Edge as top stars. Losing Hogan for it isn't gonna hurt THAT much.

Thats not the point,

the point is (if its true) he's being a selfish prick

Well If its in his contract, then he would be a prick. But I doubt it's written in his contract he has to do tours in other countries. He didn't do Insurrection i don't think (the england ppv) in may.

Insurrection was a RAW show that Hogan wasn't booked on to begin with, so he didn't have to.

Damn!! This roster Split is pissing me off, its screwing up my facts. LoL

I don't see what's the big deal. Book Hogan against a lowcarder and have him do the typical Hulk match. It'll make the crowd happy and in the future when the WWE comes there they'll want to see them more

If Hogan is so self conscience about his age, then maybe he should... Oh I don't know... retire maybe?

Hogan should throw a 49th birthday party, just for the 'camp value' of it. Then of course, some heel runs in to ruin it, cake shot. Start a small feud.

Guest nWoScorpion

How often does WWE recognize a wrestlers birthday on TV? lol

Guest Shaved Bear

people already think hogan is at least 400

i'm sure Hogan getting the fans to sing 'Happy Birthday' to him would be surreal

Nah, Ross is more fun to do that to. After all, it's HIS fault Hossamania runs wild in the WWE.

Remember people. Rikishi. Henry. Albert. Bull.

Ross = Satan.

I don't know if they want Hogan down there anyway, unless he was really over down there before. if the purpose of the trip is to get Australians into wrestling, having a 52 year old man (heh) hang around is not the way to do it.

Did Goldust go? If he did, he HAS to do the Crocodile Hunter thing again.

Eh, it was only a matter of time before Hogan started to get some heat with the Creative Team and Vince.
