WWE Contract Renewals

WWE has signed a bunch of wrestlers to contract extentions. Bautista, Cena, Nidia, Linda Miles, Jackie Gayda, Maven and Molly Holly.

The Tough Enough contracts are structured to give $52,000 as a downside guarantee for the first year, and $78,000 for the second year.

All developmental wrestlers to be contracted by WWE for the main roster have contracts which get greater for every year in the deal. The first year is guaranteed, and the next two years of the deal are WWE options.

Let me repeat a sentiment repeated umpteen times on this board..

They fired Mike Sanders but kept Linda & Jackie?

I can't believe they'd even let Jackie appear on TV ever again, let alone get a longer contract.

and the WWF wonders why their ratings are falling

It's all so Vince can make out with yet another diva on national tv.

I think eventually he's gonna run out of divas and have to resort to actually kissing his wife.

Nah, he'll go to the fans first.

They had to, sadly. They are just about to launch Tough Enough 3. They can't release one of the winners of Tough Enough 2. That's basically coming out and saying "Tough Enough guys suck." They have to keep her around, otherwise they damage the credibility of TE. In the eyes of the marks anyway.

I hope she makes something of herself. Word is she was crushed by that infamous match. It would be great if she found a way to come back and succeed.

While I'm dreaming, it would also be great if RVD got the big push and every episode of Raw wasn't Triple H: The Miniseries.

I think Jackie/Harvard v. Trish/Bradshaw kinda already damanged the credibility

Well, nobody from TE is really burning up the ring. Unless they can get someone from that show over as a wrestler, I think the novelty will eventually wear off.

It's pretty sad that the person from that show who has had the most success in the wwe is the one who didn't win.

That right there suggests to me that the entire aspect of the show is skewed.

I disagree there. Maven was pretty over before he was injured, and when he comes back he'll be the bastard who worked something like nine minutes with a broken leg.

- Mike Van Siclen.

And can we forget that magnificent specimen, Nidia?

I'll give you Maven, only because he could still surprise me when he returns, but Nowinski is way more over and talented than Nidia.

I have heard of talented Mike Sanders, yet I have not had the privelage of seeing any of his matches. Any tape recommendations? I'm interested in seeing one of his better matches.

don't argue Chris/Nidia. TE 1 was SUPPOSE to have 1 male winner, 1 female (unlike the TE 2 screw job lol)

Maven was picked because the WWF didn't have enough unibrows.

The Nidia thing was a joke. However... can anyone else see (or maybe it's blatantly obvious) the Maven/Nowinski feud that they've been brewing since the Tough Enough 2 final show?

- Mike Van Siclen.

Maybe it's obvious...

Can someone please tell me who this Mike Sanders dude is? I've heard of him quite a bit, but I haven't seen him wrestle. Has he wrestled in any other wrestling organization besides the WWE? Also, what's up with his pony? What's that all about? Now, on to the Tough Enough contestants getting contract extensions. Since they are from Tough Enough, releasing them would lessen the value of Tough Enough.

As much as Mike Sanders was enjoyed by me for his mic skills, his release isn't causing marks to flee the WWE.

Hell, I'd bet most of them have never heard of him anyways.

and what does Brock Lesnar have to do with Mike Sanders?

You're just trying to troll me.

Nope, just useing him as an example.

Give the man a chance to get noticed.

Funaki disserves a raise for him jobbing 99.99999999999999999% of his matches in the years 2001 & 2002.

Mike Sanders was in WCW during the Russo rampage. "Above Average" was his nickname, and should you care there is an extensive column on 411 about him. He was the leader of the Natural Born Thrillers, the green group of Power Plant guys that were thrust into the spotlight to try to save the dying WCW.

This group also included:

Shawn Stasiak

"The Main Event" Chuck Palumbo (Yes...THAT Chuck. He was pushed as the new Lex Luger. Even though the old one sucked.)

Shawn O' Haire (Still in OVW I believe)

Mark Jindrak (ditto)

Johnny the Bull (Stamboli)

While it doesn't sound like much to say, he was the most talented of the group and BY FAR was the best mic worker, even verbally sparring with Ric Flair and coming out looking good. He was even WCW Commish and had the Cruiserweight--or was it TV?--title for a while.

Guess which one is the most successful? Yup...the ugly and still green Chuck after a bleachjob. Although, he has excuse for sucking this early in his career. Gunn don't have one.

I don't think Mike Sanders has had any good matches, he is a good mic worker though.
