Raw Rating

--Raw on Monday drew a 4.0 rating. It's the best number since the week after Bischoff arrived and makes three consecutive major WWE TV shows that have increased over the previous week.

I don't think I need to mention this, but Test has been on Raw for 3 weeks now. His hard-hitting promo in the first segment, drew viewers in.

Thats good news

So much wrong with that, that I can't even be bothered. Your gimmick is really getting tiresome.

LoL @ TestKick.

Test is pretty entertaining to me personally.

But Raw is Bischoff!!

It's not a "gimmick", what I said was true, and you can't dispute that.

Seriously, I think it's just because Summer is winding down, and people are hanging indoors more now.

I hope that Vince & Co. don't look at the rating and think that the actual show is what produced the rating.

The show sucked. The good shows leading up to this Raw are what made that rating.

I can't dispute that Test cut a good promo? ummmm, i think i probably could.

So True

but Raw only went up .1 and that was after giving away Triple H VS Rock although I think the RAWafter Summerslam will probably go up.

This makes two weeks in a row that I haven't watched RAW so I don't know whether the show was good or bad. I suppose the increase in ratings is a good thing, but I can't say that I know what to attribute it to. It seems like I always find something better to do instead of watching wrestling now. I kind of want to see Smackdown to see how the last batch of hype before Summerslam turns out, but I know I'm not going to watch it.

It was bad. So very, very bad.

Why? Do you think Joe Six-Pack, the average guy watching Raw, is some big fanboy with Flair tapes lined up on the walls? Do you think he argues with his friends about whether Benoit or Eddie is the Greatest Current Active Wrestler In The Known Universe? Do you think he's some workrate freak who orgasms over psychology?

I doubt it. If he was, Rikishi wouldn't be in the WWF still and Jeff Hardy wouldn't be getting a push.

I think the decent shows before as well as the allure of the Rock/HHH match, a feud has headlined a number of PPVs in the past and even produced a good IronMan years ago, brought people in.

I think the fact that Triple H vs. The Rock, a big time match that has backstory to it, was announced a week before led to the slight rating increase. People had something (that made sense) to look forward to. Usually you have to wait until like 9:45-10:00 to find out the Main Event of Raw, after pointless arguments. When they announce a big match it creates more anticipation. I argued this in the "Impromptu vs. Announced Matches" thread.

Great news? How is this great news?

I smell concerts, mud wrestling, and crappy backstage skits leading to crappy 3 minute matches in our future.

EDIT: And let's not forget those awesome HHH promos.

maybe Pantera can finally perform on WWE then, and they can bring back Walk

It's great news because the ratings went up. Plain and simple.

This short raise in the ratings will be gone in 3 weeks, so enjoy it while it lasts.

Sheesh testkick, you're not very optimistic.

Well, I am glad the ratings went up, but the show needed more Chris Nowinski! I was quite peeved not to see on Raw this week.

We want Chris! We want Chris! Enough with Big Show! Also more Test, Mowwy, and Flair.

I hope that Fozzy's ratings were the low point. Nothing against the music, but I HATE FUCKING MUSICIANS ON WRESTLING PROGRAMS. It's just wrong. The mud wrestling is pretty worthless too.

I agree DA, I hate womens mud wrestling(obviously) and musicians can stay on MTV and MuchMusic as far as I'm concerned

I'm not negative, I just don't think .2 changes in rating mean anything. I don't think the slight ratings increase lately has anything to do with the shows being put on... It's because Summer is ending, school is starting, and kids are hanging out at home during the night.

Seriously, there's not many people out there that tell their friends "OMG, Bischoff is on Raw! You gotta watch!", and then they start watching.

The only times I take any interest into ratings, is if they constantly raise or fall for increments of 3-4 months at the least. It takes that long for the word to spread around that wrestling is "hip" again.

With MNF regular season on again in 3 weeks, and the new season of shows coming soon... Raw ratings will slightly drop to where they were before. If not, then I'm shocked.

TestKick bringing some serious arguments and knowledge to the table!

DA likes a lot.

I hated Chris Nowinksi because of how he portrayed himself on Tough Enough...but dude, he has a nice little schtick going now. He's not too bad in the ring, either. Green, yes, but that's to be expected, and he owns the other rookies.
