when the road dogg was title holder I started to get into the belt because he made the matches interesting. when he got injured the belt was traded between bossman, holly, and snow. the road dogg never did return to the hardcore division as I think his fans would have liked.

the road dogg's time with the hardcore title was probably my favorite in the belts existance, mainly because it was really the only time the belt was over.

tommy dreamer winning the title should have turned the belt around, especially since that the 24/7 rule was gone.

My favorite Hardcore moment?

Backlash 2001: Rhyno Gores the shopping cart.

Yeah, Raven/Rhyno was one helluva match. I really enjoyed that. Shows what those guy could do given time.

That be my moment as well, that or the match at X-7 with Kane in the golf cart.

The golf cart was classic!

Someone should make video of all classic hardcore moments set to sappy music!

I agree with the Rhyno/Raven match. Probably the only match that was tolerable on the whole show. Besides Angle/Benoit

rvd v. jeff hardy, from invasion--jeff KILLS rob with a ddt, rob landing squarely on his head. jeff gave him a ddt, but rob was in position like it was a piledriver. i'd seen some rvd matches from ecw, but i'd never seen him take a ddt before. one of the most amazing things i'd ever seen, & to this day rob van dam taking a ddt is one of my favorite frequently-used spots in wrestling.

Ummm...

Shane falling off the side of the TitanTron at SS 2000, and then Blackman FOLLOWING HIM DOWN WITH AN ELBOW, MUCH?

Thank you.

The only times people actually cared: Rhyno/Raven period, Bossman/Mankind/Road Dogg period, Blackman period, maybe in the Dreamer period.

The 24/7 thing killed the belt dead. One month is fine, but after that it became lame.

Crash in the kids play area is one of mine, too...

Hurricane's short lived reign is another one. He should be in the Main Event, damnit!

My favorite moment was when it was unified with the I.C. title and buried forever. I've hated the hardcore title since day one.

Recently, the Dreamer period was golden, I loved it. Dreamer was my favorite ECW guy, and still is one of my favorite wrestlers of all time. Dreamer/Richards cane match was priceless.

RVD/Taker for the Hardcore was nice too....

Although my all time favorite has to be the inception of the Hardcore belt.

"Thanks... DAD!"

(I hope that I'm quoting the right bit, but Foley and McMahon were awesome back in the day)

The Battle Royal at Wrestlemania 2000, and the preceeding couple of months. At the time I just assumed that the 24/7 rule was just to build up to the big Wrestlemania match, and would have been dropped afterwards. I don't know why they continued with it long after it lost all interest.

Raven/Rhyno was great (well, anything with Raven was)

the stuff with Dreamer was great

the hardcore battle royal from WM2K was good

The RVD era was the best Hardcore era for me. He really got to showcase a lot of his ECW style moves and he really got over with the fans then.

The only time I found the Hardcore Title tolerable was during the Road Mutt/Al Snow mini-feud which pretty much had the best WWE hardcore match I've ever seen.

The belt was really cool with Rhyno and Raven in the spring of 2001. Loved the Backlash match. I also found the belt entertaining when the 24/7 rule was brand new. Watching the Mean Street Posse bumble their way through airports, locker rooms and such was too much fun. Can't forget Crash vs. the Headbangers at "Fun Time U.S.A" or when Crash fought off Patterson and Brisco to meet up with Sameul L Jackson (aka Shaft) at WWF New York. The Steve Blackman and RVD hardcore reigns were fun as well.

I'm gonna miss the belt, I was hoping that after the 24/7 rule was killed and it was given to Dreamer that maybe the belt could be treated a bit more seriously.

Its early days (Road Dogg) and its final days (Dreamer)...

When VKM handed the belt to Mankind. I was a mark for the Vince/Foley relationship during that time.
