Guest DJ Jeff Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 They showed a commmercial for the Survivor Series, at least on TSN as far as I know, and it looks like the new Saliva song, "Always", is the theme. Pretty kick ass if you ask me.

Guest DJ Jeff Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 yeah....you like that song so much, you put it in your sig. good work... *cough* Actually, yes, I do. When I like a song, as much as this, I like to show everyone that I do.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 I am surprised they are airing the SS promo early - it should be a big show.
Guest evenflowDDT Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 Gasp! What does this have to do with the PPV? Seriously... what does... it seems like some kind of demented love song, could this mean HHH/Steph reunion? OMG!!!!!

Seriously... what does... it seems like some kind of demented love song, could this mean HHH/Steph reunion? OMG!!!!! What did "Broken" by 12 Stones, or "Downfall" by Trust Company have to do with Judgment Day and Vengeance? What about "Feel So Numb" by Rob Zombie? What did that have to do with No Way Out, and what did "Click, Click Boom" by Saliva have to do with No Mercy 2001? These songs don't really fit the PPV, but they're killer.

I dunno, but I like it when the songs fit the theme of the PPV, like "Control" did for Survivor Series 2K1.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 Let's do a quick rundown of the PPV themes, and somehow see if they fit the PPV: SummerSlam 2001: "Bodies" by Drowning Pool....It was a wrestling PPV, so yeah, it went fairly well. No Mercy 2001: "Click, Click Boom" by Saliva....Didn't fit. Survivor Series 2001: "Control" by Puddle Of Mudd....This one fit well since the main event determined whether the Alliance or the WWE went out of business. Vengeance 2001: "Sinner" by Drowning Pool....Didn't fit. Royal Rumble 2002: "Cocky" by Kid Rock....Kinda fit since Jericho was defending the Undisputed WWE Title, and he was acting cocky. No Way Out 2002: "Feel So Numb" by Rob Zombie....Didn't really fit. Wrestlemania 18: "Superstar" by Saliva.....Fit, since it was Wrestlemania, and stars are made at Wrestlemania, and "Tear Away" by Drowning Pool....That didn't really fit. Backlash 2002: "Young Grow Old" by Creed....HHH lost the WWE Undisputed Title to Hogan, so it was the young(HHH) losing the title to the old(Hogan), so it fit fairly well. Judgment Day 2002: "Broken" by 12 Stones....Didn't really fit, unless you consider that it was Hogan vs. the Undertaker in the main event, or something like that. Didn't fit. King of the Ring 2002: "Ride of Your Life" by Neurotica....Didn't really fit. Vengeance 2002: "Downfall" by Trust Company....Didn't fit that well. Survivor Series 2002: "Always" by Saliva....Doesn't really fit. So, only 5 themes actually fit the PPVs.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 Why is Jeff obsessed with the theme songs for these shows? Remember when he was on a quest for the theme to some show before? Packwingfn is also a super-mark. Maybe he's part of Austin420's Funky Bunch. Oh, and if any mods see this, PLEASE KILL THE HEADBANGING EMOTICON. IT IS LAME. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest papacita Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 "Tear Away" by Drowning Pool....That didn't really fit. C'mon, Jeff! Everybody knows that "Tear Away" tells the story of HHH Vs Y2J! :scoff: KEEP UP TO SPEED, MAN! GEEZ!
Guest KingOfOldSchool Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 I like the headbanging emoticon, but Jeff has perverted it and it's no longer respectable. And let it be said that Saliva is poo.
Guest geniusMoment Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 Am I the only one who wishes Vince would break out some Soundgarden or Alice-n-Chains for the ppv's. I hate this nu-metal. Maybe even some doors if I pray. The soft parade perhaps or the end
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 Man, all of those songs fucking suck.
Guest Raven_Effect01 Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 I've had a song idea for a WWE PPV for a long time: "No Way Out" by Stone Temple Pilots for the next WWE No Way Out PPV.
Guest subliminal_animal Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 What did "Broken" by 12 Stones, or "Downfall" by Trust Company have to do with Judgment Day and Vengeance? "Broken" was an awesome song to use. I wouldn't have like it much if I got familair with it in a traditional context, but seeing it up against the moving match graphics made it badass.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 Maybe they should try using different kinds of music. I mean, this nu-metal and all is nifty, but I'd KILL to hear some Digweed used for a video package or even a whole PPV. "Virtua Trancer" would be great. How's about a little rap too? Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest art_vandelay Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 Yeah! When is Kylie Minogue ever going to get one of her songs used in a wrestling promo?
Guest DJ Jeff Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 Perhaps the WWE should use one of Eminem's songs to promote a PPV. Or, even a Daft Punk song. Really be different.
Guest HartFan86 Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 I like Always. It's a cool song.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 I always thought "Tear Away"'s chorus described Rock and Hogan's careers pretty well. Especially Hogan's.
Guest Michael Joel Benoit Posted October 3, 2002 Report Posted October 3, 2002 DJ Jeff, when you were figuring out the themes fitting you forgot the best one of them all. "My Way" used at Wrestlemania X-Seven. That went well with the ppv and the main event because both Austin and Rock wanted the belt. That was simply that. And yeah, I would like if the WWE used different kinds of music for their ppvs.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted October 3, 2002 Report Posted October 3, 2002 "My Way" was horrible. I almost put my fist through the tc every time I heard it. It proved to me why Limp Bizkit suck so bad.
Guest treble charged Posted October 3, 2002 Report Posted October 3, 2002 "My Way" was horrible. I almost put my fist through the tc every time I heard it. It proved to me why Limp Bizkit suck so bad. Why? What did I do?
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted October 3, 2002 Report Posted October 3, 2002 Bah. I mean TV and you know it....though I want to pumch you half the time too.
Guest treble charged Posted October 3, 2002 Report Posted October 3, 2002 Bah. I mean TV and you know it....though I want to pumch you half the time too. I don't know what a 'pumch' is, but it sure doesn't sound good.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted October 3, 2002 Report Posted October 3, 2002 I don't know what a 'pumch' is, but it sure doesn't sound good. Wow. He made one typo. Obviously his post in indecypherable and has lost it's point.
