Guest Anglesault Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 With the elimination of the Euro, IC and Hardcore titles lately, the number of people who can lay claim to having a chance of holding all four major titles (Grand Slam winners) has basically lowered significantly. Right now, the onlt Grand Slam winners are HHH, HBK and Chris Jericho. Off the top of my head, the people who can still get Grand Slam are Christian, William Regal, Test and Kurt Angle. If you include Hardcore title reigns to make 5 major titles, they are Chris Jericho. Christian, Test and Kurt can still win them Are there any other people who still have a shot of completeing the Grand Slam?
Guest Lord of The Curry Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 Can't really think of anybody, though Christian only needs to take the World Title and he'll have won every single mens championship. Though that will never fuckin happen.
Guest razazteca Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 but Kane has won everything else right? WWF title, IC, WWF & WCW Tag, Hardcore? And now going after the Big Gold One.
Guest chirs3 Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 The Grand Slam title means they won Euro, Tag, IC, and World, right?
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 Jericho has held every male title except the new tag titles being created on SD! He's even in the lineage of the cruiser title. He's been WWE champ, big fake gold belt champ, tag champ, IC champ, cruiser champ, euro champ, and hardcore champ
Guest AndrewTS Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 Technically...the Intercontinental Title is, as of now, the Hardcore US Eurocontinental Title. It isn't exactly like the titles were simply eliminated, though they should have renamed the IC to reflect then new lineage somewhat.
Guest Mad Dog Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 Who can still be a grand slam champ: D'Lo Brown: Needs World and Tag Jeff Jarrett: Needs World Val Venis: Needs World and Tag Christian: Needs World William Regal: Needs World and Tag Test: Needs World Jeff Hardy: Needs World Kurt Angle: Needs Tag Eddie Guerrero: Needs World and Tag People who can still join the elite WCW/WWF World title holders are: Chris Benoit Booker T
Guest The Superstar Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 No, I don't think so. He was in the tournament after HHH vacated it, but Shamrock won. That and the Four way at No Way Out are the closest he got.
Guest Midnight Express83 Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 LIst of Grandslam champs: Jericho HHH HBK List of people who only need world to be grandslam champ: Benoit Jeff Jarrett Christian Jeff Hardy Kurt Angle Hardcore Holly Kane Edge Billy Gunn List of people who need tag and world Val Venis William Regal D'Lo Brown Eddy Guerrero
Guest alfdogg Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 I think it's a pretty safe bet that Jarrett's not gonna do it.
Guest alfdogg Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 You can also remove Hardcore Holly and Billy Gunn...Hardcore has only won the tag title, and Billy never won the Euro title.
Guest The Superstar Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 Kane No, he won the World title. Only needs Euro, which he can't get. Edge Billy Gunn Never won Euro Hardcore Holly I don't think he won Euro OR IC
Guest Olympic Slam Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Hardcore Holly I don't think he won Euro OR IC Nope, he's only been a tag (with Crash and with 1-2-3 Kid I believe) and hardcore title winner mulitple times. EDIT: Has anyone mentioned the Rock yet? I'm pretty sure he's won everything but the hardcore title
Guest Midnight Express83 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Rocky was never Euro champ.
Guest Midnight Express83 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I can remember Hardcore winning the title in the cluster fuck near and around WMXV.
Guest The Superstar Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I can remember Hardcore winning the title in the cluster fuck near and around WMXV. Which title? The Euro title was in the X-Pac/Shane feud. Billy Ass beat Holly to win the HARDCORE title before WM. Road Dogg beat Val Venis to win the IC Title the same night, if that's what you're talking about.
Guest Midnight Express83 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Oops I am wrong. Russo's booking just boggles the mind to the point where thinking on it hurts the brain.
Guest evenflowDDT Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Rocky was never Euro champ. But... but.... it may be superfluous, but THE ROCK IS THE EUROPEAN CHAMPION~! Seriously though, doesn't the denomination of Grand Slam not mean a damn thing anymore since two of the titles don't exist and had long since lost their prestige anyway?
Guest nikowwf Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Didn't Angle hold the world title? Is our Unified title a different thing that world title?
Guest Midnight Express83 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 List of people who were World champ in WWF and NWA/WCW. Buddy Rogers Ric Flair Deisel Randy Savage Big Show Bret Hart Hulk Hogan Sid Kurt Angle Triple H* Chris Jericho Rocky Had the "World title" same belt as WCW world title just without the name WCW.
Guest notJames Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I can remember Hardcore winning the title in the cluster fuck near and around WMXV. Which title? The Euro title was in the X-Pac/Shane feud. Billy Ass beat Holly to win the HARDCORE title before WM. Road Dogg beat Val Venis to win the IC Title the same night, if that's what you're talking about. Holly beat Al Snow in Memphis for the HC title. Remember the cyclone fencing and the pin by the river?
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Umm...MidnightExpress83 you said Kurt only needed the world to be Grandslam....he needs tag. He's been the world champ twice.
Guest Wart Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Grandslam means to win or hold 4 of something, so wouldnt it be any combo. of titles? Did they ever officially say that it could only be World, IC, Euro, and Tag, or is this just something the internet fans assumed/thought up on their own? And since the IC/Euro/Hardcore and soon to be World are being unified, could there be an arguement that if you win the World and tag, you are a Grandslam champ, cause technically you would be holding the World-IC-Euro-Hardcore title Just something to think about.
Guest chirs3 Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 Grand Slam doesn't mean just four, it usually means "the four big ones". While the Euro is arguably NOT a big one, it's considered one of the four. The others obviously belong.
