Guest AM The Kid Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 Hey guys, I'm just interested in how many posters have been or will be boycotting Raw. I for one am starting next week because of the Triple H shit. How about you?
Guest Rob Edwards Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 Well we get Raw on Fridays over here so I'm starting tomorrow Count me in bud
Guest Brian Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 I boycotted for four weeks, tuned in for the last few episodes (since the Las Vegas show) and I'm ready to tune back out. My Dean~! tapes should be arriving soon.
Guest buffybeast Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 Well, unless you have a Nielsen box, boycotting the show won't make a difference to Vince. Try not buying the ppvs. That he will notice.
Guest The Flying Dutchman Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 Please note my custom signature. RAW can suck my balls.
Guest CanadianChris Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 Heck no. I want to see how far down they can sink. It's perversely entertaining...kinda like Mystery Science Theater 3000.
Guest eirejmcmahon Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 Haven't watched it in nearly two months now.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 Eh, I always watch it. I sat through 93, this is a cakewalk.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 1993 from the Manhattan Centre was probably the best year of the show. Even 1997 was crap outside Austin/Hart Foundation.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 There was some good HBK stuff in 97. 93 was the year of Yokozuna, Undertaker, and Giant Gonzalez.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 I've defended RAW countless times on this board, but now, after HHH violated a corpse, constant waste of talent, and the wrong people being pushed, I'm gonna start watching Smackdown on a permanent basis. Fuck RAW. Here's hoping RVD, Jericho and Booker move thier asses to SD where at least they'll be given time to do what they're paid to do: WRESTLE.
Guest Pop Culture God Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 I won't boycott RAW. Simply put, wrestling is in my blood. I'm an addict to it. No matter hoe bad it gets, I'll watch and try to enjoy what I can. That's why I maintain some semblance of respect for guys like bps and Anglesault. Because they hate the product a lot more than I do, and yet they continue to hope for change. Oh and 1997 was a GREAT year for quality in the WWF.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 1993 had better stuff with Shawn in his Marty Janetty, Mr. Perfect & Razor Ramon feuds. Other than the tag team with Austin, HBK was a shell of his former self in 1997 (his two matches with Undertaker don't count since they were on PPV). 1993 also gave us Perfect/Flair, Kid/Ramon, Ramon winning the IC Title for the first time, Money Inc/Steiners, Quebecers/Steiners, the Hart/Lawler feud, Evil Doink, the beginning of Savage's last run in the WWF, etc. Plus, Luger didn't wrestle for the whole summer, which is always a plus. 1997 gave us a great main event, but the rest of the card sucked. Although it was the second best year. 1995 RAW was horrible, why don't you say that at least?
Guest evenflowDDT Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 I started this week. As someone's who's been (wrongly, but perhaps not unjustly?) accused of being a necrophiliac, when I read about such a video being presented, I just decided I wasn't missing much important. Ironically enough, Nekromantik is going on my Chanukah list. Besides, there's no reason to watch RAW anyway now that THE BIG F'N SHOW is on Smackdown!
Guest Brian Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 1997 had some good undercard stuff with ECW coming in and the attempts at a cruiserweight division which produced some fun matches.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 BTW, back on topic. No I am not boycotting RAW. Boycotting requires some purpose. I just don't watch, because it is a waste of my time.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 I came close to boycotting RAW on Monday, but I decided to watch it after all. I can't see myself boycotting a show that I've watched since I started watching wrestling back in 1998.
Guest Sandman9000 Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 I haven't had the urge to watch any WWE programming. RAW is pathetic, I don't get UPN at my college, so no Smackdown (and NO CZW FAKE YOU, which pisses me off!), and anything great that happens will be available for download within a week, so I have no urge to waste my time with it.
Guest ManKinnd Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 I put this in another thread, and now having not missed a single second of Raw since December 98, I missed all of it last week, and I'm glad. I'll have a tape in for Smackdown though.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 There was some good HBK stuff in 97. 93 was the year of Yokozuna, Undertaker, and Giant Gonzalez. You forgot the good stuff. Like Perfect vs. Flair, Jannetty vs. Michaels, the Randy Savage/Crush angle, plenty of good Bret Hart stuff, the IC title battle royal with the Ramon vs. Martel match the next week. The Kid beats Razor Ramon, PJ Walker beats IRS... Makes me want to go back and watch Monday Night Raw Prime Cuts

Guest CanadianChris Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 1995 RAW was horrible, why don't you say that at least? 1995 RAW had no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 When I first started watching back in 1998, that was when I enjoyed watching the WWE the most. Between that time, and 2001 up to Wrestlemania 17, I enjoyed it all. After Wrestlemania 17, I didn't enjoy that much, except for a few shows here and there.
Guest netslob Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 Heck no. I want to see how far down they can sink. It's perversely entertaining...kinda like Mystery Science Theater 3000. whoa whoa WHOA...are you actually comparing Raw to the bastion of Television Perfection, MST3K? BLASPHAMEY!!!!
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 Eight weeks here. But I take more of Ramsus' stance, in that I just feel apathetic towards RAW and thus have no incentive to watch. Oh well.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 with the possibility of RAVEN~! Coming back to Raw, I just can't bring myself to boycot it
Guest AndrewTS Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 Heck no. I want to see how far down they can sink. It's perversely entertaining...kinda like Mystery Science Theater 3000. whoa whoa WHOA...are you actually comparing Raw to the bastion of Television Perfection, MST3K? BLASPHAMEY!!!! No....MST3K makes a lot of movies with no redeeming qualities entertaining, or builds on the unintentional humor. It isn't like a Plan 9 or other Ed Wood movie--so bad it's already funny. Although there are a few moments--like the trunk popping open--that gets chuckles. The Raw Thread helps make the show entertaining, and probably the only reason I kept watching as long as I did. Damn, I am typing-like-bps.--Oh-wait-a-sec,-now-I'm-ARRRGH!
Guest converge241 Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 This is the fifth week i havent watched any of the shows. They need to have 50 of the great Smackdown matches to even get me thinking about wasting time watching again. I still read the results/opinions etc in my subscriptions and online here and other sites. The stupidity drove me to my breaking point and for the first time since 1985 (before i started watching at all) i am not watching any WWE/F of some kind every week. And no money will go to Vince's pocket no ppvs no Royal Rumble (which ive always wanted to go to) no Mattitude shirt
Guest papacita Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 1995 RAW was horrible, why don't you say that at least? Maybe it's just because I was a mark at the time, but I liked Raw in 95. It doesn't compare to 97-98 or even 93, but they had their nights (i.e. the night after WM XI, the Raw where Bulldog turned on Diesel, the Dean Douglas/Kid/Ramon angle wasn't all that bad, the night after Survivor Series where HBK collapsed [plus Marty Jannetty had one of the funniest run-ins I've ever seen that night during the Kid/Hakushi match]) As for boycotting Raw...I dunno. If I actually cared about the product, I would, but nowadays I really don't. Lately I've actually been forgetting to watch Raw, which is sad considering that I've watched damn near every Raw since it started in 93 (even when WCW was kicking their asses). I'm real close to not watching Raw altogether.
