Guest ISportsFan Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 From 411. Velocity spoilers: Funaki/Chuck Palumbo beat D-Von/Simmons Albert beat jobber Tajiri beat Crash (said to be ok, but boring chants) I guess boring chants reared their ugly head at the "worst time" possible, but we'll see when he posts the Smackdown spoilers over at 411. Guest ISportsFan Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 WARNING: THE SMACKDOWN SEGMENT OF THE SPECIAL TUESDAY UPN SHOW IS IN THIS POST From Josh Nason at 411 Nobody, including myself, knew what was going on at this point and assumed that Smackdown was starting after Mike Cole/Tazz came out and the Smackdown graphics were up. In general, the audio wasn't that great throughout the evening. **Interpromotional Bikini Contest Challenge - Trish Stratus and Torrie Wilson went to a no-contest. Tazz served as commentator and did the usual "Who do you like" deal. Both ladies looked phenomenal, especially Trish who simply is stunning in person. Torrie ain't that bad either. Nidia broke up the proceedings though after running in the ring and attacking Wilson. Trish and Torrie then beat down Nidia and sent her packing, embracing for the fans and giving us great dreams for years. ***Eddie Guerrero won a three-way dance over Edge and Chris Benoit. Talk about a wrestling purist's dream match. This was all you could expect from the three, going about 15 minutes. Assuming this was the Smackdown main event, I couldn't figure out why it was starting at around 8 pm at night. All of the guys' respective tag partners got involved with Rey Mysterio nailing Chavo Guerrero with a backward flip from the ringside barrier. Wow. The end came when Kurt Angle appeared and attacked Eddie, tossing him back in the ring. Angle then commanded Benoit to finish him off, which didn't please the Crippler. While they argued, Eddie rolled up Benoit with a handful of tights to get the win, ending a great matchup that will perfectly show what the Smackdown brand is all about. That was it for the SD special segments. Jason
Guest RedJed Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 Well, sounds like this special next Weds should be pretty solid with the two matches and the interpromotional T & A.
Guest ISportsFan Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 He's taking a while to put this up. He (Nason at 411) must be typing it now. Oh well. Just a little less sleep tonight. Jason
Guest ISportsFan Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 From wrestlingobserver.com Smackdown starts as Tazz and Cole come out again. Billy Kidman and Torrie Wilson def. Jamie Noble and Nidia when Kidman pinned Noble with the shooting star press. Backstage Al Wilson talked to Torrie after the match and said how he had provided for her and everything and tonight he needed to do something for himself Rikishi and John Cena had a rap contest backstage. Before the match Cena also did a backstage promo saying how he grew up in New England but moved out of here as soon as he could to be with his fellow beautiful people. Eddie and Chavo complained about not getting a tag title shot to Stephanie and teased her about the kiss with Bischoff, so she put Eddie in a match with Brock for the title. Rikishi def. John Cena following a stinkface and a Banzai drop. Finish seems pretty dumb to me and defeats the purpose of anybody new getting over. Thanks Hunter! Backstage Matt Hardy told Paul Heyman that he was going to soften up Big Show for Brock just like he did with The Undertaker. In the ring Al Wilson called out Dawn Marie. He proposed to her, saying he'd have to kill himself if she said no. She said yes. Crowd hated this. Big Show defeated Matt Hardy with the chokeslam. Show didn't sell much, and promised to win the title at Survivor Series. Rey Misterio and Edge defeated Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle in a two-out-of-three falls match to win the tag titles. First fall was Edge and Misterio getting the win with a combination powerbomb by Edge and a springboard Molly-go-round(forget the real name) by Misterio. Second fall was Edge tapping to the ankle lock. In the third fall Misterio had Angle pinned with a rana and the ref counted three while Angle grabbed the ropes with his hand. After a break the match restarted, and Misterio and Edge won the fall again after miscommunication by Benoit and Angle. Hell of a match. Backstage Paul Heyman yelled at Brock. Said he couldn't beat Big Show and that he would have to see if he could beat Eddie without him. Brock Lesnar beat Eddie with the F5. Eddie had Brock in a wristlock and Chavo was going to come off the top rope with an axhandle but Brock just launched Eddie into Chavo. Brock then hit the F5 to get the win. Brock was walking up the ramp and holding his belt up facing the ring when Show attacked him from behind. Big Show press slammed him off the stage to the floor. Heyman and the refs and medics came out to check on Brock and put him in a neck collar and prepped him for a stretcher as the show went off the air. Big Show's music played and he walked from the ramp to the ring and cut a short promo, saying how he has destroyed The Undertaker, put Lesnar through the announce table and "more recently" thrown Lesnar off the ramp. He said that "on Sunday" he was going to take the WWE title. I assume this will air on the Tuesday special. Brock was shown stumbling to his feet and taking off the neck brace. He stumbled to the ring and rose up the belt to a good ovation and then left to end the show. The arena was about 75% full, with almost all of the sections at the top of the arena blacked off. Jason
ChrisMWaters Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 ...two times Eddie goes against the REAL top champion, and for the second time in a row for that he gets beaten by the Top Champion. Poor Eduardo.
Guest ISportsFan Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 I'm going to bed, so if anybody wants to post the detailed 411 spoilers, that's fine. I'm not going to stay awake to do it, though. Morning basketball at 6:00 central tomorrow, so need sleep. Jason

Jason booooooring. Thank god we have the all powerful "random tag team combination match" to make the show you know, watchable. Hopefully, Angle + Benoit don't get broken up already though. Plus, I'm anxious to see just how bad "John Cena, Freestyler" is.
Guest Zack Malibu Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the Tag Title match will be the best match on the show.
Guest Will Scarlet Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 Well, I do not like jobbing Cena and Matt Hardy. In Hardy's case, that's how the ball bounces, but how dare they job Cena?! Even with the questionable choice of tights, this man could go places. He has charisma and some talent. I see no point jobbing him to Rikishi. Ah well.
Guest Zero_Cool Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 Why did they have Show squash Hardy? Oh yeah, the tag team match should own all.
Guest Banky Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 Eddie gets squashed? Two Words: FUCK THAT! Fuck that. Oh, how little the WWE understands.
Guest Kingpk Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 Rikishi def. John Cena following a stinkface and a Banzai drop. Finish seems pretty dumb to me and defeats the purpose of anybody new getting over. Thanks Hunter! Ok...... Big Show defeated Matt Hardy with the chokeslam. Show didn't sell much, and promised to win the title at Survivor Series. WHY?! In the ring Al Wilson called out Dawn Marie. He proposed to her, saying he'd have to kill himself if she said no. She said yes. Crowd hated this. WHY?! Brock Lesnar beat Eddie with the F5. Eddie had Brock in a wristlock and Chavo was going to come off the top rope with an axhandle but Brock just launched Eddie into Chavo. Brock then hit the F5 to get the win. WHY?!
Guest Paranoid Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 Another medium grade show. This is getting old.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 So Eddie, Edge, and Benoit worked twice in one night, the latter two going through TWO marathons? Well, marathons considering the other matches are probably all 3:00 or so each... Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest edotherocket Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 Newly revised contenders list for Smackdown: Champ: Brock Contenders: 1. The Big Show 2. Rikishi 3. Scott Steiner 4. Lennox Lewis 5. Jess Ventura 6. Triple H (title unification match) 7. Kurt Angle Who is Rikishi sleeping with to keep winning so many damn matches over potential new stars?
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 How is it that everyone on the net hates John Cena's guts when he's fighting Jericho but now that he's losing to a fat slob like Rikishi he's a "rising star" and people are sticking up for him?
Guest alfdogg Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 If two people in a thread on a message board is "everybody on the internet", then I guess you got a valid point there.
Guest kane3212321 Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 I've just finished watching last years OVW July-November TV and believe me Cena is very underated. Him and Rico were pretty good as a tag team and their promos together were gold. Especially when Cena dyed his hair gold to match the belts and Rico explained the belts were silver.
Guest Will Scarlet Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 How is it that everyone on the net hates John Cena's guts when he's fighting Jericho but now that he's losing to a fat slob like Rikishi he's a "rising star" and people are sticking up for him? Well, he lacked any sort of charisma as a face besides wearing fruity tights and yelling "Look at me I have ruthless aggression!" He seems ten times cooler as a heel. I always felt he was at least a decent wrestler, he just lacked personality. He seems to have that now.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 Big Show defeated Matt Hardy with the chokeslam. Show didn't sell much What the Hell is the point of this? For one, he's getting really over and is doing great with this Character. No reason to job him out and kill his heat. Two, why job him out when Matt is playing a "Heel" to Big Show? Why not job out a "Face" to Big Show? Al Wilson is getting out of control with his politics. I blame all this on Him.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 How is it that everyone on the net hates John Cena's guts when he's fighting Jericho but now that he's losing to a fat slob like Rikishi he's a "rising star" and people are sticking up for him? Simple equation: Jericho > Cena > Rikishi
Guest mach7 Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 From wrestlingobserver.com Rikishi def. John Cena following a stinkface and a Banzai drop. Finish seems pretty dumb to me and defeats the purpose of anybody new getting over. Thanks Hunter! Thanks Hunter?? Oh man, you know your HHH conspiracy theories are out of hand when... give me a break wrestlingobserver.com. Idiots.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 "wrestlingobserver.com. Idiots." Umm.......this was sent in by a random fan. It has nothing to do with the people that run wrestling observer.
Guest Goodear Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 More SD! goodness from where I'm sitting... - The three way dance makes the tag team 3 way pretty much confirmed. OH BABY! - Tag match love and 2 out of 3 falls to boot! Whooo! And Edge didn't pin anyone with a spear, so no one will complain about that... they'll find something else to complain about - Shooting Star Press! Whooo! - Eddie v. Brock... neat. - The Matt and Brock connection lives! This a good thing whether or not Matt jobs. I hope to god Matt signs Paul E. as a manager. That would be gold.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 I don't get it. Have Eddie win in a 3 way, but get squashed by Lesnar. Doesn't this just bury benoit and edge at the same time? Seems like Either Angle or Benoit is getting a shot at Lesnar - the bet right now is Benoit. Damn. That'll probably be at RR as Angle vs. Benoit will most likely spill over to Armageddon. WHOOO HOOOO 2/3 Falls!
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 Brock Lesnar beat Eddie with the F5. It doesn't say whether it was a squash or not. Maybe we should wait to see the match 1st...
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 The "detailed" spoilers said it was pretty much a squash, then Eddie gets pinned by the good old "Heel miscommunication" And Cena may suck, but he's certainly more useful than Rikishi, put it that way. Besides, now that he's John Cena, Freestyler, he might get over.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 The "detailed" spoilers said it was pretty much a squash, then Eddie gets pinned by the good old "Heel miscommunication" Ok then. I stand corrected.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted November 6, 2002 Report Posted November 6, 2002 Why is everyone so upset about the Lesnar/Eddy match? It'll be a good match since Brock's an average worker and Eddy is very good. It's not like once Eddy loses everyone will stop caring about him. It's one match guys chill the fuck out.
