Guest Paranoid Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 Thanks to Ben Johnson for the following. As an update on HHH's injury, it apparently happened when RVD gave HHH the frog splash off one of the chambers. As RVD came down, it was obvious (from a viewer's standpoint) that he did not land correctly. Word has it that his shin landed right across HHH's throat. This conclusion seems to have been confirmed due to HHH having difficulty breathing and talking backstage after the match. The seriousness of the injury is not known, but some are concerned he may have a crushed larynx. Be sure to return to this website for updates when we get them. Brock Lesnar was removed from all house shows next weekend due to his rib injury. He is still planned, however, to be present at the Smackdown tapings this Tuesday. Brock is expected to have an extremely light schedule instead of just being removed from TV for a month, but that could change.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 Looks like we won't be getting anymore of Hunter's methodical interviews for a while........ a plus. I hope it heals correctly and he's back in "top form" soon.
Guest TheArchiteck Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 A crushed larynx?? Thats fucking brutal. No wonder he was laying down a lot. HHH is a machine. **gives thumbs up**
Guest art_vandelay Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 Things aren't looking good for Rob.
Guest papacita Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 *looks at art_vandelay's sig...cries*
Guest Trivia247 Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 heh HHH gets a Ricky the Dragon Steamboat type Injury. He can't even get on the injury list without making it a Big deal I Suppose we will get another Desire Video for this... ITSSS A BEAUTIFULLL DAY!!
Guest the pinjockey Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 how can they show a rehab from this. Will it just be him spitting water over and over while having nurses hold him up?
Guest Paranoid Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 Steamboat's injury was made out to be a big deal too. How soon they forget when it come to bashing HHH.
Guest the pinjockey Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 If he does have a crushed larynx will he still be able to eat and breathe this business more than anyone else like he says he does?
Guest Paranoid Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 Of course he will. They will give him the business through an IV if he can't! lol
Guest Vern Gagne Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 Maybe the WWE will just have one of the those voiceboxes do the tired boring interviews until HHH's voice retutrns. That's a brutal injury even for HHH. Hopefully it's not permanent damage.
Guest geniusMoment Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 Yes!!!!!!!!! How long will this keep trips out of action. I only wish Rob would have driven his shin straight through HHH's god damn throat. Kill that fucker
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 I'll ask what everyone else is thinking, how does this affect the spitting process? Maybe there really will be rehab involved. IT'S A BEAUTIFUL DAAAAAAAAA-YAAAAAAAAA
Guest the pinjockey Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 Just imagine a rehab video where he tries to spit water and he just ends up dribbling a little bit down his chin. And they show him wearing a bib to avoid messing himself.
Guest buffybeast Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 Damn, a crushed larynx sounds like a brutal injury. I wonder if HHH will give RVD any retaliation.
Guest Nater Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 The retaliation came in advance.
Guest snowfan Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 when a guy gets buried repeatedly for being over you can safely say HGH was engaged in pre-emptive retaliation...
Guest Goodear Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 You people are making me puke here. The guy got his god damn throat crushed and all you can do is spit out the same tired ass jokes and bullshit you always do. Only one person can even give Triple H any credit for gutting out the rest of the match, and that's a shame. Because whether you like him or not, Triple H showed some guts last night and whether he's banging Steph or not, that should count for something.

He was just staying in because he understands that leaving the match would have meant that his decline was set in motion. It would not shock me in the least if he is exaggerating his injury to "keep my heat-uh". Like I said elsewhere the entire match was stupid because NONE of those guys are as entertaining getting maimed as Foley. Memo to VKM: that "chamber" was guaranteed to hurt at least one person maybe permanently too bad it wasn't Nasabeak Prime.
Guest Goodear Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 ** what the hell do I care about Crips "toughing it out"(by laying down around action more than a porn queen)for anyway? ** He had a 220 pound man land on his throat and had to be taking to the hospital right after the match! If he had been able to just keep going like nothing had happened, he wouldn't have been hurt. Give the guy just a little bit of credit for completing the match. Just a little. ** He was just staying in because he understands that leaving the match would have meant that his decline was set in motion. It would not shock me in the least if he is exaggerating his injury to "keep my heat-uh". ** Stop with the retarded as shit -UH crap. It's so old its got grey hairs. Come up with something, anything original. And explain how you fake a crushed throat... explain it to me. I want you to tell me precisely how Triple H FAKED having RVD land on his throat from the top of the chamber. But you cannot, because you have nothing to go to except old jokes that someone made up for you about 3 years ago. All you have is your stupid blind hatred of a wrestler you think is pushed too hard. You cannot even give the guy the smallest bit of credit for anything.
Guest snowfan Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 Pardon me master fuc*ing Yoda but a throat injury can be "faked" as far as severity or all together. (see Steamboat, Ricky) Hunter would literally have had to have been killed to lose to anyone other than Shawn because he KNOWS that if he dropped the belt to any of the 4 "jobbers" in that match and the ratings went up he'd lose stroke. So stop trying to act like he is some sort of modern day Samson for not leaving the damn match if he was 'that damn-uh wounded". YMMV, Snowfan
Guest snowfan Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 The best part is your moralizing sermonical attitude. I HATE Hunter, passionately. He is gonna kill the WWE because eveidently he has pics of VKM and Patterson or something and Team Titan will not quit with his "Push-uh". They never even rammed Hogan with this much zeal. There are serious problems and victims in the world. HGH ain't one of 'em. The worst case scenario if he loses his career is he gets fellated by Big Steph and retires to an island or gets a job in the back. I have NO sympathy for him.
Guest Goodear Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 You 'fake' an injury in the ring with what you do in the ring, you don't have trouble breathing after the matches are over and you're backstage with no cameras around. Why are you disputing an actual injury with nothing but Triple H hate? By that rational I guess RVD was faking the knee injury too since, he didn't want to cleanly job to anyone and was in a hurry to go backstage and get stoned. You're next point really has nothing to do with Triple H getting his throat injured and continuing the match. That's just crap booking by a company who cannot figure out that Big Show is going to sink SmackDown. Don't think I want Triple H or Shawn Michaels as World Champions, because I don't. But I can seperate that from a guy getting fucked up in a match and continuing to perform. I can give the guy a little bit of credit for that. You have to be Captain Ihopehediesinthering for some reason. I also didn't say, "Triple H is SOOOO tough he should get a purple heart from the Marine Corp" I said, "Triple H gutted it out, good for him" while others have to go on with mindless, repetitive, "Triple-Uh H-uh should-Uh die-Uh" and then the same backstage "skit" with Triple H talking to Steph about burying people over and over and over and over and over again.
Guest Caliban Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 RVD landed on HHH's throat with his knee. For the rest of the match, Hebner was checking on him. He even made the crossed X with his arms, the signal that a guy is hurt legit. Kudos to the rest of the guys for working around it, and kudos to HHH to finishing the match. Watching it again, the whole thing was really rather good. HHH showed be something that I hadn't seen from him in over a year and reminded me why we all loved him in 2000-01. He's a fucking pro in the ring. Any backstage rumours have no relevance whatsoever to this topic.
Guest snowfan Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 You are not recieving my meaning Goodear. I am saying that Hunter is being a drama queen. If he was injured he should have asked for the magic X. He may well be hurt(I hope he doesn't die)but if he were as hurt as he now says he is he isn't "great-uh" for staying in he is dumb. Now we have a shitty champ(show) and a shitty IC Champ(HBK) as I refuse to call the Aardvark Appreciation belt a "world title"...

So in short I guess what the guys who are you know really over need to do is jam a needle in their ass and flop around on the mat for 30-40% of a match.... He is iron Man
Guest buffybeast Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 Supposedly Trips had to spend the night in the hospital. A crushed larynx seems very serious to me. I wondered why he lounged around the ring most of the night. He was staggering quite a bit when he was mobile. I figured it was his knee. I am no fan of the man but respect what he did last night. For him to leave would have meant drastically altering the match and its finish.
Guest EricMM Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 All I can say for HHH's injury is Karma Karma Karma. His throat may be hurt, but how much damage has he done to RVD's CAREER? Jericho's? Come on. HHH's throat will be FINE. He will (unfortuantely) return. And if you say I'm mean for saying that, I think the WWE is better off without him than with him. There are more perks to having him GONE than to having him around.
Guest buffybeast Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 HHH's throat will be FINE. He will (unfortuantely) return. And you know this how?
Guest Caliban Posted November 18, 2002 Report Posted November 18, 2002 He's a fucking pro in the ring, and a cancer out of it. Like I said, how do backstage rumours have any relevance to what happened in the match?
