Guest teke184 Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 "Kevin Dunn claims the segment with Torrie Wilson, Dawn Marie and Al Wilson will be the second highest rated segment of the show according to an article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, behind only the main event. That would mean it would beat out the Scott Steiner contract signing segment, which came later in the show. Generally speaking, Smackdown numbers show a consistent increase throughout the show, unlike with Raw (although last week that wasn't the case with Smackdown). Reports were this was nowhere near the quality of the Smackdown shows of the past few months with only one good match. I'll leave it to you to guess which one that was. " - Wrestling Observer I know we always talk about how incompetent certain people are, but this is going to be a case of him proving it publically.
Guest Samurai_Goat Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 Man, all I know is, quite frankly, sex sells. And when I think of sex, I think of Al Wilson's flabby man cheeks.
Guest Anglesault Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 What segment? Ah fuck it. My will is broken. Do your worst, WWF.
Guest HartFan86 Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 What an IDIOT. He thinks AL FUCKING WILSON will GET RATINGS. What the FUCK.
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 I'm not even sure which show Kevin DUHn is talking about. Are you?
Guest Anglesault Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 I wonder what ratings he thinks SPOILER ********************************** Kurt Angle the Pussy Boy ************************************* will get
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 This is the best thread ever. We get Sault's super secret yellow words, plus ~SCIENDIFIC~
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 I swear to God AS could watch a Holocaust documentary and come up with a reason it makes Kurt Angle look bad.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 I wonder what ratings he thinks SPOILER ********************************** Kurt Angle the Pussy Boy ************************************* will get How is this a spoiler. It DOESN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS
Guest Anglesault Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 Hey, Jews may not be pushed heavily on WWF TV, but is NOT Holocaust level. How is this a spoiler. It DOESN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS Fine. Kurt Angle is made to look like a useless pussy on Smackdown who needs someone else to fight his battles for him. No spoiler there.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 Fine. Kurt Angle is made to look like a useless pussy on Smackdown who needs someone else to fight his battles for him. No spoiler there. In your opinion.
Guest Anglesault Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 Fine. When he loses at the PPV, the guy that Angle asked for help better ask Angle for help when he faces Big Show. After all, that's just using your brain.
Guest Super Pissed Smark Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 All I know for sure is, whatever you do, don't eat the yellow snow.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 Fine. When he loses at the PPV, the guy that Angle asked for help better ask Angle for help when he faces Big Show. After all, that's just using your brain. The reason Angle asked Brock was more than for "help. Angle's motivation was three-fold: 1. Insure Victory (In his Mind) 2. Get an up-close look at Lesnar. (They've never been in a segment together before.) 3. To take a bit of a jab at him. ("You couldn't beat him alone, either.")
Guest CanadianChick Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 3. To take a bit of a jab at him. ("You couldn't beat him alone, either.") I saw that more as Angle letting his mouth run and just being a smartass.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 Umm.....they have been in a segment together before. When Angle and Hogan were fighting for the rights to face Lensar for the #1 contendership or something like that. It was on SD! in about July. When Brock destroyed Hogan the next week.
Guest razazteca Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 Nice to see somebody else is watching SNL reruns on Comedy Central. This just in the worst job in the entertainment business is Assistant Pro Wrestling Writer surpassing Assistant Crack Whore. Note to self......sex sells but it does not work for senior citizens.
Guest Downhome Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 I wouldn't be suprised if it DID get a higher rating than many other segments. I mean, if Maye Young and the such could actually post big numbers for their time, then I wont be shocked if this does also.
Guest nikowwf Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 Angle didn't look weak at all on Smackdown this week. His babyface tag in and angleslam of both big guys was great. It took interference to beat him. And Angle looking for an advantage is hardly new...thats his character. i dont think you can ever be satisfied niko

I thought the tag match was decent enough and Angle looked amazing when he Olympic Slammed the Fat-Train and the Big Slow.
Guest DrTom Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 Angle looked amazing when he Olympic Slammed the Fat-Train and the Big Slow. That he did, but I think it cheapens Brock giving Slow the F5. They made Brock out to be freakishly strong because he was able to get Slow up in the air. What about Angle, who's 60 pounds lighter and obviously not as strong? If he can Olympic Slam that fat tub, does he really need Brock in his corner at Armageddon? Yeah, it looked impressive, but I think it raises other questions and issues, and I could have lived without seeing it.
Guest Goodear Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 Eh, the F5 is still more impressive due to the ammount of height Brock gets and how long he holds Show up. Angle's slam is more of a leverage thing where he takes Show strait back instead of up, hold, and down.
Guest notJames Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 Yeah, they should have saved the Industrial-Strength AngleSlam™ for the PPV. Why waste it on a nothing show in a nothing tag match? If it was to instill a sense of excitement about the PPV, nothing short of another HHHeMan quad tear could accomplish that.

What about Angle, who's 60 pounds lighter and obviously not as strong? Angle's put on a lot of muscle and he DID do that whole "Olympics" thing, so I don't know if it really cheapens it all that much. Plus it's a lot harder to do what Brock did anyway, anyone can see that.
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 back to the thing about being satisfied...I think some of the fun with WWE nowadays is seeing if they will get it right with your favourite wrestlers. The day you become satisfied with wrestling, it may turn out that you could get even more bored with it. Just a thought.
Guest SP-1 Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 . . . other people besides me are seeing that this may lead to Angle/Brock down the road, right? I mean, I'm not the only one that's not lost faith on WWE long term planning . . . RIGHT?
Guest Anglesault Posted December 14, 2002 Report Posted December 14, 2002 . . . other people besides me are seeing that this may lead to Angle/Brock down the road, right? Yeah, we all see that. But isn't there like thre million other ways to do it? maybe Steph orders brock to be in Angle's corner, despite objections from both.
Guest AndrewTS Posted December 14, 2002 Report Posted December 14, 2002 If ratings go down, but segments like that draw like most of Smackdown previously was, is it still considered a success?
Guest blachuuh_monkey Posted December 14, 2002 Report Posted December 14, 2002 I hope to god they wouldn't consider that a success. If the did they would be retarded.
Guest Brian Posted December 14, 2002 Report Posted December 14, 2002 Or Brock is just there at ringside as a ticket holder and stops Paul's interference which leads to Kurt getting screwed. But then you have to get around the whole suspension angle.
