The article looks at a number of the recent hardships of the WWE, from diminishing ratings and revenues, the World losing millions of dollars, recent corporate firings, stock prices dropping, and the World Wildlife Fund lawsuit. "We are in the rebuilding process," states McMahon in the article, pointing to their success Internationally as a positive for the company. Other plans for the future according to the article are a WWE-themed wireless phone, and the development of feature films and an animated series based on and/or starring WWE performers. One of the most interesting quotes in the piece is McMahon's comment that the XFL Football League was not a failure, despite only lasting one season and losing millions of dollars. "It was quite an accomplishment for the company to announce and then have [teams] on the field in a year," McMahon said in the article, but then blamed the league's failure on the lack of sufficient practice time before the season's start and fans' confusion about the non-traditional rules used in XFL games. Of course, all of the reasonings listed for the failings were obviously within the WWE's sphere of influence.

It was amazing we got it up and running...but the problem was it wasn't ready when we launched? WHERE'S THE FUCKING SUCCESS THERE???? Why don't you give us ANYTHING that we want. And to say the XFL was a success because of how quick it came together is one of the most ridiculous things I ever heard. Say someone builds a car in two weeks, a short time span to build a car, but then when they go to start it up the wheels fall off, the radio short circuits, and the engine blows up was the car a success?

If I recall, this is EXACTLY what WCW did in the final months...overseas tours. Remember when Nitro was overseas for like 3 weeks? That's cause they got more people at one Nitro there then at 4 Nitros in America.

Good to see it did some people some good, while Vince is eating the entire pie of failure. However, in the end the WWE failing will fall on the workers, since they are the ones who get blamed and fired, while management floats to the ground with their golden parachutes. It happens everywhere in every sort of business, i.e. Enron or even your casual layoffs. And when WWE releases talented guys, there still are the stupid-as-posts writers still gainfully employed.

If I recall, this is EXACTLY what WCW did in the final months...overseas tours. Remember when Nitro was overseas for like 3 weeks? That's cause they got more people at one Nitro there then at 4 Nitros in America. When they go to Austrailia I guess that's when Nathan Jones will debut, as hometown boy. I'd prefer to see him as an Outback Jack ripoff than another MONSTER HOSS though.
