That had to be the cheesiest, funniest and down right stupid funerals I have ever seen, including TV and movies. What was with the magical dramatic music that would come and go. The BEST PART was when Dawn hit Torrie with the lamp on the shoulder, and then Torrie just stays there in shock before she looks to the camera and realizes she is supposed to be "knocked out" by then.....hahahahaha.....Why did they not have the correct edit by the time the show aired......wow

That just might have been my least favorite promo/skit in the history of my watching this sport. That's all I'm going to say, as I really see no need in going off on a rant about it. We all know it sucked, I'm sure.

(If any of you question my hating this more than the Katie Vick thing, Mark Henry skits, etc... it is simple. While these disgusted me so much more, and was simply trash that made me embarresed to be a fan. At least that stuff was meant simply "in fun", and not to be taken seriously. This shit tonight however is bull shit, yet they expect us to take it as serious, they expect us to actually just watch it as a TV show and BELIEVE that one of the characters died in the show. That is just uncalled for in Pro. Wrestling, there is no need to try to make us TOTALLY think we are watching just another sitcom/soap. Not only that, but it's 3rd rate HORSE SHIT sitcom/soap trash, involving people who just are NOT actors.)

I didn't watch tonights show for these skits. I had just buried a loved one 36 hours before and couldn't see myself getting any happier watching a mock funeral.

Judging by recaps, I'm guessing I didn't miss much?

You missed plenty of bullshit, does that count?

Not to mention, a fake/mock funeral right after Owen's death is featued on Raw X.......

Worst...skit...EVER. Not to mention worst angle ever.

At least the Mae Young hand fiasco and the Terri miscarriage debacle was relatively QUICK. The skits tonight just dragged on...and on...and on some more. I thought the pain would never end. They could have had two quality matches in the time that they wasted on that shit.

Personally, I am no longer attracted to Dawn Marie at all. The only thing that I want to give to her is a Stan Hansen lariat every time that she opens up her mouth. She is a terrible actress, and her "seductive" voice is like nails on a chalkboard. God, she is annoying.

Dawn needs to be the ditzy airhead she was in ECW. At least that was a part she could play well.

That angle was just straight up cheese period . The only thing that I got out of it was getting to see Dawn in that dress . And what the hell was that lamp made out of ?

Agreed on all point. This angle doesn't even have entertaining camp value going for it.

I taped SD! and FFed through all the Al/Dawn/Torrie stuff. IMO the show was pretty good tonight, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

So... is (was?) Al really Torrie's father? I got $5 on this.

I'd never thought I'd see the day when Torrie and Dawn shows up on my screen and I'd turn the channel. Somebody end this angle

The WWE writers are stupid to think that their demographic like to watch soap opera style skits. Well the WWE writers are just plain stupid, that is nothing new. The acting was god awful, and what was the deal with all the people "moarning." They sounded like either zebras maiting or geese dying. It was horrible. At least with Raw is Necrophilia the beginning of the skit was funny. WWE has a thing with cutting back on things that are good and making things that suck drag on forever. They really need writers that know wrestling, and not soap operas. If not wrestling, then the people that write the Naked Gun/Airplane movies.

did they at least edit out the "Turn It Off" chants that the crowd supposedly chanting during the taping... i am guessing the obvious and that is they did...... but with the WWE I never know

I think people were way too hard on this angle. Yeah, building up a long feud between who are essentially two non-wrestlers is not the best use of time, but I think Torrie and Dawn did good with what they had. Over the course of the feud, I didn't think their acting was bad at all (except in some spots).

I read the spoilers for yesterday's show, and I expected the wake scenes to turn out pretty badly, especially since the honeymoon stuff was silly. But the wake was played off almost as well as something that absurd could be played off on a wrestling show. Explaining that Al enjoying all the attention he was getting was what made him want his wake broadcasted was a nice touch, even though that kind of makes it seem like he knew he'd be dead pretty soon. Torrie's acting was believable to me, in fact, I was surprised by how well she did. Dawn's wasn't bad, either. The slaps were vicious-cool, too, even though the sounds were probably amped in post-production.

Dawn telling Torrie she didn't love her father makes sense, too, in the way that Torrie agreed to do something she didn't want to do (the HLA) in order to stop Dawn from marrying Al (even though she knew that marrying her was what her father wanted). Torrie says Dawn was a maneater or whatever, yet I don't remember Dawn portrayed as having any kind of ulterior motives or insincerity during her skits with him.

I was thinking the writers didn't pick up on that and how they could factor that into the storyline, but they did pick up on it, and surprised me in the process. I do think it should've been brought up earlier, though ... like around the time of the HLA.

The lamp shot was bad, though, and hurt the segment for me. I think Torrie actually did the stalled reaction on purpose, but it still looked stupid.

Still, all the TV time this whole feud got not only took away from other guys who need it, but it also overexposed it. The basic idea of it was far from brilliant and seemed like typical soap-opera stuff, but on the whole, this entire thing seemed to be more inspired than the majority of recent angles.

I'm thinking the payoff could be decent, too. I don't think Torrie and Dawn have wrestled even one match (aside from any odd bra-and-panties ones at house shows) since their last PPV together. That got me to thinking that maybe they've been working on this one for the Rumble for a long time, so it can justify the time spent on the feud. This could also help legitimize them, but that'd probably be all for naught anyway, since there's no Smackdown women's title.

So, basically, I didn't love it, but I'd say I liked it for what it was. I'm sure not everyone would disagree with me.

Vincent K. McMahon Jr. Said you will like this angle, so DO IT!

Got it? GOOD!

What was the purpose of Al getting his pulse back in the hotel room and then all of a sudden he's dead. Why not at least blacked it out when the "On 3....3.2.1" guys came in. Would have left that air of doubt.

It still left an air of doubt, since it's not like he started moving. Plus, they told you he was in a coma on Velocity. Maybe the opening on Smackdown was supposed to surprise you if you didn't see the commericals.

And as for why he didn't die there in the hotel and was brought back amongst the living (even though you didn't ask), that's so they wouldn't have to tell you he was dead on Velocity and save that revelation for the Smackdown commericals/Smackdown.

I don't know, but this was finally the one of the better buildups for their match. I mean, at least now their match has a point at RR.

It was hilarious! Everything from the bad acting, to the fake crying, to the smashing of a lamp at a funeral... it's all very SICK. I just lost it when Dawn knocked over the casket. It's like watching a bad video project you made for school with your friends, except this is made by professionals.

Of course I'd rather see longer matches in place of this shit, but I have to say that I enjoyed the funeral a lot more than the Benoit, Stephanie, and Heyman promos in the same show.

At school I had fun trying to convince all of my mark friends that Al Wilson really did die, and the WWE just thought it would be convenient to use the dead body for their angle. You should all try it.

The lamp was never plugged in either, and the extras didn't know when to stop shreaking "ooohhhh"

And no one tried to stop them from fighting, or help them get up.

Wait a minute, why am I complaining about the quality anyway? The entire angle sucked.

I agree with Art Vandelay. It's bad, but it is somehow entertaining in that way. Sure, I wish they would not killed Al Wilson, but, it's badness is why I enjoy it.

They won't be able to edit out any "Turn it off!" chants at the Royal Rumble, 'cause it's live.

Al Wilson/Torrie/Dawn all fall into the same thing as Rikishi...I just change the channel when they come on.

From what I've read I don't appear to be missing anything

I found what Dawn Marie wore to the funeral to be quite hilarious. Seriously, I saw more peach than black if you know what I mean...

Also, Torrie's (sarcasm)AWESOME(/sarcasm) delayed selling was funny...
