Guest Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 I know a lot of people are going to choose the 3D, but I'm going to have to go old school here. Actually, it's a tie for me. Demolition's Decapitation Elbow - That move always looked so vicious. I'm talking about Ax & Smash, here, not Crush. Hart Foundation's Hart Attack Clothesline - Quick and devestating. A simple neckbraker clothesline is a mere transition move these days, but back then, it was a sure fire finisher!
Guest Human Fly Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 I was always kind of a mark for Power and Glory's Superplex/Top Rope Splash combo. I wish someone would do it again. It was a cool move.
Guest Patorick Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 The Crippler Crossface/Anklelock combo Benoit & Angle used on Rock a few weeks before WMX7 was just so cool. Double team submissions shouls be allowed!
Guest notJames Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 I was always kind of a mark for Power and Glory's Superplex/Top Rope Splash combo. I wish someone would do it again. It was a cool move. That's one of my top three faves too. When D'lo and Chaz were a team, they used that finisher. Too bad they teamed them up with Tiger Ali (heat) Singh(k). They could have gotten over with the right storyline. My other two faves are the Doomsday Device and Total Elimination. Honourable mention goes to the British Bulldogs. They had this one move where DBS military pressed their opponent in their corner, then Dynamite Kid climbed to the top rope, jumped onto the pressed oppoenent, and gave a diving headbutt to the other opponent who was prone on the mat. I think they only did it once, so I don't think it counts.
Guest Frankie Williams Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 Whats a tag team??? Ha Ha Ha!!! Seriously, I always marked out for the Hart Attack, especially when they gave it to Davey Boy Smith, when they first won the tag title. God, did I hate the Bulldogs. I also liked the Power and GLory finisher. I may be in the minority, but i thought they had a ton of potential. I guess Vince thought otherwise.
Guest Zack Malibu Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 3D. While I'm not the biggest Dudleyz fan, the move looks sick and always gets a pop. Jericho/Benoit's "Walls/Crossface Combo" that they used while feuding with Austin last year. I second The Bulldogs "Dynamite dives off the opponent". I'm sure they did it at least a few times, and something that innovative and visually cool deserves to be here.
Guest Special K Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 I always liked 3count's countdown. (samoan drop plus spinning nexkbreaker. One that looked viscious, like it would really mess someone up, was the Headcheese backbreaker/leg-drop. Not saying it was my fave, but it did look lethal. There's a lot of neat ones out there though.
Guest bravesfan Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 Doomsday Device (LOD) and Stage Dive?!? (Headbangers- Powerbomb/Top Rope Legdrop Combo)
Guest netslob Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 my list: -3D -Eliminator's "Total Elimination" -Simon & Swinger's "Problem Solver" (Flapjack into DDT) -Doring & Roadkill's "Buggy Bang" (top rope Fame-Asser/ Face-first wheelbarrow suplex combo) -NWA Wildside tag champs Blackout's "Violator 2.0" (double spinebuster powerbomb) -Kronik's "High Times" (double chokeslam) -Raven & Kanyon's Neckbreaker/powerbomb combo -Chaz & D'lo's double powerbomb
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 Total Elimination was the best when they actually hit it. I think on the old ECW TV show's intro video, there's a clip of them hitting it on Mikey Whipwreck, and it looks just devastating.
Guest Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 The Doomsday Device has to be my favorite... just because it looked so freakin' dangerous to perform. When I was a little kid, my friends and I used to wrestle around in a nearby football field during track season. They would have these pole vault mats out and we would throw each other around on them. One day, they decided to use the DD on me. I remember landing directly on my shoulders and neck, and my neck hurting for weeks.
Guest Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 Natural Disaster's Double Avalanche. -Earthquake sends opponents into corner -quake launches Typhoon at opponents -Quake jumps at Typhoon and opponents.
Guest Dace59 Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 Super Kick assisted Tiger or Dragon Suplex Orange Crush/Falcon Arrow (Lift for Falcon Arrow, partner grabs opp. while in air, brings down for Orange Crush as the first partner nails the Falcon Arrow) Tidal Wave Kneeling VerteBreaker/Tombstone
Guest Singular Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 Spike Piledriver/Tombstone If the Tidal Wave was the top rope splash and legdrop from the same turnbuckle, that was phat. Total Elimination of course Decapitation Elbow drop (Demolition was so smooth) Stacked Hurricanrana. Opponent on shoulders while partner gives opponent on shoulders a hurricanrana. See Los Gringos Locos vs. Octagon and El Hijro del Santo.
Guest Dace59 Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 If the Tidal Wave was the top rope splash and legdrop from the same turnbuckle, that was phat Yep, it was, Nova and Chetti in ECW.
Guest razazteca Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 Stacked Hurricanrana Konnan & Rey Misterio Jr used a double team Hurricanrana, but in their variation the opponet is sitting on the top rope while Misterio runs from the opposite corner with an assist from Konnan jumps and hits the Rana. Steiner Brothers Bulldog aka Buff killer any move where the opponet is lifted on shoulders then hit with: a) Lariat b) Dropkick c)Splash Boston Crab then top rope legdrop Camel Crutch & Boston Crab double submission
Guest notJames Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 The Bushwackers' Battering Ram... (just kidding) BTW, Rey Rey and Kidman used that stacked rana in that one PPV tag team triple threat title match against the Vanilla Midgets and Raven and Saturn. The y hit it once on Malenko (I think) and then a second try onto Saturn was reversed into a top rope powerbomb. (Raven eventually won it with a top rope Evenflow). And that Steiner stacked bulldog was cool, too, until they started getting really lax and made it look fake. Didn't the Faces of Fear do a move where the opponent was whipped into the ropes, and then backdropped into a powerbomb?
Guest JHawk Posted April 24, 2002 Report Posted April 24, 2002 One that hasn't been mentioned was the Spike Piledriver that Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard used. One that I like but the timing had to be prefect was the Rockers' Rockerplex. They only used it once or twice in the WWF, but it had Michaels holding up an opponent for a suplex and Jannetty coming off the top with a flying bodypress. Sweet as hell when timed right.
Guest The Electrifyer Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 I did like D'Lo and Chaz's very original tag finisher. This was when Chaz was on the top rope with the opponent and D'Lo was on the turnbuckle right beside Chaz's. Chaz would then deliver a Top-Rope Hurricarana and D'Lo would finish him off with the Frog Splash. IF it was timed right, the move would be killer. I don't know why they changed it into a top-rope superplex/frog splash.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 Gotta go with the 3D. A few more that I liked: Doomsday Device Chaz and D'Lo's first finisher the Spike Piledriver Hart Attack Snow and Blackman's finisher Also, on the double Rana, Malenko and Juvi did it to Jericho once(I forgot the PPV).
Guest Ace309 Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 Spike Piledriver, baby!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, British Bulldogs' cooperative headbutt: Opponent prone, Dynamite bounces off the ropes, Davey Boy press-slams Dynamite and drops him down so he can deliver the flying headbutt. GOLD.
Guest myburninghammer Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 I dunno, I find the concept of two pedestrian moves being combined into one finisher a rather lame equation, though I say that knowing I'm a hyporcrite for thinking that the Spanish Fly (double moonsault urange suplex) is just some insane shit.
Guest Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 I can't beleive this was only mentioned by one one person (notJames) but the Faces of Fear backdrop into the powerbomb was one of the best tandem moves i've ever seen, and considering they only did it to no name jobbers it always seemed more devasting.
Guest Ace309 Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 Oh, and when Jacques Rougeau would back body drop Pierre over the top rope and onto their opponent. That was great.
Guest ArkhamGlobe Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 Arn and Tully's Spike Piledriver is my favorite. Honorable mention to Power & Glory's Powerplex and to the Demolition Decapitation.
Guest papacita Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 Total Elimination!!!!!!!! Right behind that is 3D, the Problem Solver from Simon and Swinger, and the REAL Rolling Thunder from RVD and Sabu! That may have been the one move I liked more than Total Elimination. Also, one time I was watching some indy show...NWA or Deep South I think, and there was some team on there called Southern Pride or something like that. It was a black guy and a white guy dressed up in the Confederate flag (and I'm not even gonna get into the stupidity of a black man wearing Confederate colors ***rolls eyes***). They had a nice little move where the white guy catapaulted their opponent into something that looked like Edge's Downward Spiral from the black guy. THAT MOVE WAS HOT!!!!! I'm surprised no one in the WWF has stolen that yet.
Guest Kramerica Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 There was this one ghetto fed on UPN, that was like all black and minorities. One of the tag teams, two big black guys with a good look, did a sweet ass move. The bigger put the guy up for a powerbomb then slammed him down for a slash as he did a leg drop too.. it looked sick
Guest Austin3164life Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 The Old School Hart Foundation Finish Benoit & Jericho's Liontamer/Crossface Combo 3D Demolition's Finisher
Guest razazteca Posted April 25, 2002 Report Posted April 25, 2002 I forgot about RVD & Sabu's finisher - the ***** Frog Splash & the Leg drop at the same time from opposite corners!!!from Heat Wave 98.
