Guest evenflowDDT Posted May 25, 2002 Report Posted May 25, 2002 OK, Excess is dead. While I'm sure most of us would love to piss on its grave, the WWE is providing a temporary distraction by giving us Velocity (won't it be ironic when they have Mark Henry in their main event?) and Confidential. While I'm actually sorta looking forward to Velocity (no really; I used to watch Metal every week until they messed with its time slot on KICU36), Confidential seems to be strictly a one-shot deal, with this Montreal screwjob pilot. So... what could WWE Confidential possibly cover besides this topic? Meat being fired for taping workers? Backstage politics? What drugs were used by the individuals who concocted the Gobbledygooker? What incriminating photos of Mean Gene said individuals found to get him to dance with the Gobbledygooker? Yeah, right. Why doesn't the WWE make this "Confidential" a one-shot deal and have the slot be a "from the vaults" only show? Because, that would MAKE SENSE! Silly me...
Guest treble charged Posted May 25, 2002 Report Posted May 25, 2002 I'd like it if they just had cameras follow someone around backstage for a week (house shows, too), watching them get ready for their matches, stuff like that. That would be an interesting watch.
Guest Posted May 25, 2002 Report Posted May 25, 2002 Mene Gene said on Byte This today that the show was going to be a cross between Behind The Music and 60 Minutes. It looks like they will be having an indepth shoot interview with a different wrestler each week as well as special features like days in the lives of wrestlers and things like that. This show is going to be awesome, but they'll probably cancel it and turn it into a recap show soon:(
Guest Slapnuts00 Posted May 25, 2002 Report Posted May 25, 2002 I'd like a sit down "shoot" interview with Flair going back to his days in the NWA and WCW, his original WWF run, WCW's dying days and his return. Really. It's a lot to cover so they could make it like a 2 or 3 part over 2 or 3 weeks. While he talks they can show classic clips from WCW and WWF of his matches that are relevant to what he's talking about. I want to hear THE MAN speak candidly, and if this show is for real, a sit down with Ric Flair spanning his career would be awesome. It will never happen of course.

Guest evenflowDDT Posted May 25, 2002 Report Posted May 25, 2002 Aren't there supposed to be "flashback" matches during this show as well? Isn't that just "from the vault" with a new, nostalgia-inducing name? If they ditched that on Excess, why are they reinstating it for Confidential?

They came to the realization that the only people who would even consider watching totally superfluous wrestling-related programming on a Saturday night is the smart mark community. So, they're pandering to us.
Guest TheDames7 Posted May 25, 2002 Report Posted May 25, 2002 I'd love to watch Kevin Nash, simply because when he gets the chance to say what he has to say, its either really interesting, or really interesting bullshit. Dames
Guest razazteca Posted May 25, 2002 Report Posted May 25, 2002 I would like to see From the Vault matches with in depth back story of the build up of the matches, in the vein of Beyond the Mat commentary. can show matches from PPVs from the past such as: Savage vs Steamboat HBK vs Razor Ramon Brett vs Perfect Brett vs Owen
Guest Shaved Bear Posted May 25, 2002 Report Posted May 25, 2002 they can always have shoot interview, talk about the steroid trials, and have guys like jericho shoot on hogan and nash that'll be fun
Guest Posted May 25, 2002 Report Posted May 25, 2002 I'm not expected a total "shoot" interview, but I'll be happy if it's just an extenstion of Byte This or the post PPV wwf.com interviews. Dont play your character, just talk about your career. Everyone seems to do that except Trips on those things. And please show old matches, cause the new ones suck
Guest Posted May 25, 2002 Report Posted May 25, 2002 I want to hear an explanation of why Hogan won the title at WM IX in his own words.
Guest RetroRob215 Posted May 25, 2002 Report Posted May 25, 2002 I think they will talk to a current or ex-WWF SuperStar. He'll give a semi-shoot and they'll show some classic matches.
Guest buffybeast Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 I will watch Confidential tonight out of curiousity. But honestly, this is frickin' WWF we are talking about. How truthful and in depth are they going to get with their "shoot" interviews? Not much, I am sure.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 I like the show already. Mean Gene.....rules.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 I remember a while back on the site they had a thing saying they were looking for people to send in tapes of them imitating wrestlers promos. That guy doing Goldust was, scary. Look, its R V D and his airbrush guy! That guy rules too..
Guest Flyboy Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 Look, its R V D and his airbrush guy! That guy rules too.. Fuck, fuck, fuck! I missed the RVD outfit segment! I don't want to see Trish's bed, damnit!
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 Fuck, fuck, fuck! I missed the RVD outfit segment! I don't want to see Trish's bed, damnit! I wouldn't mind seeing her bed, in person of course, with her in it. Strangely I found her kitchen more fascinating though.
Guest Flyboy Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 I feel like I'm watching MTV Cribs or something... but it IS cool. Maple Leafs... Trish... treble orgasmed. j/k Boba head! Trish a SW fan? Cool!
Guest Nevermortal Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 Fuck MTV Cribs, WWE cribs is much better.
Guest Flyboy Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 "Playstation 2... Nintendo..." What?! No, X-Box?! I think it's too big to fit in that space.. (hee-hee)
Guest Anglesault Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 Something I noticed: The women's title looks plastic as hell.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 Hmm. She has a bunch of collectors stuff.
Guest Flyboy Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 This show is pretty cool Sure is. I wonder what wrestler they'll do next week (if they have a segment like this for every show)... Who wants to see Test's house? Rikishi?!
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 So, what oh what does Shawn say. Yes, no, maybe so? My prediction - he avoids the question or says uh for 5 minutes.
Guest buffybeast Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 Damn, fitness modeling and wrestling sure do pay well. Her house was very nice. Quite large for just one person. Anywho, I thought this show was going to feature just Shawn. The fact that it didn't is a little disappointing. But otherwise it has been pretty interesting.
Guest Flyboy Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 So, what oh what does Shawn say. Yes, no, maybe so? My prediction - he avoids the question or says uh for 5 minutes. Heh.. I was thinking he would give Gene the Sweet Chin Music and throw him through a barber's glass window.
