Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 Gene needs to stop calling pre Panda WWE WWE and call it WWF, like it was.
Guest the pinjockey Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 Mean Gene "It was clear Bret wasn't going to relinquish the belt to anyone under any circumstances." Well it is obvious what direction they are taking with this show. Once again Fuck the WWF.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 That Vince interview from 1997, the WWE logo looked extra thick and bold. I wonder what logo they put that over..?? Im nitpicking here..whoo..
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 Ohh...Shocking. Hmm. Not...Wait..No..Wait.. LOL. I think we need Bret's side of the story next week, sort of a Point/Counterpoint... chances in hell of that happening - 1 in 0
Guest Anglesault Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 Mean Gene "It was clear Bret wasn't going to relinquish the belt to anyone under any circumstances." Well it is obvious what direction they are taking with this show. Once again Fuck the WWF. That's how I see it. He personally didn't like Shawn. So what? You're leaving, DO THE FUCKING JOB!
Guest treble charged Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 This show is pretty cool. Man, Trish's house is HUGE, and she's a Leafs' fan, hmmm...
Guest Karnage Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 Pretty good show...but damn it's Vince's side of the story for Montreal.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 Well now I didnt need to see Lita's operation. That looks fairly p a i n f u l.
Guest jimmy no nose Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 So Vince, Brisco and Shawn were in on it and Hebner found out just before the match. I'd assume Patterson wasn't told because of his friendship with Bret. Didn't Shawn totally deny it on the RF shoot?
Guest Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 I'm more in love with Trish now than ever... and did my ears deceive me? Did Shawn finally admit to knowing about the Survivor Series incident before hand? This show rules! (even if it was a little one sided... Vince: "I let him hit me, I owed him that..." Yeah right!)
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 "Benoit holds the record for rlights of stairs the day after surgery." BWAHAHAHAHA. Benoit just became my favorite wrestler again.
Guest Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 the pinjockey: "Mean Gene "It was clear Bret wasn't going to relinquish the belt to anyone under any circumstances." Well it is obvious what direction they are taking with this show. Once again Fuck the WWF." That's how I see it. He personally didn't like Shawn. So what? You're leaving, DO THE FUCKING JOB! Agreed. Bret also didn't want to lose in Canada because he thinks that he's some big saviour up here. He's delusional. I'm a Canadian, and I've never looked up to Bret Hart as some hero. What wars did he fight in? How many lives has he saved? Is he a police officer? Is he a fireman? Didn't think so. I'm no one to defend Vince, I can't stand him either. BUT, Bret Hart has never had to run a multi-million dollar company like Vince has. So it's obvious that he couldn't understand why Vince felt he had to do what he had to do. I realize it's all moot now. I, personally, could care less who knew and who didn't or if it was worked or a shoot. I don't care. But, I'm sick of people STILL [almost 5 years after the fact!] pandering to Bret Hart and coddling him like he's some sort of [to borrow from Jericho] 'paragon of virtue' who has never done any wrong. I'm not talking about anyone in here, but just people in general all over who I hear go on about it. But, regarding "Confidential," I think it's turning out to be a pretty interesting show. I think they need to stick to the intersting quasi-shoot interviews like they're doing with Shawn Michaels and stay away with stupid crap like what Trish's house looks like or this thing with Ivory.
Guest treble charged Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 Pretty good show...but damn it's Vince's side of the story for Montreal. That may be true, but we've heard Bret's side for the last 5 years, so let Vince have his one show.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 Gerry Brisco: "It took alot of courage doing what Shawn did?" What...keeping from getting your ass kicked? Yeah, it's one sided but it's still a pretty fun watch.
Guest the pinjockey Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 That's how I see it. He personally didn't like Shawn. So what? You're leaving, DO THE FUCKING JOB! I agree wholeheartedly that he should have done the job when asked but why does Vince insist on lying to make himself look better all the fucking time. Would it have been that hard to be like "I wanted Bret to pass the belt to Shawn and he balked" instead of turning into he wouldn't job to anyone anywhere when Mick Foley already mentioned in his book that he was willing to pass the title to him or Austin or he at least did not want to lose it to Shawn in Montreal. I am not saying Bret was right, but why is it necessary for the situation to be over and McMahon still piling on lies. I also enjoyed Brisco pulling the pratfall of the century by stepping on McMahon's ankle right when there were no cameras in the room and Vince was walking into a room where it was assumed he was going to get punched and came out looking like he got punched. Awfully convinient timing.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 well Id say that this show was a thumbs up, although I think its more of a thumbs up - tape it and watch it later. Im wondering what else they can do segments on? And lol, Ivory has the quote of the week. "Breast implants are a touchy topic"
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 Vince wants Shawn to wrestle, if for just one more match. Yep, leave it to Vince to want one more match out of a wrestler who actually wants to stay retired.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 Since when does he want to stay retired? He's been trying to get back in the WWF for a while. First he showed up in no condition for a comeback...then he blamed HHH for badmouthing him behind his back. But he wants back in as a wrestler.
Guest Flyboy Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 But, regarding "Confidential," I think it's turning out to be a pretty interesting show. I think they need to stick to the intersting quasi-shoot interviews like they're doing with Shawn Michaels and stay away with stupid crap like what Trish's house looks like or this thing with Ivory. Actually, I enjoyed all the segments... not bad at all. Although, it could be personal taste...
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 I really like this show. It's a good way to kill an hour on a Saturday evening if you've got one to spare. I liked the fact that they (Shawn, Vince, Brisco, Hebner) were very straightforward with their answers, so the segment maintained a good flow and didn't get stalled down. Michaels, Brisco, and Hebner were very direct in stating what exactly their involvement was and how much they knew. I also liked Vince's "I don't owe Bret anything" line. Whether or not you agree, it's nice to see some certainty rather than a lot of the wishy-washy stuff we've heard over the last several years. This show definitely has some potential.
Guest areacode212 Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 the pinjockey: "Mean Gene "It was clear Bret wasn't going to relinquish the belt to anyone under any circumstances." What wars did he fight in? How many lives has he saved? Is he a police officer? Is he a fireman? Didn't think so. Bret was willing to drop the belt the next night on Raw (I think it was in Ottawa), either by giving up the title or by jobbing it to Shawn/Austin/whoever. Bret's deal was that he wanted Shawn to "show respect" (i.e., lose cleanly) to him in Montreal, since HBK never returned the WM XII job (he weaseled his way out of it by losing his smile). Speaking of which, did they cover the smile-losing incident?
Guest Human Fly Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 I was pretty surprised to hear that Shawn was in on it. He deserves on Oscar for his performance right after the bell rang. I was really surprised to hear him admit that he knew about it the night before. I wonder if HHH and Chyna knew. This show was really good. Trish's house is awesome.
Guest treble charged Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 Did anyone else catch this: JR: "No one else in (clip) history has won all the major World Wrestling (clip) Championships." Can't they just say WWF for the older stuff? Damn those pandas.
Guest papacita Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 Yeah I liked the show too. The Shawn interview was definitely worth watching...I liked the tour of Trish's house as well (honest to God that's the most I've been interested in any WWF segment since the ECW reunion...which is pretty sad now that I think about it), Gene's comment after the breast implant segment ("be sure you share em with someone else")...and SHAWN SAID THE C-WORD!!!!!!!! GREAT SHOW! Question about that implant segment...are they allowed to show Sable videos on WWF TV????
Guest C-Bacon Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 So Vince, Brisco and Shawn were in on it and Hebner found out just before the match. I'd assume Patterson wasn't told because of his friendship with Bret. Didn't Shawn totally deny it on the RF shoot? yes, and after bret asks shawn if he was in on it, they conviniently cut out the clip (found on Wrestling With Shadows) where shawn replies saying: "I had no fucking idea! My hands are clean on this won, I swear to god! I will have no part of this! I went back to his office and returned the belt!" or something to that nature. still, an interesting piece nonetheless.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 Did they go over Shawn/Bret's real life fued?
Guest Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 The Shawn Michaels interview is being continued next week and it is supposed to deal with all the other things.
Guest treble charged Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 I was pretty surprised to hear that Shawn was in on it. He deserves on Oscar for his performance right after the bell rang. I was really surprised to hear him admit that he knew about it the night before. I wonder if HHH and Chyna knew. This show was really good. Trish's house is awesome. Shawn definitely would have told HHH, probably just to get him to watch his back in case something happened. HHH would have probably told Chyna, too, so she could help out if needed.
Guest buffybeast Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 Treble, yeah I noticed that too. No, I don't think they went into much detail on Shawn and Bret's feud. And Vince is lying when he said he let Bret have that shot. Supposedly Vince didn't see Bret's fist coming. And Vince's comment that he doesn't owe Bret anything also sucks. He promised Bret access to his video library.
Guest treble charged Posted May 26, 2002 Report Posted May 26, 2002 The sad thing about Bret's library is, the only stuff he really has access to (post-Stampede) is his WWA stuff (which is probably the worst stuff of his career), and all of the stuff shown on "Wrestling With Shadows".
