Guest HartFan86 Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 Here are the correct brackets and my predictions. Please reply with yours. X-Pac RVD RVD RVD Jericho Jericho Val Brock Test Hardcore Hardcore Brock Booker Brock Brock
Guest The Vanilla Midget Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 rvd over pac jericho over val test over hardcore brock over booker (after book has it won but loses to nwo-ference) semis: rvd over jericho brock over test final: brock over rvd (but deinitely not clean, perhaps benoit interferes to set up an rvd fued to make up for austin's absence)
Guest HartFan86 Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 I spelt "predictions" wrong. I'm so f'n stupid.
Guest The Vanilla Midget Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 on a side note, you spelt "released" wrong too
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 RVD over XPac Jericho over VAl (I think theyd LIKE to put Val over chris...but the lack of Austin v. Eddy seems like a guaranteed RVD vs. Jericho match at KOTR is a lock) Test over Holly Brock over Booker (Nwo interference...either by XPac (to set up that match) or Big Show( for that match). RVD over Jericho (Edge interferes) Brock over Test Brock over RVD (Clean as possible. In a non title match...Brock goes over clean to cement him as unstoppable...then RVD wins the rematch for the title on a fluke rollup)
Guest The Vanilla Midget Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 bps: but with brock getting the goldberg push right now, and his seemingly being elevated to the topcard, can he even afford to lose to rvd by a rollup? although that would garner rvd a *huge* amount of heat (which isnt necessarily a bad thing )
Guest HartFan86 Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 on a side note, you spelt "released" wrong too I feel TOTALLY stupid.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 I think that at this point they need to elavate more than just Brock. especially since hes not really over yet. the formula for the rematch is that Lesnar counters all of RVDs spots into his power moves...and RVDs bumping makes Lesnar look golden...then a fluke rollup. Becuase IMO the last thing the WWE can afford to do at this time is sacrafice the most over midcarder they have seen in a LONG time for a push of someone that no one is really clamoring to see.
Guest The Vanilla Midget Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 yeah, its painfully obvious for us, but vince and jr cant seem to see over the hard-ons they have for brockberg.
Guest RetroRob215 Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 X-Pac RVD RVD RVD Jericho Jericho Val Booker Test Test Hardcore Booker Booker Booker Brock
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 Maybe this is a giant swerve! X Pac vs Test in the finals to piss everyone off! King Test!
Guest Goodear Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 X-Pac RVD RVD Jericho Jericho Jericho Val Booker Test Test Hardcore Booker Booker Booker Brock
Guest Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 I spelt "predictions" wrong. I'm so f'n stupid. You also misspelled "spelled."
Guest Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 Maybe this is a giant swerve! X Pac vs Test in the finals to piss everyone off! King Test! Sad things is, that's what I am predicting. Pac will bitch if he doesn't win and Test is Shane's "Boy", so.... Pac RVD Pac Jericho Val Jericho Pac Brock Test Hardcore Test Brock Booker Brock Brock
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 Is Holly a face or heel? It seemed like he had a face turn that came from nowhere. I expect Booker to cost X-Pac his match and I expect Booker to lose his match due to interference. I'm sorry, but Lesnar doesn't have the presence or offense that Goldberg had. Lesnar isn't as explosive as Goldberg and I think they should have stayed away from pushing him in a Goldber-like manner. If this were Goldberg, they could have had a big face turn by having him help Booker T fight off the NWO. With Lesnar, people should like him, but they couldn't care less about him. He was great during his first run-in, but he has fallen fast since then.
Guest bcu1979 Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 Doesn't it make Smackdown look weaker than RAW if both their wrestlers lose in the semis? But, why else have the inter-brand matches start in the semis? It could be argued that RVD, Booker and Brock are all possible winners from RAW. But everyone on Smackdown was just portrayed as nobodies tonight so they could shove Triple H down everyone's throat even further. Jericho's the only guy who I could possibly see winning, but that will never happen with the current political climate. I'll go against popular sentiment though and pick Booker as the winner, instead of Brock. Lesnar's not ready to wrestle two 10 minute matches on a PPV yet. He can barely get through a 5 minute match with Bubba on RAW. I'm going to guess RVD/Jericho/Booker/Test win their matches. Brock will get DQ'd somehow. The only question is what to do with him at KOR. Maybe they could hotshot an angle on RAW and have him face Flair. I think Jericho will beat RVD after someone interferes - either Eddie or Benoit if he's ready to come back. Booker then beats Jericho in the finals when Edge thwarts Jericho's attempt at cheating. If Booker gets a big win and they set-up RVD/Benoit and Jericho/Edge for the summer then at least the mid-card will be entertaining for a while. The main event's a lost cause at this point.

Guest TheyCallMeMark Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 DEFINATE MATCHES: X-Pac v. RVD. I could see this being potentially a good match. ONLY if X-Pac doesn't pull any lazy ass BULLSHIT it should be a fucking cool match. X-Pac can fly around pretty good. The sad thing is, the chances of this match being good are better if they let Pac go over, because he'll be more motivated, while at the same time if that happens it'll cheapen the match since he won. We just can't win here. Jericho v. Valbowski. I am fucking pumped for this. Val fucking rules. If he controls the offensive portion and works like the train he is and Jericho sells like a mad dog this should be a great match; or at least an exciting one. Really, this is kind of in the same boat as the other one, though. I love Val but if he wins I'm going to be PISSED. Jericho should go over not clean, I think. Either way I'll be torn. Test v. Hardcore. This could not, under any circumstances be very good. Even if Hardcore works hard and Test pulls out one of his suprisingly good matches, we'll be lucky if we see a *** match. I don't see Holly going over, and not suprisingly I don't fucking care. Booker v. Brock. I don't know enough about Brock to say for sure wether or not he's good in the ring. But I have to pick somthing so I say Booker is going to win but Lesner goes over with the suprise - to a massive pop and abruptly getting over effect - SHOOTING STAR PRESS~! PREDICTED SEMIFINALS: RVD v. Jericho. This could be interesting. I'm going to go with Jericho telling most of the story here and bumping his ass off again for the sole point of making RVD's offense as exciting as possible. I'm seeing the possibility of either a real stinker or a real gem here. I'm going to call this MOTN. Once again a real double-edged sword here with the winner. I'd LIKE to see Jericho go over cheating... And it would be the best... But RVD winning makes too much sense so I'll go with that. Test v. Brock. I don't see this being good unless Brock fucking DISMANTLES Test with power moves, and sells the pain of doing the shooting start press which Test capatalizes on. I'm predicting the Lesner win, though. PREDICTED FINAL: RVD v. Lesner. I don't see this being good, at all. RVD can't carry anyone and I'm sure Lesner can't either. One potential good match I see is that each tries to bust out their high-impact move on the other and they build around that. I think that could be pretty dramatic actually and tell a sweet story.
Guest Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 On SmackDown! tonight, they mentioned that the King of the Ring this year would be facing the WWE Champion at Summerslam 2002. With that being said, I can only see one of two people actually winning: Rob Van Dam OR Booker T
Guest midnight_burn Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 From that i think Brock or Booker will win the KOTR. Though it'll probably be Test winning. Yay.
Guest JHawk Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 Well, since I'll be a paying customer on the 23rd I'm very biased, but they'd better give me this or they're not doing their part to give me my money's worth. Quarterfinals: 1. RVD over X-Pac--If they fuck this one up, they die, but it should be a no-brainer. 2. Jericho over Val--I could tolerate Val winning, but that almost assures X-Pac winning the RVD match. Jericho cheats and advances 3. Hardcore Holly over Test--This is what I want, but I know Test is going over. 4. Booker over Brock--I have a feeling we're getting Brock winning this one, but Booker SHOULD win it with the scissors kick. Semifinals 1. Very tough call here. Either RVD or Jericho is acceptableif this match approaches four stars. I'll go with Jericho using the ropes for leverage. 2. Booker over Hardcore. Again, should be a no-brainer. Finals I dub thee King Booker the First.
Guest Human Fly Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 Quarter Finals X-Pac v. RVD (X-Pac goes over thanks to Eddy G.) Val v. Y2J (Val goes over either by fluke or Edge <uggh>) Test v. Holly (Test goes over clean or aided by the ring bell) Booker v. Brock (Brock gets dqed or Flair interference allows the Booker win) Semi Finals X-Pac v. Val (X-Pac with help from NWO) Booker v. Test (Booker goes over clean) Finals X-Pac v. Booker (Booker becomes King with Goldust interference countering NWO interference, or clean) King Of The Ring Booker T.

Guest chirs3 Posted June 14, 2002 Report Posted June 14, 2002 X-Pac vs RVD: I swear to God, if X-Pac wins... Winner: Van Dam Jericho vs Val: I swear to God, if Valbowski wins... Winner: Jericho Test vs Hardcore: MotYC! Winner: Test Booker vs Brock: What the- a match I can't predict?! Halelujah! The public is begging for King Book, but without buildup I dunno if Brock will on the fly job... Winner: Brock-ola. SEMIFINALS Rob Van Dam vs Chris Jericho: Jericho getting beaten here would only further diminish what's left of his credibility. But everyone wants Van Dam on this end... Winner: Rob Van Dam Test vs Brock: I swear to God, if Test wins... Winner: Brocky-poo. FINALS Rob Van Dam vs Brock Lesnar: Everyone will be begging for RVD... but that don't mean it'll happen. Winner: KING BROCK Edit: WHOA! Takes on the champ at Summerslam? I didn't hear that, but if it's true, RVD takes it.
