Guest bob_barron Posted June 30, 2002 Report Posted June 30, 2002 Me, my friend Eric and Jack started our trip to NYC by arriving at the World to meet Booker T and hopefully Hogan. We got there at 9:45 and the place was pretty full. We talked wrestling for awhile with other fans and security made an announcement- Those of us who wanted to meet Booker had to get in our own special line. IF we got in this line then we prob wouldn’t see Hogan. But we were all fuck Hogan and decided to meet the 5 time WCW Champion. We were like the only ones in line and the Hogan fans got pissed cause we got to go ahead of people who waited a whole day. We also insulted Hogan a lot and did 5 time poses. So we go in and meet Booker- since no one was on line we got to talk to him and stuff. Really cool guy. We came back at three to see Hulk Hogan arrive and despite threats of security we got pretty close to him and he’s HUGE. We then realised we made the right choice since Hulk didn’t really talk to people and we got up close anymore. X-Pac, Tommy Dreamer and Spike were also at the World. We hung around for awhile and then went to MSG. Here is your house show report Arrival time was 6:45 and our seats were awesome. B/c of the DC show with no ladder match we were worried we wouldn’t get one. But we saw them testing where to put the belt and stuff and were like- SCORE. While we were waiting to get up we kept shouting: Bring back <insert old school wrestler> Koko B. Ware is over. No one whatted everyone woooooed. Fink came out to a mega pop, Crowd chanted for Hogan. Now the matches with post-match comments by Eric and Jack. Spike and Bubba v. Regal and Chris Harvard Spike mocked the Regal wave. Bastard. Harvard got his ass kicked for a bit but soon Spike played face-in-peril. Yale and Maven chants didn’t get over. The Dudleyz even did the Wassup Drop. Bubba went to go get Wood allowing Harvard to hit Spike with his finisher for the win. Post-match Harvard went through a table. Good match, got crowd going. Regal is God. Match ran nine minutes. Jack: It was a good match but pretty pointless. Eric: Harvard wasn’t bad, interesting they did Wassup Drop. Justin Credible v. D-Lo D-Lo punched him and a huge wad of spit came flying out. Crowd chanted ECW, Aldo and boring. D-Lo sent Justin groin first into the post. Ouch. Dlo won a decent match with the sky high after six minutes. Jack: D-Lo rocks. Damn- the spit flew. I’m pissed there was no Sky High. Eric: Good Aldo chants, I miss Lodown. I love Dlo. Bradshaw v. Stasiak for the Hardcore Title Stasiak won thanks to a Steviekick from Richards. Spike ran in and gave Stasiak the Dudley Dog and won the title. Steven kicked Spike and won the belt. Bradshaw then gave Steven Clothesline from Hell and won after six minutes. Our Bradshaw’s gay chant semi caught on. Jack: Good to see Stasiak getting some kind of- I’m just kidding. I don’t know how much I can stand of this 24-7 rule. Eric: God Bradshaw is really bad. And once again the credibility of the hardcore title takes a hit. Molly Holly v. Trish- Womens title Trish has pyro and got a big pop. Molly’s pants fell down in a comedy spot. Crowd was kinda dead until the Hell Angels walked by us. Molly won with the Flair Pin in a good match after five minutes. Good match, one of the Angels looked like Ron Waterman. Jack: No one got into a she’s a fatass chant. Eric: At last a good female wrestler has the title. Trish is hot. Raven v. Matt Hardy Lots of near falls. Raven did a twist of fate but missed yodeling legdrop. Matt won twist of fate after six minutes in a decent match. Raven kicked his ass post-match. Jack: It’s a shame Raven is off RAW, they have no plans for him so there goes the Hardy-Raven feud. Eric: I really don’t know where they’re going with Raven. Seeing a new lock would be nice if only to give the jobbers something to do. Brock v. Flair Lesnar beat up Matt Hardy and has pyro. Everyone did their signature points including two Flair ballshots. Flair went for the figure four but Heyman and Chris Benoit!! ran in leading to the F5 after eleven minutes in an awesome match. Post-match Benoit locked in the Crossface. Jack: Damn good match. Awesome Benoit run in- too bad they’re not gonna build a feud off Brock v. Flair. Eric: Very good match. I want to see Shooting Star Press, it was cool seeing Brock kick Matt’s ass. INTERMISSION Dreamer v. Richards They both slapped the other’s ass. Dreamer took a fans Coke and Soda and tried to use it as a weapon. Steven won with Steviekiuck, crowd didn’t care. Bad match. Dreamer gave the fan his shirt afterwards. Six minute match. Jack missed the beginning do to buying a hot dog. Jack: I liked it cause I mark 4 dreamer and it was cool to see Dreamer watching main event. Generic match. Eric: Basic match, lack of E-C-W chants pissed me off. RVD v. Eddy for the IC Title in a ladder match Tons of highspots, crazy spots and general holy shit stuff. After every big spot and there were many the crowd applauded. Ending- RVD went for the belt but Benoit ran in and pulled him off. Wooooooo! Flair ran in beat up Benoit and put him in figure four. RVD went to get the belt and kept trying to pull it as Eddy kept trying to stop him until RVD finally got it. 20 minute match and was definitely MOTYC. Jack: Awesome ladder match, not as good as RAW still good. Better finish Eric: I sort of liked it better than RAW- not as much botched spots, some repeats, “cleaner” match, better ending. nWo v. Booker/Goldust Crowd LOVED Booker. X-Pac took Shattered Dreams. Some huge guy named Bigga jawed with Big Show whole match- funny stuff. Goldust played face-in-peril, Book came in and cleaned house and did the Spinarooni and Bookend to pin Xpac. Post-match Goldust did a Spinaroonie. Match lasted twelve minutes and was fun to watch. Jack: Amusing tag match, Booker’s pyro is really hot. No HBK or Nash at the show pissed me off. I mean it’s MSG. Eric: The biggest joke of the match was nWo. Booker is going places. JR came out to do ring announcing. Taker v. Hogan for the Title Hogan told Hebner to count normal. Dreamer came out to watch and a fight in the stands broke out. Security kicked one of the fans asses. Hogan blew the roof off the place. Match sucked of course. The ref got bumped so there a few false finishes. Finally Hogan hulked up, big boot/legdrop but Vince ran in. Hogan beat him up but walked into a chairshot and chokeslam after this 16 min match. Post-match Hogan beat up Taker, pulled down his pants and posed. Jack: I liked it better than JD. However I was also watching the fight and Dreamer. Hogan’s ass is disturbing. Funny when Dreamer flipped off Taker when he beat Hogan. Eric: It was interesting that Tommy Dreamer is more interesting than main event. OVERALL- Jack: First show ever. Good show, strong uppercard, avg. midcard and no low card. Hot dogs were good, can’t wait to see O’Haire on Heat. Eric: Disappointed no developmental talent. Still very good show. 2/3rds uppercard ruled. Me: Awesome show, Ladder match was fantastic live. Cool seeing Flair kick Benoit’s ass. Top Pops- Hogan, Flair, Trish, Booker and Dudleyz Top Heat- Taker, Vince, nWo, Regal

I really haven't been to a house show in years. I should experience one again. The last 6 shows I've been to have all been TV. Here's to hoping they bring another PPV to the F.U. Center in Philly.
