I post on TSM and all I got was this lousy blog.

What else do you expect from a board that bans people who complain about the fact the wrestling forum has a million pinned threads, and only has room for two regular threads. What is the deal behind that anyway? Why is there a need for so many pinned threads that there is almost no room for regular threads?

 

 

 

 

I think its a holdover from the days when the main site used to drive the board and not the other way around.

Well, DEAN has changed his workrate report to Comics. Plus they've added a bunch of new reviewers to their VRs. And their layout on their main page has changed from basic to veeerrry basic.

Welp, I couldn't have said it any better myself really. As someone who was around the board in the early days (1999), I can see how things have changed. Back then, it was mainly a bunch of workrate fans who discussed match quality and the like. There weren't many flamewars and people were generally intelligent and mature. But even back in 2000, I noticed a small shift in the way the board was going. More and more people started adopting the "I enjoy WWF and they put on good matches, I don't care what you puroresu elitists think." attitude. And it seems like there's a good number of people like that polluting the board today. "Fuck that smark shit" "LOL @ Not thinking Gurrero is the best in the world", "There's more to a great match than workrate" as the person gives some poorly wrestled WWE main event ****1/2. It just seems like there's an anti-elitist/conformist attitude that has more or less turned into a conformist/elitist attitude itself. It really sucks, because I don't even know where to go to intelligently discuss in-ring wrestling anymore. But yea, the dick-riding of certain wrestlers and the absolutely crucifixion of certain (intelligent) opinions has just gotten out of control.

 

Although I should probably add that the DVDVR guys are still good folks, and there are a few really good posters there, so it's not a complete loss. I guess the thread quality just hinges on whether or not certain regulars post in the thread. There are a few regulars (and a lot of random, faceless people) who just drag down any thread they post in.

Yeah, I still like the Playaz, but the laissez faire attitude that works for them (because they actually know a thing or two about wrestling) doesn't work for the majority of the wrestling board. And I think EvilIraqi is just about the dumbest cocksucker on the planet.

To me, Lushus is a guy who can sing, but doesn't know the lyrics. He can say some pretty silly things sometimes. A few more years, a lil more jaggedness, some exposure to better wrestling and he'd be worth listening to.

Possibly too late to ask this, but if I made a promise to you that you could go crazy being creative and post whatever you wanted, would you come back to NMB?

While no one will likely read this as I've only recently decided to drop by here again, I will have to say that you, as usual, are right on the money, RRR.

 

While I haven't been around here for more than a year (a trip overseas was the reason; I also wasn't able to watch WWE but then again I didn't particularly miss anything groundbreaking aside from the failure of Super Babyface of the Ages Randy Orton), I have been lurking at DVDVR for a few months, thinking about registering there, but never coming to the point of caring enough to do so. That board loves some of the strangest things - Tomko being the newest big question mark. I avoided TSM because I thought that the posters here whose comments I enjoy reading have left. Thankfully, it is not the case and actually the opposite is true.

 

Funny you should mention the love they give the Eddy/Rey feud. After GAB, a poster there named Red Grant made a thread about how he would give it ****+ and it was such a compelling story. DVDVR/TSM crossovers probably know who that is, but those who don't, it's the Batman-loving fucktard who was known here as MrZsasz. I was quite pleased when I read that he was banned just three months after I stopped posting, and I laughed and laughed the threads surrounding the banning, in particular his pitiful attempt at flaming Loss.

Like, I didn't ponder "where is Mullato??" or anything like that. But when I read your post, I was like "Holy Shit, Where was Mullato??".

 

It's more of a retroactive missed.

I just went today and I must say that it's pretty hard to look at that board now. There are people who actually consider Carlito the best worker in WWE right now.

 

I only go there for the matches folder now.

Obviously this is old as shit, but I just got bored enough to actually read your little "blog" tonight. Anyway, how did I make the top of your list of bad posters who enjoy shitty storylines? I actually quit watching the WWE shortly after your initial post because their storylines have gotten so bad.

 

I guess I'm a "mark" in the sense that I enjoy good storylines as much as good wrestling, but I certainly don't want to be grouped in with people who enjoy crap like that Eddie/Rey feud, or who are trying to say that the WWE is still good and that we should give them a break.
