Sabu, who was credited with putting Extreme Championship Wrestling on the map on WWE's Rise and Fall of ECW DVD, was recently released from the hospital after a 50 day stay due to a myriad of health problems. A benefit fund has also been set up for those wishing to donate to Sabu but are unable to attend the event. A donation may be made via Paypal.com to [email protected] or a check or money order may be made out and sent to: Georgiann Makropoulos 23-44 30th Drive Astoria, NY 11102-3252 Be sure to mark the donation - SABU FUND – in the memo. If anyone wishes to get more information about the event or to donate items for the show, email [email protected]. The organizers of the show wish to make it clear that while we deeply appreciate the outpouring of independent performers willing to donate their time to perform on the show, the card has been booked, and we hope everyone will donate their efforts to help Sabu in other ways. Credit goes to 1pop-up.con's bastard stepchild. That should fully answer your questions. Looks like a pretty strong Indy card so far.
geniusMoment 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2004 Whats sad is if Paul had let Sabu go to WCW in February of 2000, he would have had a 3 year 300,000 per year deal, the last two years of which he could have sat at home, rested, and collected money. Instead, Paul made an example out of a man who basically sacrificed his physical well being for ECW. I was a huge ECW fan, but this leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
