Recommended Posts

I was just on wrestlingobserver.com and it mentioned an up coming benefit show for Sabu. I was just wondering what had happend. Was it an injury or something. Sounds like a really good show though. Thanks for the help.

The last I had heard, apparently he has several non-life threatening tumors on his back.

SABU BENEFIT SHOW ON DECEMBER 12

TNA superstar and wrestling legend Sabu was recently hospitalized for a lengthy time dealing with a number of health problems. As a result, many of his friends, fans and colleagues in wrestling will be joining together on December 12 for a special benefit show for Sabu.

“A Night of Appreciation for Sabu” will be held on Sunday 12/12 at the Diamondback Saloon at 49345 South I-94 Service Drive in Belleville, Michigan.

Belltime is 6pm.

Tickets will go on-sale at the Border City Wrestling/Prime Time Wrestling Show this Sunday Nov 28th at Diamondback Saloon. Special VIP Tickets will be $30 and include a autograph session with all the Superstars appearing on the show (at 4pm) and choice seating. General Admission tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under.

Confirmed Matches include:

Raven vs. Shane Douglas

AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels

America's Most Wanted vs. Team Canada

Chris Sabin vs. Petey Williams

Other talent committed to appear includes:

Insane Clown Posse and The Rudeboy

Jeff Hardy

D'Lo Brown

Monty Brown

Sharkboy

D-Ray 3000

A number of independent promotions are donating merchandise for the show to help raise funds as well. Sabu, who was credited with putting Extreme Championship Wrestling on the map on WWE's Rise and Fall of ECW DVD, was recently released from the hospital after a 50 day stay due to a myriad of health problems.

A benefit fund has also been set up for those wishing to donate to Sabu but are unable to attend the event. A donation may be made via Paypal.com to [email protected] or a check or money order may be made out and sent to:

Georgiann Makropoulos

23-44 30th Drive

Astoria, NY 11102-3252

Be sure to mark the donation - SABU FUND – in the memo.

If anyone wishes to get more information about the event or to donate items for the show, email [email protected]. The organizers of the show wish to make it clear that while we deeply appreciate the outpouring of independent performers willing to donate their time to perform on the show, the card has been booked, and we hope everyone will donate their efforts to help Sabu in other ways.

Credit goes to 1pop-up.con's bastard stepchild.

That should fully answer your questions. Looks like a pretty strong Indy card so far.

Whats sad is if Paul had let Sabu go to WCW in February of 2000, he would have had a 3 year 300,000 per year deal, the last two years of which he could have sat at home, rested, and collected money. Instead, Paul made an example out of a man who basically sacrificed his physical well being for ECW. I was a huge ECW fan, but this leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
