I may have to sit through Cena vs. Khali, but Elijah/Punk and MVP/Benoit in a 2/3 falls match? JD is already looking to be a good show.

It annoys me that Nunzio seemed to last longer than Sandman against Snitsky. Fairly average show by my mind, I enjoyed the Monty Brown and Elijah matches, and the RVD match could have been a lot worse. Am I the only wrestling fan that didn't know about the "Tag Rope"? I thought it was just the ends of the turnbuckle fastening, which wrestlers held onto out of habit.

I'm glad Edge is getting his 3rd world title, but I can't see how Khali vs. Cena is going to be anything better that awful at JD.

Yeah, that's the reason I had him down as well, plus Sandman. If I could meet them both together it would probably be the most fucked-up alcohol-fuelled day ever, but probably the most fun.

I could find one Khali "UUUUHHHWRRRRRAGGGGUUUUUU WRRRRRAGGGGGAAAAHHHH" promo funny, but after that I'd be done.

What's the reckoning on what made him "Unfit to perform"? Alcohol, cocaine, mixture of both?

I'm guessing most of us "forgot" it because we skipped that show due to the unappealing card. If a crap joke is one the highlights of the show, it stands to reason it wasn't a good show.

Obvious prediciton: Khali runs (well, strides with arms-a-swaying) into the main event to beatdown Cena, but only after Cena beats Orton clean.

To be honest, I didn't really like the Flair angle, I don't remember the Carlito one, and Foley says himself in his book how messed up the ONS angle got compared to the one in his head. But the flaming table spot, plus seeing Edge shaking in fear shock and pain after beating Foley, was a definitive moment that changed my view on Edge, and probably helped his career significantly, similar to how Foley has done it with Orton and HHH.

I thought his match with Edge was the best match of WM22.

Which news sites do you guys use btw? I check Lords of Pain about twice a day at the moment, but I'm wondering if there's anywhere that catches more stories?

    The Undertaker tears his bicep.

Looking at the next PPV poster they're obviously planning to do something with Kane. I've haven't been watching SD, but from reading the spoilers it doesn't serem like they've been bulidng up to anything, so maybe it is Kane's turn.

I saw the Batista v. Kennedy match from the Rumble, and I wasn't impressed with Batista's work. In fact, I've always seen Batista as another roided-up guy with no ring talent pushed like hell in the WWE. But then he had a cracking match with Undertaker at WM23, and proved it wasn't a fluke by having another cracking match at Backlash. So part of me wants to see whether he can continue this solid run with a lesser opponent like Mark Henry. But then I remmeber it's Mark Henry, who I didn't like in 98, 02, 04 or 06 and that there is not much of a chance ofme liking him in 07. So even though it's a crappy way to end MITB, put the belt on Kennedy.

I'm guessing DVD sales are many times that of PPV as, $1.2mil x $50 is only $6mil, and that ignores all the ppv provider costs and such. With those kinds of figures, are the main point of PPV's to promote the DVD sales 2 months down the line?

    Smackdown spoilers from Birmingham, Ala.

So I guess the cage match will have probably have an injury angle then, with Batista getting his belt back. So the "long title run" looks to be 6 weeks in the end, well, it's double what RVD ended up with.

Batista, Kane and Kennedy are the top 3 in terms of likelihood of getting the belt. Has no spoilers been relased from the TV tapings yet?

Hmm.. his wikipedia page gives absolutely no details on what he did before wrestling. I reckon he was a bailiff for some reason.

    The OaO Backlash 2007 thread.

My views Hardy's - Rednecks was a fairly solid match, but there was nothing special to make it memorable. Melina - Mickie was again solid, and I liked the splits spot and lack of hair pulling / rolling about slapping each other you find in most matches. I wanted to see a title change though. MVP - Benoit was obviously the best technical match of the night, but I prefered the chain wrestling in WM 23. Didn't expect Benoit to still be champ though. Lashley - McMahons + Umaga was shit. Shane didn't bust out any crazy shit, and Umaga had a poor night by my standards. I could have coped with a Shane win, but putting the belt of Vince just pissed me off. With RVD probably leaving now, and Sabu + Sandman likely to go with him, they should have just slapped the shit out of him in that promo, it would have added to their worth in TNA rather than looking like dopes (If any of you see this promo again, look in Sabu's eyes. I reckon's there's real disgust there). Overall I preferred the UT-Batista match to the 4-way, although the pyrotechnical finish made me groan. Though a draw was a good ending I thought. I think that Taker is looking in the best shape of his career right now, his chest is really defined, and with age slowly catching up on his skin it adds a really cool gristled veteran look. Main event was well carried out. I'm not a fan of the finish personally, maybe would have liked to see HBK superkick Orton with Edge incapcitated, then have Cena bundle HBK over the top rope before collapsing on Orton. The finish they used made it look like HBK got screwed, but mine would have been more like a draw, making it 1-1-1 for the Cena vs. Michaels series. Oh and Edge is starting to look pretty flabby now, maybe he should inspect the insides of a gym again. Overall a good PPV, but nothing really special to make it excellent. Probably 6/10, would have been 7 but the Mcmahon shit left a nasty taste in my mouth.

    The OaO Backlash 2007 thread.

I think Michaels is least likely to walk out champ, for me it's 1. Cena 2. Edge 3. Orton 4. Michaels
