6 matches? Surely they could have a Londrick vs D&D rematch at the least. If all PPV's are going to be multi-brand, I thought there would be more matches rather than less. There's no Kane, Finlay, Carlito, Kennedy, ECW (Lashley doesn't count), cruisierweights, nothing. Unless this is like December to Dismember and there's a load of non-advertised matches, this could be a very short PPV.

    Matches to Check out

Rob Van Dam vs. Dan Kroffat (AJPW World Jr. Heavyweight Championship 09/06/1995) It may lack the RVD chair antics I always enjoy, but this has the best actual workrate of any RVD match apart from the Jerry Lynn encouters I've seen. Some very good transitional stuff here, plus this Kroffat guy is very good also (Never heard of him before, apparently popped in up 96 Survivor Series). And RVD does a 450 splash, which I have never seen before.

I hope he signs a new deal eventually, or if he must leave WWE, at least pop up in NOAH for a bit before the inevitable TNA appearance (I would kill for a KENTA - RVD match).

Another injury question here, but how many times has Sabu broke his neck? I know there's the Benoit one, but on Taz'a wikipedia page it said he broke it with the table bump at Barely Legal. But then again, that could be wikipedia bullshit. Does anyone know?

Changing the subject here, but does anyone know how Matt Hardy is? From the way he was lying after his match on RAW it looked more like a concussion than a neck injury, but I don't want him ruled out of Backlash.

If any of you want to find more about ECW, especially pre-PPV stuff, I recommend an old compilation tape/DVD called Extreme Warfare. I got a copy off eBay which arrived today, and it's shaping up to be legendary. The first match was the infamous Sabu vs Benoit neckbraker (What I didn't know what that the bump was only about 1 minute into the match). And the 2nd one which I'm watching now is Sandman + Funk vs. Cactus Jack + Franchise, and sign guy has just unveiled his latest most infamous creation, "Cane Dewey". Cactus pays no attention to it when he sees it like, and just goes back to cracking Sandman with a chair.

    The OaO Raw SPOILER-FREE thread.

With such a slow build-up to the match, could they have not slotted in a quick 10min fast-paced match beforehand? They had plenty of available guys in Jeff, Shelton, Nitro etc.

    The OaO Raw SPOILER-FREE thread.

Right here's my main event RAW preperation 1. On Tuesday morning, hit up the BT sites and set off RAW going while I'm at school (I'm British, and I guess by year terms I'm a high school senior). 2. On Tuesday night, my parents go out so I hit the beer 3. I watch RAW that night while under the effects of about 4 pints of ol' British Ale, and therefore don't remember much of it the next day So, I've just seen RAW, and even though I'm drunk and sleepy, I was jumping up and down for ages just to see a clean no bullshit Cena loss. Personally, I also think this was a worse match than WM23, but the fact it didn't follow that (and WM 22's) ending (of F-U, opponent finisher, 1 failed attempt at STF-U then 2nd time tap out) means this match rates highly. I was disappointed that my co-patriots didn't boo Cena more strongly, but there seemed to be more women in the crowd than I expected. If you're wondering why Mourinho (the dude Shane O'Mac called out) got booed so badly, London has 5 top-division clubs in Chelsea (the team he manages), Arsenal, Tottenham, West Ham and Charlton, plus many smaller clubs like Crystal Palace and Millwall. So the likelihood is that under 10% of the fans there supported Chelsea.

Come on, everyone should know how to get the latest Raw from the internet nowdays. I shouldn't, but after watching it tonight I'll split and upload it unless someone else does.

I thought the Smoking Skull belt was the coolest thing ever when I was a kid. Anyway, there's only been design mods for Austin, Cena and Edge, right?

There is the possibility of Cena (or Lashley, or Taker) dropping the belt at Backlash, and regaining it at either Judgement Day or One Night Stand. But creating a poster with all 3 champs holding their belts for a PPV 2 months away and then releasing it this early seems a really stupid move.

Didn't Rhino have somewhat of a legitimate reason in that his marriage was on the rocks? (On a side-note, Rhino gave me my first mark-out moment in ages when I watched his match with Spike at the Massacre on 34th Street PPV. When Spike started puking up from the choke I thought Rhino was legitimately trying to kill the little bugger.)

I always thought they screwed up Rey's run by making him look too weak. I mean, he was always going to be an underdog champ, but back to back losses against Khali and Henry was just horrible booking.

I think the idea of the thread was for people to be objective not subjective. You might want to see Jeff Hardy over the Rock, but that doesn't mean the majority of the people feel the same, and I'd wager money they don't. That's why Cena is number 1 on my list and Hardy is 8.

Top Ten Draws In U.S. Wrestling

I think I have watched the ladder match from my Wrestlemania 16 tape over 10 times, the fatal four way main event 3 times. TLC 2 from Wrestlemania 17 has again got over 10 views, Austin vs. Rock maybe twice. Seeing that I haven't watched these tapes since I was 14 tops, it shows that Hardy draws kids. I definitely was doing more Swanton's off the couch as a kid than Stunners on my friend's. Spot monkeys draw. I had no idea the number of times you personally watch a match over makes a certain worker a "draw" - I've heard alot of wild reasoning why someone feels the way they do on a certain subject, but this may take tops. Congrats. Someone needs to clarify what a "draw" means, I'm too annoyed to even bother. It shows I want to watch Jeff Hardy more than The Rock. Therefore I'm more likely to see a show with Jeff Hardy over a show with The Rock. Hence, Jeff Hardy draws more.

Top Ten Draws In U.S. Wrestling

    1. John Cena 2. The Undertaker 3. Triple H 4. HBK 5. Ric Flair 6. Hulk Hogan 7. Rey Mysterio Jr. 8. Jeff Hardy 9. Rob Van Dam 10. Batista Top 4 are pretty obvious I think. 3 are 10+ year WWE vets, I put HBK bottom of those because I think he's had less presence in mainstream media than the other 2. Flair I think still draws due to the huge legacy. I'm counting Hogan as active due to the Lawler affair, but I think people are more interested in his family than his matches. Young lads love the spot monkeys (Jeff Hardy was my favourite as an 11 year old), which explains 7-9. Cena wins though, just because he has mass appeal with kids and girls. Plus even though a lot of us may hate him, we'll pay to see him just to vent our fury at him.

Jeff has more exciting matches just because of the divvy stunts he does. But Matt looks more like a credible wrestler at main-event, and he's solid enough on the mic, plus I think he sells better. Compare that to Jeff, who's slightly hopeless talking and just kinda flails his limbs around in taunts.
