I remember PWI in their top 500 officially disqualified all but the WWF Doink from being ranked, there were so many running around.

Wrestling II would have upset Savage with the million dollar kneelift.
-
No wonder ECW started getting popular.

This sounds like a great idea, but Melissa will most likely upset someone or rub them the wrong way and will get crushed by Kong. I'd say that one was definitely wishful thinking.

On some of these I don't know if they're as much predictions as much as how I'd book. Also I haven't watched as much TNA as in the past over the last couple of months so forgive me if anything is completely idiotic because of it. -Cheerleader Melissa (face) will have a Jekyll and Hyde gimmick, splitting half the time as Raesha Saed (heel). She'll also win the belt as Cheerleader Melissa from Kong. Foley will try and get her head right due to his past multiple personalities but it will make it worse and a third personality will emerge, a Cactus Jack as she was a huge fan of his 10-15 years ago. -The knockouts will get their own weekly 1 hour show on Spike and it will do at least as well as the main Impact program. Gail Kim will return but will start out in the midcard. Roxxi will turn heel, beating down Molly Holly who's doing a legends type appearance on the new show. The fans will turn on Taylor who'll have to be heel as a result. The women will have their own tag belt and the division will have 15-20 full and part time workers. -Hernandez will get a major singles push in the main division, Homicide in the X division. They won't split and will still be allied and team occasionally. -A third member will be added to the commentary team, possibly Cornette or a returning Shane Douglas. Douglas will not wrestle or be involved in the ring at all. -The Beautiful People will split and feud after the backstage treatment of the female interviewer goes too far. -Consequences Creed will have a complete makeover. Jay Lethal will completely drop the Savage gimmick/homage. They'll feud after Creed thinks he's being dissed as too inexperienced. Lethal will be more over after squashing Sonjay Dutt and ending that feud. -Sting will turn and get one more run with the belt. Jarrett will turn and join what's left of the mafia after injuries or wrestlers leaving whittles it down. AJ Styles will also win the belt during the year. _Christopher Daniels will do a worked shoot over his Curry Man character and come back darker then ever, pushing Kevin Sullivan devil type limits. Spike will get complaints but his segments will be among the highest rated on Impact. He'll put Sting over but still be a main part of the show. Worked shoots as a whole will decline down to none as the Orlando fans start putting over kayfabe and rejecting "smart" booking. -The Dudleys will get one last chance with a tag title run and will put over the Machine Guns for the belts after being chased for months. They'll turn face after "earning respect" from the Guns. Earlier, Rude and Storm will also get a run as faces but lose to the heel Dudleys. -Angle will continue to be a big part of everything when he's healthy but will share the spotlight with Daniels, Cheerleader Melissa, AJ Styles, the Machine Guns. Foley will have a few singles matches and they'll be hyped to excess. -Talent leaving: Nash, Scott Steiner, Christian if he's not already gone. The Guru, Daivari and other X division types will last through the year but will be interchangeable. Angle will stay but his matches will be cut down to to more injuries. Abyss and returning Judas will team and ally with Christopher Daniels. The Prince Justice heroes idea will be scrapped if it's not already. -Samoa Joe will be a full fledged heel after a bitter and hateful in-ring interview, trashing the fans over anything and everything-telling them to stop chanting for him, etc. -A TV title will be initially won in a tournament by Booker T. It must be defended each Impact. -Returnees/newcomers will be Chris Harris, Judas, Michelle McCool and Kimbo Slice. Not as many WWE firings will end up in TNA as expected due to budge constraints except on the new women's show. Legends like Road Warrior Animal will still make appearances but not be involved in the main events. -TNA will make up with ROH and both companies will benefit. Current ROH talent will earn shots at the X division title and Samoa Joe, Homicide, others will make ROH appearances.

At my kids' elementary school NWO then Austin shirts were so rampant it resulted in a dress code change. The kids who didn't wear them for whatever reason, male or female, were the outcasts.

MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread

How much do fighters working outside the big name organizations earn? -
After an old NWA house show Dusty and a couple more faces, I'm thinking Nikita, Ronnie Garvin, jumped into a limo as the fans had gathered in large numbers behind the arena exit. The limo pulled out quick and some fans nearly bought it.

Randy Savage explodes onto the Memphis wrestling scene. Savage: "You ain't never met nobody like me!" Lance Russell "Well you got that right."

What year is this set or am I missing one of the points of it.

Ongoing Impact spoilers for this Thursday

Reading that, when he brought up ECW, for a second I thought what's that about, there's no such thing anymore. The current product didn't even register at first. -
What Would Be Your Theme/Entrance Music?
Hasbeen2 replied to Diamonddust's topic in General Wrestling
Larry Zbyszko used that during the final days of the AWA. My song, Gimme Shelter, Rolling Stones -
Has anyone ever come across a composite ranking for the wrestlers in it over the years. Also PWI did a best 500 of the PWI years a few years ago. There would be a few changes to it since then with wrestlers added and some moving way up. Have they done another since then?
-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxmYAkvL5MA Brian Lee is butchered by a mystery opponent. Brutal. The entrance music should tip it off immediately. Referee Mark Curtis, the cameraman, the Fantastics, random wrestlers out trying to make the save all get roughed up too. Like it was said in one of the comments, Bob Armstrong does a great job selling it. "Somebody's gotta call the law!"

Not too long ago, I'm giving an interview in the WWF, with the late 80s stage. I get jumped by Rick Rude and his manager Jimmy Hart (not Heenan) and Hulk Hogan makes the save. That was it. Short and random.
-
Wait, what? I always thought that Barbarian was one of the better big men of the late 80s... you thought he sucked? I always liked the Barbarian too. Duggan and the Sheepherders had some good matches and brawls especially in Watts mid-south territory. The Nasty Boys in the early 90s had good brawls in WCW. WWF runs of guys like Duggan, Bushwhackers, Skinner/Steve Keirn, others, ruined them in the eyes of a lot of fans.

George Gulas. Promoter's son, a while back. Think Erik Watts, x 10.

Not exactly what you asked for but I'd say Benoit and Guerrero would be thrown into the top of main event scene immediately, Saturn and Malenko would be mid-carder/upper mid-carders or in a team, maybe with each other. I wouldn't see all four as a group. I'd have Sabu go for revenge over the broken neck, Benoit go over, leading to a Benoit-Van Dam feud for the belt after Van Dam beats Awesome for it. Benoit, Guerrero, Van Dam, Awesome, Sabu and a rotating spot (Raven, Dreamer, etc depending on health) could be their version of the Smackdown 6. I don't know if anything short of bringing in Austin or the Rock could have saved the show unfortunately.

Part of the problem with TNA in the quick moving segments, all at once segments is that even though it might be entertaining it doesn't add a lot in the long run or just doesn't make a lot of sense. From what I've seen in the WWE most all of it has been happening for a reason and everything is building to a conclusion or transition at least. It's a good thing it's 1 in the mornng or the Punk squash post would crash this board.

Ole Anderson shows how to generate heat (with the fans). Sorry if it's a repost, didn't want to go through 81 pages. Tojo Yamamoto shows how to generate heat. Lance Russell: "I'm telling you what Tojo, you're nothing but trash!"
-
It's not. Do you think on the average, even trained and athletic women are as likely to use that style and come out okay?
-
KANE is back. Was he wearing the mask? I gave up on the show when the opening promo looked to be going half an hour.

Observer: Moose, known independently as Mickie Knuckles, suffered a broken leg last night at the IWA Mid South show in Joliet, IL. The injury, which took place in a match with Sara Del Rey, was so severe that the rest of the show was canceled (it was the final event scheduled) and asked fans to leave the arena. According to a report it was a horrible injury to witness. Knuckles was selling her leg from a leg submission, but did a dive off cinderblocks in the ring and for realism, did it while selling. She landed with almost all her weight on the right leg and the leg snapped above the knee in a manner compared to the ugly Sid Vicious injury on WCW television years ago. She underwent surgery today for a broken femur. http://www.f4wonline.com/content/view/5918/105/ I don't think it's weak to cancel the rest of the show especially since the report says it was the last match, what else could they do, have someone come in and pin her opponent? The workers probably have a lot of respect for this woman and I'd guess many were really upset. She's basically "one of the boys." Yes this is old fashioned thinking but I'm still not sure I like the idea of hardcore for the women, blading, dives onto gym floors and such. Even if it's someone like Moose/Knuckles who can do it successfully most of the time, if the style gets more popular you'll see some broken and crippled ladies especially in small promotions.
