    The Upcoming Shows/Rumored Fights Thread

I meant any of the newly listed fights. Paixao couldn't handle Louro coming up in weight, while Wagney is a big featherweight; Koscheck v. Karo is obvious; Wolff has't shown me any reason to believe that he has what it takes to handle a Top 20-esque guy like Yoshida; and I think Dias subs Province early.

None of those fights would be too competitive, IMO.

So Curry, are you upset you may not get the chance to call him out on the you-know-what?

So is it not okay to say "nigga" even if you're a halfie? Lame.

    UFN: Stephens vs. Lauzon

Gym legends who couldn't translate their skills inside the cage/ring would make for a decent topic. Vasconcelos would have to be near the top, along with Tito's BJJ game.

He had one that was similar, but with a curved blade and a ball-like grip. Don't know if it was Cold Steel.
  10. I nominate myself, based on too much drunken, OT posting and a decreasing level of effort put into my MMA posts.

My brother used to own a shitload of knives when he first got out of the Marines. Dude was pretty much a walking Cold Steel catalog. Most of the bouncers usually carried one or two weapons on the job, with the main exceptions being our manager and our other black security guard, who both happened to be the biggest guys there.

Nah. I was in a long term relationship at the time (pretty much the whole time I worked security), so I never really took advantage of the chances I had to get laid from the job.

I guess the lesson of Tibau/Clementi is that if a guy wants dap for punching you in the grill, you give him dap.

Storytime. One of the more interesting characters from the club days was a dude who went by the name of Posh. I have absolutely no idea what his actual name was, but I think it works better that his name was that ridiculous. Anyway, the guy was something of a cross between your typical hotheaded Bro, and a faggy metrosexual. At different points, the guy had tried to get a 16 year old girlfriend into the club, and tried to make out with the gay bartender Donnie. Anyway, the dude was absolutely HATED by every single security guard at the place, but for whatever reason, the female bartenders loved him, and so he couldn't simply get stomped out. My first interaction with him came during a relatively normal, if busy, night. It wasn't unusual for guys to get tired of waiting in line to use our small restroom, and thus I often had to deal with guys getting in my face with varying degrees of hostility over the situation. However, Posh actually managed to surprise me with the sheer bravado he showed in acting as though the typical rules of club didn't apply to him. Dude comes right at me (whereas the line to the men's room runs along the wall, out of view, to my right), and when I try to stop him, he simply says "Get the fuck out of the way." I grabbed his arm as he tries to go inside, at which point he follows up with "If you lay your hands on me again, I'll see to it that you're fired." Rather than take a chance over someone who may actually have some pull, I motion for another security guard over to explain what happened, see if he knows that guy, and ask how I should deal with him. Upon opening the door, the security guard seems to immediately recognize the guy, who looks back from the urinal just long enough to flip me off. The security guard explains to him that though I'm relatively new, he needs to treat me with the same respect he would have for any of the other guards there. This asshole responds by rolling his eyes, and offering me a limp-wristed handshake, whilst sighing out "I'm Posh, and I don't wait in line." After he scurried off, the security guard told me a little about the guy, mostly involving how every other guard wants desperately to kick the shit out of him. Later that night, I relay what happened to my brother, who informs me that he already heard about the situation, and then shared his history with Posh: When my brother first started working at the club, Posh had tried to cut in line and walk right into the club, at which point my brother stopped him. He immediately copped an attitude, and got into a verbal exchange with my brother. Eventually, he started acting like he wanted to get physical. Posh: *squaring up* "You must not know who the fuck I am." My brother: "No, you must not know who I am, so you'd better fucking ask around about me. Because I will fucking kill you and stick you in the trunk of your fucking car." Anyway, the owner eventually came out and let the guy in. Posh asked him about my brother, and Zeus told him "Yeah, he's not the type of guy to say shit like that and not mean it." This rightly freaked Posh out, who tried to shake my brother's hand as he left that night. When my brother didn't extend his hand, Posh asked "Oh, so that's how it is?" "Fuckin' A, that's how it is. Don't think anything is squashed." Posh had done little after that to endear himself to my brother or any other security guards, and upon finding out what happened that between Posh and myself, my brother told him that I was his little brother, so he had better watch his step around me as much as he did around my brother. Me and Posh had another encounter a couple of weeks later (which I can't really recall), thus leading to him receiving yet another warning from my brother that he was on thin ice, and that my brother had better not hear about him starting shit with me again. Things came to a head weeks later during the owner's birthday party. This was the very first night that I ever got drunk at work, as the owner was so incredibly wasted early on that it was seen as a green light for every other member of staff to get shit faced and have a good time. It started out innocently enough, as my brother gave me a "Joose" (10% abv energy drink) to start the night off, and then let one of the door girl, who haded wanted to get me drunk for a while, do shots with me a little later on (she stated at one point that "(Your brother) says I have to suck your dick tonight."). Anyway, by 1 o'clock or so I was pretty drunk, and can't remember exactly the events leading up to Posh getting in my face once again. Granted, being drunk on the job for the first time probably didn't lead allow me to be in tip-top form whilst doing my job that night, but everyone seemed t be having a good time prior to the altercation. Once again Posh got in my face, saying shit for reasons I can't really remember at all. What I do remember, however, was that my brother came out of the bathroom at that moment, drunk as hell and having just overheard Posh threatening me. As he walked out, Posh's eyes immediately showed how scared he was, as my brother got into his face: "You know, I already fucking warned you... and you know what? I'm tired of fucking playing with you." At this point, my brother pulled out his Cold Steel Vaquero Grande... ... and placed the blade underneath Posh's chin. One of the DJ's nearby cried out, in the faggiest voice possible, "____, NO!" Upon hearing that, I immediately freaked, and reached out to pull the knife down. Between mine and my brother's drunkenness, I'm not sure who was to blame for the giant fucking gash I received on my thumb, though I started bleeding pretty good as a result. Posh immediately freaked the fuck out and left, while I cleaned myself up as the party winded down. The night ended with the owner unable to even stand, my brother drunkenly falling whilst trying to lift him up, and me falling trying to drunkenly lift my brother up. My brother would later claim that he was simply going to slice Posh's chin/jaw open and freak him out, but I think Posh was plenty scared anyway. After that, Posh still acted somewhat entitled, though he always kissed my ass in the process, and acted as though I was his best homie or something. For my part, I just let him slide, as I REALLY didn't want to give my brother than excuse to commit murder. ON TOPIC-NESS: Serbia's best fighter is that dude who Cain raped.

Rogan could not be harder for Lauzon, who still fights largely like a spaz. Blaming the loss to Florian on the altitude was fucking weak, too.

Props to Stojnic for being retardedly tough. Unfortunately, the Homer Simpson strategy doesn't work as well when the other guy doesn't gas.

Yeah, though I might rock him once seeing as how he loves getting punched in the face.

I said he was good, but I didn't say anything about not being stupid enough to continually shoot in on Stevenson. Don't be mad that that Tibau just showed how bad all those fighters who've lost to Clementi suck.
