What an honor, finishing ahead of all those hockey players and...uh, other world class Canadian athletes? -
Penn's win over Stevenson has a lot of visual impact, but it wasn't a beginning-to-end beatdown, as there were still a handful of moments throughout the fight where Stevenson was actually fighting somewhat competitively. On the other hand, Saunders has basically forever replaced Silva/Jackson I on HL reels documenting the most ridiculous Thai plum barrage in MMA history, while St. Pierre blasted on Fitch repeatedly for the better part of a half hour, dropping him repeatedly and looking to have him out at several points (though the fact that Fitch hung in increased the overall severity of the ass kicking).

Yeah, forgot about my "fellow" Mexicans (followed closely by "Bros," of any ethnicity). I once accidentally let half of the East Side Riva in one night, though that didn't stop the owner from sticking me back on the door the next week. At the risk of sounding bigoted as fuck, it's usually pretty easy to judge a patron based on their looks as to whether they're likely to be a troublemaker. -

A lot of clubs actually have discriminatory policies towards black guys. One of the bouncers used to work at a club where they kept a third clicker to keep track of how many "Others" (black guys) were in the club at a given time, and wouldn't allow it to exceed 50. Even local PD would stop around and ask how many were in the club, so as to know the relative likelihood of a fight. While working the door at myself, there were several nights when the owner straight up told me to keep a lid on the number of blacks I let in. It's fucked up, but it's also an unfortunate reality that many of the black club goers we would get were cheapskate trouble-makers, and not really worth the hassle. Also, if you end up fighting bouncers who deny you entry to a club or otherwise treat you badly, you're more or less justifying them in doing so. -
To be fair, I don't think Holyfield was quite 40 during the Ruiz trilogy, and wasn't far removed from having twice gone the distance with Lewis. Of course, drunken recall isn't always reliable.

So does Ann Coulter.

I'm 20-0 when outnumbering drunk guys 3-1. < tough & hardcore -
Carwin's a good prospect and all, bu it's hard to pick a guy who's faced absolutely nobody of worth just yet, and is going up against an opponent with a world class jiu jitsu game and KO power standing, even if said opponent is a mental midget.
-
Gonzaga should manage to take Carwin before he mentally implodes. I'll say via leglock, just for the hell of it.

I'm just hoping Okami murders Lister in a sensational enough manner so as to make the evening news or some shit, and a rematch with Silva unavoidable. -
Okay, there's no way that fight doesn't end up being hilariously brutal.

"White guy;" essentially a stronger version of "gringo." -

I'm not really DRUNK, per se, so I'll keep this one brief-ish. I wasn't working at the time, so this one is actually from my brother: It started when some little, white wannabe was trying to act down in front of a bunch of eses whilst waiting in line outside of the club. He was walking up to them, saying shit like "Orale! SureƱos!" and shit like that. Of course, this guy was too fucking stupid to realize that possible gang bangers don't like being called out in any form, especially not by stupid gabachos. So my brother grabbed the security guard doing pat-downs, and basically told him "Get this fucking guy out of here before he gets himself killed." However, when the security guard tries to get the guy to shut the fuck up, the little wannabe starts shooting off at the mouth even more, about how he doesn't like being touched, and that nobody disrespects him and shit. This was more amusing than threatening considering the dude looked like he'd never been part of anything harder than a polo team, but the comedy shot to a whole other level when his bitch tried to get herself involved. "No, baby! Don't get crazy! They don't know who you are, baby!" Now at this point, my brother, the door guard and another security guard who's arrived on the scene to see what the commotion is all abut fucking lose it, and start laughing their asses off. This only serves to turn the girl hostile as well, as she quickly responds by telling my brother to go fuck himself, and calling him a faggot and whatnot. Rather than responding verbally, my brother simply takes the cigarette from his mouth and flicks it right at the bitch's face, nailing her right in the eye. She starts howling and screaming bloody murder, running around like a freshly decapitated chicken. And her boyfriend, being the hardass gangster he is, responds by yelling at the top of his lungs, "OH MY GOD! SOMEBODY DIAL 911!" The bouncers get another hearty laugh out of this, as does everyone else in line, as the boy scampers off with his girl in search of some medical assistance, I assume. A little while later, my brother notices the same guy approaching from a distance, so removes his jacket, hands it to the door guard and starts rolling his sleeves up in anticipation of a fight. Living up to his reputation once again though, the guy pauses in his tracks and says "Hey, man! I didn't come back for that, bro? I just want to know why you gotta' disrespect my girl like that, bro?" My brother simply rolls his eyes, and tells the guy to fuck off before he beats the shit out of him, which the little wannabe does, of course. -
The Brits already pay for shit Warren promoted fighters to face scrubs, so why not?

I would laugh to death.

I somehow missed the fact that Gerald Harris is now with Arizona Combat Sports. I like Harris and think it's a good move for him, as I think ACS is better at attuning wrestlers to the submission game than say, Team Quest, which should help round his game out. -
Diego is indeed a better fighter, and should be favored in this fight, but I'd be remiss if I didn't express some concern over Diego's bullish takedowns playing right into Stevenson's guillotine game. Of course, it may never come to that point (Diego is a more well-rounded striker), but worth pointing out.
-
I'd go with BJ's late-game submission against Mamoru for Comeback, and have also been considering a sort of "Career Revival' award, inspired by Nakakura, last year, as well as an opposing award, "inspired" by Paulo Filho.

Justin Levens and his wife found dead at home

Torre ended up choking the guy to death with a RNC, after he failed to bribe fellow MMA fighter Gerald Strebendt to commit the crime, IIRC. He later told Gerald it was in self-defense after the victim pulled a gun on him after learning of the affair. Torre supposedly asked Gerald to provide him with an alibi and to hide the guy's gun. -
Here's hoping Tibau can finally get over the hump and pull one out against a relevant LW again.

The Benoit murder also had a lot more sensationalism to it: the extended nature of the crime, the weird Bible shit, the speculation over whether he might've used his own pro-wrestling hold to kill his kid. This is simply like any other sad murder/suicide you might read about in the local paper. Even the aforementioned Torre case had an affair, a life-insurance plot, attempts to outsource the murder, and most damning of all, the perp using a BJJ technique to murder the victim. If people were going to use an MMA fighter committing a crime to damn the sport as a whole, that would've been a much better example. -
It's somehow more retarded than the WCC alternating between a "grappler's division" and "striker's division" back in the day.

McDaniel's was actually even worse, as his moan was projecting in a filled arena.
