So is anyone else as psyched as I am for Torres/Bowles? It's very rare you end up with title bouts between a dominant, established champion and a dangerous, definitive number 1 contender. Some people have been sleeping on Bowles, but stopping Valencia, Louro, Page and Ribeiro consecutively is insane for a guy so early in his career.

"I'm pretty sure that's the look someone has in their eyes before they stab someone." - Frank Mir on Miguel Angel Torres. Don't be fucking with a Mexican rocking three names.

Also, back-to-back underwhelming performances against Team Grabaka in Bushido... ... and wanting desperately to be the most Korean non-Korean ever.

He didn't criticized his Jiu Jitzu you moron... He just said Nogueria's Jiu Jitzu was pretty basic, which is true. There was nothing wrong with what he said, Nogueria overreacted. I'm getting sick of morons trying to say Vinny bashed Nogueria's Jiu Jitzu which isn't true. Roger Gracie has very basic BJJ as well, but he's one of the greatest. And to be honest if Vinny is just as good if not better then Nogueria at BJJ. I know Vinny is a very decorated player at BJJ, tournament-wise but NOBODY is better at implementing jiu-jitsu into MMA then Noguiera.

His success will depend on the quality of his masking agents.

Oh and looking back... LOL at Lei Tong taking Kingsbury over Marshall or Magalhaes... I was actually more inaccurate last season.Anyway, I never have much faith in guys who are known to be underachievers (Marshall) or mentally weak (Magalhaes). I probably underestimated Marshall, but I still don't have faith in Vinny against anyone who doesn't shit themselves in the face of his BJJ game. Besides, my Mexican beat your Hawaiian Oreo.

Maeda is a much better striker than Tapia, and still eventually got his shit wrecked. Tapia's wrestling and jiu-jitsu is better, but any extended rolling with Torres is going to end badly for him. Pretty much his only chance to win is to earn a conservative decision, whereas Maeda at least had a striker's chance, so to speak.

... fighting skilled grapplers after years of physical punishment? Hell, the deterioration may be a moot point; if you look at his resume, he wasn't exactly facing submission threats through most of his career.
-
Eh. Tapia is simply outgunned, and Takaya is simply too small to be fighting at 145 here in the states.
-
When was this? He's had long periods where wasn't submitted, but he's proven himself as succeptable as any other good grappler throughout his career. To illustrate, a haiku: Both legs in kneebar Triangle double armbar Dude, get some damn width

Bullshit. I love all of your guys' inferior ethnicities equally.

Well, if you guys would've shown more love for my SHOOTO rants, maybe we wouldn't have to consolidate the Nip discussions...

You're still overhyping him, though, and this from somebody who applauded his submitting Petz. -

As was mentioned elsewhere: is it an unspoken agreement that Alistair's supicious muscle gain is not to be talked about? -

I gave the 2nd to Ludwig, as he hurt Yves standing early in the round. and from then on, all Yves had was a couple of takedowns. Afterwards, he couldn't even improve position on the mat, and lost pretty much all aggression. I also gave the third to Ludwig, as Yves was pretty much in survival mode at that point, and continued to let Bang take the intiative standing and on the ground. Close but clear, IMO. I'm kind of suprised people are giving Yves a free pass on trying to guard hump his way to a JD, as I don't think many other fighters would get the benefit of the doubt in such a situation. -

Hasn't been a good year for Canadian boxers on the whole.

Celestino Caballero stalked Steve Molitor around like a horny gazelle for 4 rounds before dropping him with some glancing punches via his laces, and finishing him off moments later. The fight was good for a laugh and 20 bucks from my buddy who was convinced that Molitor was the goods.

All three judges and both Sherdog scorers disagree with you. I'll wait to make my own judgement, but it wouldn't suprise me to if Yves managed to lose. -
Mitsuhiro Matsunaga had Bigelow beat by a few minutes on the same night (assuing the fight wasn't worked).

Oh, yeah? Well you're a knob.

Randy Couture didn't want to give his likeness to a UFC video game, and you know what happened to him? -
But you insinuated (if not outright stated) that GSP had more natural talent than BJ, which is a very debatable statement. My point is that when BJ comes into a welterweight fight out of shape and still manages to hang with bigger, world class fighters, I'd say that natural talent is a large part of what makes him able to compete.
