It would work better if your used Zito's actual organized crime ties. -
Considering Karo pretty much worked Serra on the ground, I'd say "most likely."

Robinson is a bigger, stronger, and I'd argue better wrestler than Lauzon, and aside from a nice shoulder throw, got completely dominated in the takedown department by Florian. Mishima is another good example of a guy with good wrestling who had trouble taking Kenny down. Joe, on the other hand, got taken down repeatedly and rather easily by Manvel in their bout, and hasn't shown exceptional takedowns against anyone of note. Also, Florian not only wrecked Stout with ease (who, despite his weak ground game, has managed to survive there in the past), but dominated the previously mentioned Mishima and Robinson, two accomplished grapplers, from the top. As far as experience goes, Kenny has competed against former Top 10 guys in 3 weight classes, while Joe's biggest step ups have seen him submitted by the best guys he's fought (mainly at FW). Also, you've yet to point out why you think Joe will dominate the stand-up beyond being aggressive (which Robinson also was), which will serve only to bring him into Florian's comfort zone (the clinch). -

Not really. Kenny has shown comparable takedowns to Joe (I'd say Lauzon has the better shot, while Kenny is better from the clinch), but better takedown defense. He doesn't need to be able to submit Lauzon off his back to beat him. His top game is very effective, and if a smaller, T-Rex arm-having Gamburyan can largely dominate from the top, I see little reason to think Florian won't. "Leg kicks don't mean much" from the guy who joygasms over what Alves can do with them? Kenny's a good overall kicker, and skilled in the Thai clinch. Luazon's stand-up isn't anything to write home about, and usually relies on overwhelming an already outmatched opponent. Besides, Florian got his face beat in by Leben and never crumbled. The Thomas fight proved nothing as both guys mostly waited for opprotunities to counter. And Lauzon's aggression hasn't proven effective in the past against higher quality fighters who don't simply shit themselves at the first signs of adversity. Also, trying to shit on Florian's resume in comparison to Lauzon's is about as retarded as anything you've said in the past. Going to a close JD with a larger, much more experienced Drew Fickett in his second pro fight is about as impressive as anything as Lauzon has down thus far. Stylistically, this fight will probably resemble Kenny's fight with Alvin Robinson. Robinson's aggression and strength gave Florian problems early on, but Kenny controlled Robinson with some good takedowns and eventually wore him out with his G&P. -
*Bouncers via nWo style post-fight beatdown*

The majority I see are big (200+lbs) guys, but there have been some surreal moments, such as a 130lbs., 21 year old GrapplersQuest champion (who has never drank before) getting utterly wasted and challenging a bouncer twice his size to a fight. "You ain't never had none of this!"

nodog.jpg I've mentioned this to YPOV (who hasn't experienced the same thing), but of all the new people watching MMA nowadays, I could honestly do without a majority of them. Most seem to fall into a mind-numbingly ignorant group who only follow the UFC yet can't even discuss that intelligently, but even worse is the influx of gym rats who think that a couple of months of BJJ or muay thai training and a Tapout shirt gives them free reign to declare themselves "cage fighters" (even worse are the few who actually HAVE had a few fights under their belt, who openly parade themselves as "21-0," as though anyone gives a shit that they beat up on Joe McScrub last weekend). While I have tons of respect and admiration for most MMA fighters and am glad that they're starting to get the attention and (gradually) pay they deserve, the random assholes I see every weekend yelling about tapping out other bar patrons or fellow staff members have withered my joy a great deal.

Jens busting out the Cromado-style grovit on the supposed guillotine expert will likely go down as the best moment of the event. And yes, that includes the Release German Suplex. -

Well, with Bowles KO'ing Galvao, their bantamweight division is starting to look pretty damn legit. -

I'd be throwing alot of these unaired fights up if I knew how to get certain security measures. -
No knock on Huerta, but Florian via well rounded top game.

I forgot how uncomfortably homosexual things get when you guys post around the same time.

Had Omigawa stuck to schoolyard bully tactics (shove & punch), he could've taken that fight. Regardless, Omigawa's always fun to watch. -

I'll actually second Curry's Anderson love. I've doubted the guy for a long time, but he's obviously worked hard to improve his game, and has absolutely demolished some very legit competition this year. Add in a level of sportsmanship that slowly seems to be dissapearing from the sport, and it's hard not to like the guy. Also, previously written off gatekeepers Akitoshi Tamura & Takashi Nakakura coming out of nowhere to pwn their respective SHOOTO divisions.

I like Oleg as much as the next guy, so watching Marsh murder him will be no fun at all. -
Eh, whatever. A big Korean got embarassed. Fin.

Fedor was supposed to fight Choi (ridiculously tall Korean who got his faced knocked off by Mighty Mo), but instead fought Kim Min Soo (ridiculously fat Korean who enjoys doing the Harlem Shake).

Rashad Evans versus Michael Bisping to headline UFC 78

I don't think he gave up as much as realized going for the same scissor sweep that had failed a dozen times already probably wouldn't do him much good. -

Gono slipped most of Tamdem's strikes sans the knees in the clinch, and actually landed better shots at distance throughout. -

Filho/Sonnen will be interesting solely for the fact that Filho is going to have to work off his back. -
I don't think Speer was L&P'ing as much as he was simply tired, bleeding, and not very experienced. I remember thinknig to myself "For a mediocre guy, Speer is at least trying his hardest." Also, on the competitiveness of the field: my sex is artsy: "Do you think George & Mac could just split the rest of the house, 7 & 7, and take everyone else out? I'd say one a day is doable."

A jacked, 265+lbs. guy whose fighting experience is a total of about 60 seconds won't gas should the fight go deep? Excuse me for being a bit skeptical

Gono is too hotsex for McCrory. That being said, I'd love to hear Gono try to pronounce Tamdan's last name.
