I doubt it, personally. His takedown defense is nothing to write home about, and with the inclusion of the cage and elbows, he'll have to worry about more than getting grapplefucked on the mat. -
But would you also say that GSP's BJJ, for example is also unproven (the word I believe you used), given the fact that he's shown as little off of his back as Koscheck?
-
Savate may be the gayest martial art around, and thus easily a strong contender for most homosecual form of kickboxing there is.

All props for a good fight by GSP aside (of which he deserves a great deal), you're again missing the point. YPOV never said that Koscheck's proficiency in BJJ should be measured by what he can or cannot do off of his back. If going solely by that measure, GSP's BJJ must sucks ass too, considering the only signinficant thing he's ever done from there was get submitted by Hughes. As for the stand-up, again, YPOV only ever stated that Koscheck would probably be able to use his stand-up well enough to set-up a takedown. Given that he only attempted a single shot in the fight that I can recall, it's a toss-up as to whether this reflects more on Kocheck's impotence standing or inability to take the initiviative tonight. Also, while a bit drunk and fucking sick of telling people all nigh thtey're violating dress code, I'm fairly confident in saying that I'd take GOnzaga in a rematch, if only because I think him bustung his nose up only happens 1/10 times Randy nails that high crotch.

Koscheck via Antonio McKee+ness. -
No one at DVDVR gets reps for anything ever.

Cote once subbed MacDonald. In some Highlander fahsion, that must mean something.

Holding his achy body after his second night back in the jitz scene. *prepares an Epsom salt bath*

Sherk I get, but ATT connection with Hermes? Hermes has long come off as a FW roiding up into a LW's physique.
-
Hermes and Sherk are actually two of the least suprising ones in a while.

Though Etim has some skill, Tibau is the goods and I expect him win decisively.

Nate is either trying to recapture the glory of his Pancrase days, or is off the sauce.

Despite being one of the more knowledgable MMA posters I know, Blue is possibly the "expert" most easily swayed by his own biases.

Considering you've actually mentioned this fight as being interesting and/or competitive has thrown any proper context for your comments out of the window. Besides, you still offer drugging as a possible reason for Wladimir's complete meltdown, which is ridiculous as aside from low blood sugar levels, no evidence or motive for a possible drugging was never found.

...Oh, Jesus tittyfuckin' Christ. That being said, Brewster looks to be beyond done, so Wlad should take this easily.

As Sherdog's own Jordan Breen has said, Nate has the style to basically tool Silva. Then again, he wasn't nicknamed "Narco Nate" for no reason, so I wouldn't be totally suprised to see Franklin get his rematch.

I don't think people are giving Okami enough credit for how skilled he actually is. People seem to think that the third round of the fight was some sort of indictment of Franklin's skills, as opposed to Okami proving that he actually has the ability to compete at the upper tier of the division. On a side note: Comparitively to Marquardt, I'd say Nate has the edge in striking & submissions, while Okami has the advantage with wrestling & positioning skills.

I think that can be pretty easily attributed to having to cut weight on very short notice. -

If you're going to base hatred of a guy largely on one fight, you should at least get the facts of the fight right in the first place. Also, I'm not going to argue that O'Brien's fights weren't largely boring to most people. That being said, I liked watching the guy fight. In the Herring fight, it was fascinating to watch this kid even younger than me absolutely dominate a much more experienced fighter with skills rarely seen amongst HW's nowadays. Most people were upset that Jake didn't finish him, while I was more enthralled as to whether Jake would be able ride out a win against a very squirmy opponent with a knack for pulling victory from the jaws of defeat. I'm sure most MMA fans would rather watch a couple of guys like Aleksander & Khraritonov punch each other in the face, but I'm not most MMA fans. But anyways, O'Brien had a chance to be something special in MMA, and to see that possibly end so prematurely is truley a sad thing to me. -

I'll third the Yoshida/Silva carry job notion. -

Yeah, Lord knows that the young, 22 year old kid was never going to evolve as a fighter anyways. Shut the fuck up.
