Solomon should've asked for a stipulation allowing him to wear headgear.

That's more a condemnation of Pulver than a commendation of Arai. -
UPDATE: will likely upload all but 1 fight from SHOOTO: The Devilock today, as most of the matches are one round drubbings.

Another problem for Rashad is that he has no viable offensive weapons against Bonnar, unless he can unleash a Hughes/Ignatev style slam. 2 of Bonnar's greatest strengths are his chin & toughness, as I've yet to see him look seriously hurt or close to quitting in a fight. He's going to bring the fight to Rashad all night, and is likely to catch him with something before long.

Pulver's chances in UFC's LW division are even worse than in PBushido; he's not going to be a champion in either, but UFC has a distinct lack of TAISHOs & Kenji Arais. -

Well, common. You're practically begging me to rip this list apart: Yoshihiro Akiyama - Promising Judoka, but hasn't really stepped up much in terms of competition. Kazushi Sakuraba - Old & overrated. However, has enough skill left that he should still do well in this field. Melvin Manoef - Promising, though still very limited. Carlos Newton - Never-was at middleweight, coming back from a long bout of inactivity. Rodrigo Gracie - Good, but not a true middleweight, and a draw with Monma raises a lot of questions. Kestutis Smirnovas - So-so, having lost to his best competition. Shungo Oyama - I love Shungo, and actually think he could do well against guys his own size. Needs to get a real team and refine his game, though. B.J. Penn - Tentative at best, though he has the skills to beat most of this field. Won't mean much for legacy, though. The fields of both Bushdio WWGP's shit all over this line-up. -
What, you've never wondered why he's called "Ace"? OK, I"m gonna have to ask for the 411 on that one... Hatsu Hioki Unofficial Nickname: "The Iron Broomstick" Team: ALIVE Style: Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Height: 5'11 Weight:143lbs. TKO Featherweight Champion Left Hominick like this:
-
Another problem for Gurgel is that he's not Hatsu Hioki.
-
Whew. I was worried that my MMA sensiblities was making me overly critical of his shoot-ish work.
-
Also, Jorge Gurgel is a gay stripper. He works the same clubs as DJ Taiki & Kenji Arai.

Actually, Barreto's triangle was locked on Black Donkey Kong pretty well IIRC, and put his ass out. But the one on Bobish? He barely crossed his ankles and pulled on his fat head before Dan was tapping like a bitch.
-
Oh, and Lawler tapping to Tanner's triangle before Evan could even get the arm across was pretty weaksauce as well.
-
I'm pretty sure my references go over the heads of pretty much everyone here, except maybe a few that YPOV get. *does secret Brown Brotherhood handshake* EDIT: on account of our skin the colour, the previous gesture is now a "gang signal"
-
"You couldn't be more fucking wrong, buddy." *punches heavy bag for 15 minutes, smokes a cigarette, leaves gym*
-
Probably a combination of his MMA-trolling in the WWE folder and the arguments he got into after the ECW PPV.
-
Gono basically said that having himself, Suda, Chonan & Minowa all in the same tournament was ridiculous, especially considering that Paulo Filho was being kept in the reserve bout, despite being a favorite to take the whole thing. Only Aoki has been as critical of PRIDE matchmaking since.
-
It's just trash talk, no need to take it serious. If your not all that confident in Arlovski winning, than whatever. I think Sylvia is going to put an end to this Arlovski myth on July 8th. Sylvia is the only legit fighter Arlovski has ever beaten. And if St. Pierre Vs. Hughes rematch is in MTL, and you and I both attend, if I was you, I'd watch out... I'd shit talk you behind your back then point to Rudo and say that he did it. Rudo being about 5 inches taller then me and having 70+ pounds. Well if he's so big, why's he duckin' me? *beats chest*
-
Akihiro Gono will tell you that not only did Dan Henderson beat him fairly, but that he's also a rather unpleasant looking guy with no KO power, then talk about how shitty PRIDE's matchmaking is. Gono brings the honesty.
-
I find it more incredible that he calls it lucky despite getting dropped in pretty much the exact same fashion in the rematch. Sylvia's legit, but God he's such a pervy goober.
-
Tito's all about La Raza.
-
Between Vera & now Bisping, I'm now convinced that the best prospects are the most likely to catch undue flack. I mean, these two catch shit and yet Aleksander and Sam Stout are fucking world beaters? Common.
-
Bisping's cutting to MW afterwards. He and everybody else knows that he wouldn't stand a chance in the LHW division. I think people are counting their chickens with Bisping a little early, though. In the two fights we've seen him in he's made enough mistakes that a veteran worth their salt would kill him. It's already been established that he can get rocked and taken down fairly easily so hopefully he's worked on the areas that need improving. Considering the level of wrestling in England is pretty damn low... well, it's a good thing Bisping has a good bottom game. He has a lot of athleticism, though, so a good deal of improvement is possible. In a way, he's much like Forrest in that they're both suprisingly good considering that they come from rather unspectacular camps (I defy anyone to name another good fighter from either Straight Blast or Wolfslair). Also, I don't think anyone is saying Bisping is ready to take on the world's best fighters, but he's already good enough to demolish many guys hanging around in the Top 25. EDIT: Oh, and getting caught with Ross' haymaker and getting knocked off balance is hardly as bad as Robbie Lawler not checking legkicks or James Irvin having absolutely no ground game whatsoever.

From wikipedia: Example of an air choke: Note the forearm against Fujita's throat Example of a blood choke/strangle: In regards to the "sleeper hold"/mata leao/rear naked choke, it's pretty much impossible to choke someone unconscious without getting an arm beneath the victim's chin, as otherwise you're simply appling a chinlock. Also, the act of "tapping out" predates MMA, as it's long been a method of surrender used in Judo & Jiu jitsu practice and competition. However, the popularity of the phrase has become pretty much synonymous with both the MMA and the submission wrestling crowd.

Jesus does not approve of Josh naming his child after a pagan diety. You'd think Thor's hopsital stay would've shown him that.[/goingtohell]
