The way I see all the possible semis going: Bisping/Hamill: Bisping via KO, Rd.1 Bisping/Forbes: Bisping via submission, Rd.1 Bisping/Haynes: Bisping via KO, Rd.1 Hamill/Forbes: Forbes via Unanimous JD Hamill/Haynes: Hamill via Unanimous JD Forbes/Haynes: Forbes via TKO, Rd.2 Starne/Herman: Starne via submission, Rd.2 Starne/Grove: Starne via TKO, Rd.2 Starne/Singer: Starne via submission, Rd.1 Herman/Grove: Grove via Unanimous JD Herman/Singer: Herman via Unanimous JD Grove/Singer: Grove via Unanimous JD

C&P'ed from elsewhere: The semifinals that make the most sense to me... Bisping/Forbes & Hamill/Haynes for the lightheavyweights. There are several reasons Bisping has to murder Forbes: - They've already built it up slightly (Bispings extreme dislike of Jesse, plus taunts and anger at him being brought back) - The finals would look slightly worse if they included someone who had previously lost to a guy widely perceived to be a pussy-whipped bitch - Hamill/Bisping has been built up since the beginning of the season for the finale, and Haynes presents less of a danger to Matt than the bigger, stronger, more athletic & better wrestler Jesse. For the middleweights, Starne/Singer & Grove/Herman. The way I see it, whomever faces Kalib loses, and whomever faces Rory wins. By this logic, the only toss-up match would seem to be Kendall against the seemingly rusty Ed. Of course, if Ed is ready to be the badass he thinks he is, he should take out Kendall and set up the final against Starne that everyone predicted at the beignning of the season.

Because it was supposedly a sloppy & boring fight on a night which had plenty of quick knockouts and action packed fights. Besides, aside from leading to Hoger's stay in the UFC, it's not an important match. -

The prelim matches from the finale are on Disc 5: Bonus Materials (except for Southworth/Hoger, which it seems they would like to be forgotten). -
I've only seen clips, but his BJJ looks legit, and he's won almost every fight with ease, including over Jason MacDonald, who though rather middle of the road, usually at least goes deep against opponents (Kalib stopped him in the first). Kendall has a lot of height and reach, but I'm not sure he knows how to use it too well. He's something of a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none type (though better overall than Rory), though he's lost to some pretty average competition. Ed has impressed me in the past (especially by busting up Misaki in loss), but most of his big wins aren't as good as they seem on the surface (Thompson is a better welterweight, Menne is past his prime and kind of small for 185). He's also extremely overconfident (especially in his submission skills), and looked rusty against Danny. The way I see it, whoever faces Kalib in the semifinals loses, and whoever faces Rory wins. So, I think they'll set up Kalib/Rory and leave a pick 'em between Kendall & Ed. Before the season I would've picked Herman rather quickly, but I think he's ripe for an upset.

Also, Kalib is likely to stop any of the MW's.
-
I'm guessing that they use the first half of tonights episodes to set up the semifinals, and the 2nd half for the 1st MW final. Then, next week will be the 2nd MW bout, and the week after the 2 LHW semifinals. Or, if both divisions have their bouts go quickly, they could spend all of tonight doing hype for the bouts, and the next 2 weeks having 2 fights each.

There have been fixed and/or worked fights in PRIDE before, but that happens in just about every MMA org, regardless of organized crime influence.

Jamal Patterson is one of the best prospects out there, and I expect the UFC to snatch him up soon. They should also look into soon-to-be KOP Poai Suganuma. -
Outside of the loss to Hominick, his big wins over Thomson & Franca don't mean as much as they once did. He's also a pretty lackadaisical bastard much of the time, so he's pretty expendable.
-
Tank was cool until he tripped over his own feet and got choked by Tom Selleck's doppleganger.
-
Typical athletic Euro striker with a nothing special ground game. He should outstrike Aldana badly, unless Gilbert decides to bullrush him to the ground and unleash some hellish G&P before he gasses hard.
-
Well, the nickname and him being sold in the media as such was part of "slick advertising" I mentioned. Besides, he was an easier sell than a frail-looking Brazilian who fought in his pajamas or an over-the-hill, never-was wrestler with bad knees and a gay moustache.

I find that most people who don't realize Ken is a chode tend to be incredibly stupid rednecks and/or females. Oh, and fags who love his physique.
-
Ken was an American who "looked like a fighter" and was more skilled than most of the tards fighting in MMA back then. Add some slick advertising & a stint in the WWF and you have overrated egomaniac who is somehow considered relavent in modern MMA.
-
See, the Fertittas know well enough to never talk about "this thing."

Lose to Ray Austin. "Valuev already beat Beck back when his name was Clifford Etienne." -Tam

Actually, Gono & Kang were supposed to be matched up before, so switch it to Gono/Kang & Suloev/Chonan. Then again, it's a toss up between Gono and Misaki as to which one gets the pass into the semis against Mousasi.
-
Then I suggest you take the sig down.
-
Too bad "Run-of-the-Mill Canadian" isn't nearly as marketable as "Displaced Korean Warrior." Oh, and Kang's still overrated and not Top 15.
-
Kang's roid spaz during his post-fight comments was funny, though sad when thinking of YPOV crying into his pillow, then funny again when I realized he picked Baroni to blow Misaki out of the water.
-
So would anyone like to argue that GRABAKA & T-BLOOD don't fucking own? Bring it, son.

Not PPV worthy, IMO, even though I really look forward to the beating Paulie will recieve.

What UFC fighters have the most potential???
Lei Tong replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
I dunno about melvin. He already has tons of fights, so while he's still young, I think it'll be hard for him to progress further than he has. As is, he's an amazing athlete with some good takedowns, but his stand-up is pretty unrefined, and he's succeptable to submissions, even when on top. -
Not gonna disagree with you there, but of course he's not a TUF alumnus. He probably would've torn through the heavyweights if he was. UFC actually pushed very hard for Brandon to be part of the TUF 2 HW cast, but he didn't like a number of things in the contract for contestants and winners, and knew he would be in the UFC on his own merits anyways.
