If Miller plays the "He's so/too/retardedly strong!" whiner card, I'll be mighty disappointed. -

He was inked to fight Anderson after beating Tanner, IIRC, but got injured. Dana claimed he would get a shot after beating Lister, but now it looks like they're hoping Miller can upset him and get him out of the picture. -

Talking to Breen again, and he's brought up a lot of interesting points about the viability of the UFC exploring the Korean market (GOOD IDEA) versus their hard-on to make their brand work in Japan (BAD IDEA). His article is a great jumping off point: http://www.sherdog.com/news/articles/ufcs-...an-market-16345 -Jordan Breen -

Fucking bullshit that Okami needs to fight yet again before getting a title shot, and especially with a dangerous-yet-unestablished guy like Miller. On the other hand, I love Miller, and this is a great chance for him to really leap frog into title contention. In the end, though, I think it's too soon for Dan, as he'll be fighting the epitome of the powerful wrestler stereotype that has given him the most trouble thus far in his career. -
I'm an uncut savage with a penis shaped like an Indian gunstock club and a hairy pair of old man balls.

If this were a movie and Herring were the protagonist, it would be a snuff film featured in Videodrome. -

I never really got an answer about that in the other thread: Did the audience actually buy that? Or did they turn on the whole thing seeing those pathetic punches? -

For all the shit I've ever given him, Herring is, if nothing else, foolishly brave and retardedly tough. -

This will make Lesnar/Herring look like a tickle fight. Cain is going to hurt Heath something awful. -
Politician R. "Budd" Dwyer killing himself on live television. Bonus points for anyone who can find a gif of Malevo Ferreyra offing himself.

Again, it's a cultural thing. The article is largely about African-American fighters (the phrase being used a few times), and how they allow North American blacks to relate to the fighters in the cage/ring. Regarding someone like Kongo, I don't think your average African-American feels much kinship with blacks still living in Africa, or in this case, a French black man. -

Generally speaking, even the blackest of Latin guys will identify as Latin more than as a black guy. Cultural identity > skin color, I suppose. -

I gave up on Maynard when he disappointed me against Siver, then turned on him totally when he beat Edgar.

It was, though he managed to expand on his article a good deal, with more examples of questionable stoppages, comparisons towards boxing and the nigh double standards with which ground strikes are viewed compared to standing strikes. -

For those of you not listening, Breen is giving an awesome analysis of the nature of stoppages in MMA, especially in light of what occurred in the UFC this past weekend.
