Rampage Jackson Vs. Chuck Liddell....
Lei Tong replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Liddell def. Quinton via KO, 0:12 Rd. 1 -
Anyone still on the Snoreman bandwagon?
-
Boring fight as expected. At least Gonzaga/Jordan had a good first round, and a highlight reel finish. Of course, I hate both guys, so I can't say it would upset me for the fans to shit all over the fight.

My bad. Terrell ADD'ed his way into two takedowns, but Evan isn't Osami Sibuya, so stood back up within a couple seconds of each.
-
He didn't, and showed why you don't force a guillotine that isn't there.

Since probably only YPOV knows this story...

Evan's probably going to stay near the bottom of the Top 10. He's a jack of all trades (though his striking still leaves a little something to be desired), so could arguably give anyone a run for their money, but not being overpowering in any one area (and a questionable chin) makes it unlikely he'll ever be king shit. -
Besides, Tito has never eaten a kid's onion rings and then refused to give him an autograph afterwards. Forrest = mega heel
-
The "new" Tito is closer to what most people see when they meet him in person (list me as one who says he's by far the friendliest and down to earth fighter I've met), as opposed to what he's shown in public in the past. He probably realized his controversial, shit-talking persona wasn't cutting it anymore, and is now just concentrating more on turning the babyface'ness up to 11, while still taking time to make Ken miserable with juvenile remarks.
-
Come now, let's not have a lover's tiff.
-
Ken still has the best MW's by far. I'd go so far as to say Tito has no "sure thing" match-ups at that weight. However, now that Forbes got exposed for having no submission awareness and Kristian still a question mark, Tito looks to have the LHW advantage.

Jesse has tardface.

RRR is the Fedor nuthugger, and I doubt any simulator out there would let me put together a submission wrestling triple threat match between Baret, Rany & Leozhino.
-
My elitism wouldn't allow me to stomach the stupidity of thinking that Arlovski would get swept by Sylvia.
-
Using elbows instead of actually... I dunno, DEFENDING a fucking keylock sounds exactly like something Sylvia would do.

Ever since Inoki Office closed up shop, PRIDE's been dying to get Fujita back in the mix, seeing as how he's the only Japanse HW left in the world worth half a shit, outside of TK's slowly rotting corpse. -
Well I would agree with you but after seeing how easy it was for Hoger to just keep his guard as tight as possible to force a standup without any consequences, I'm pretty sure Silva could do the same. edit: Is an upkick from the guard to an opponent's head considered kicking a downed opponent? Franklin > Rashad. Common. Also, an upkick to an opponent's head is illegal if they are either on both knees, 3 points, etc. In other words, pretty much the same as if the kicker was standing above them throwing soccer kicks. Ricardo Almeida was DQ'ed for doing the same thing in the UFC against Matt Lindland.

Sakurai didn't dominate him on the ground (and in fact was later in troulbe there), but did manage to win the first round with a good Judo throw and G&P. Also, I don't see Anderson as being gifted enough defensively on the ground to keep Rich from laying some hurt down. Outside of being able to regain and keep a closed guard, Anderson offers little from his back.
-
The Chonan and Takase subs kind of came out of nowhere. Well ok, the triangle Takase got him in was just a normal triangle that he rolled into but all I've seen from Franklin is the ability to do an armbar. I'm pretty sure Franklin wouldn't be able to submit Silva. Silva sucks balls on the ground, and has throughout his career. Azaredo, Sakurai, Kato, Newton, Takase, & Chonan all gave him problems there. The last competent ground fighter that Anderson beat was Jeremy Horn, who managed to injure himself shooting a takedown. For as good a boxer and kickboxer that he is, Anderson's ability on the ground seems inversely proportional. Outside of him landing a clean right straight as Rich comes in, Anderson gets controlled for a couple of rounds until Rich mounts, and Anderson either gives up an arm or his back.

From http://www.cityboxing.com/trainers/Tyrone_Glover.asp: Unfortunately, like every other PRIDE Audition winner, Tyrone is currently in purgatory, and will likely be spending the next few years doing fuck all in DEEP as far as MMA in concerned. As far as his fighting skills go, he's obviously a good grappler who loves leglocks, though he has a well rounded submission arsenal. His wrestling is decent, if nothing special, and his striking game is unknown to me at this point. Thomas was a good early win for him, though he really needs to stay active if he hopes to develop his MMA game.

Sylvia never beat, or even fought Pedro Rizzo. His best win to this date remains an in-shape Ricco Rodriguez.

Hopefully David got a clue and was talking to Marquardt's manager backstage.

Double post.
