The Upcoming Shows/Rumored Fights Thread
Lei Tong replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
I kid. Anyway, I'm in no rush to see Kenny get beaten on, which I think will happen, though I agree that the time he's already had to wait for the fight should have been more than enough. -

Your sexuality is in question right now. -
I don't think placing weigh-ins on the day of the fight would actually curb weight cutting as much as you'd think. You'd just end up with guys cutting not quite as much weight, but showing up to a fight that much more drained from dehydrating themselves. A lot of fighters will generally risk personal safety as a cost of winning; I mean, they're fighters.

He doesn't have average BJJ. He has some of the best grappling for MMA, he doesn't need an elite wrestling pedigree. Right and wrong. His BJJ is definitely very good, especially his scrambling, but it's easy to forget that the dude hasn't submitted anyone in FOREVER, and his G&P isn't on the level where's he's going to be punishing high level fighters within moments on the mat. And then there's his wrestling, which still hasn't involved far beyond shitty bull-charges that have always been and will continue to be stuffed by good wrestlers. Minus the cardio to keep hurling himself at his opponents no matter how often he fails to take them down or lock a submission, he becomes a very average attrition fighter.

Am I missing how Edgar is somehow not on Diego's level? Even at his best, Diego's wrestling is nowhere near Edgar's, and Frankie's also a far superior technical boxer. It's simply a terrible style-match-up for Diego, regardless of disparity in experience.
-
If nothing else, Guida would at least force Diego to exert himself, and not simply stand around, grinning like a homosexual elf while getting outboxed.
-
Edgar would box circles around Diego, and is also one on the division's betters wrestlers. No way Diego beats him with how he looked. Though I agree with the rest of your points. The notion that fighting at the lowest possible weight class you can torture your body into is always for the best is flawed.
-
Diego's wrestling isn't getting any better, and unless he plans on outstriking guys for 15 minutes with his T-Rex arms and hoping no one realizes he still doesn't defend leg kicks, he'd best hope that the cut doesn't affect his ability to otherwise go apeshit for 15 minutes. Minus the insane cardio, Diego is decidedly average.

Too drunk for a fool story right now, bute one more bouncing rule: if oy'ure stupid enough to get ko'ed by a bouncer, you deserve to get jacked. my best haull off a guy I knocked out was 120 dollars cash, a 100 dollar ell phone and a basebell hat. -
Middleweight is weak enough that it's arguable.

Sorry, EHME. My negro > your negro Jamal Patterson submitted Antwain Britt in about 30 seconds via guillotine choke tonight. Too bad Jamal's already so old and will never have a solid chin, but still a damn good win. -
I'd support it... if it were free. As is, I see little need to spend money on what amounts to a pair of recovery fights.

Gouveia may have a decent skill set, but that hardly matters when he can't handle pressure for shit. Any success he has is Nate's fault.

Puerto Ricans who happen to REALLY like Kelly Pavlik?

Cain's already become the biggest HW gym legend I've heard of since Harout Terzyan, except that you can actually find him in the gym, as opposed to going to Vegas, doing blow and hooking up with a skanky bitches. -

Cain murders Nog right now. I fail to see how this is even a question given Nog's UFC run thus far. -

ATTN: Cnadians RE: MFC 20 you suck -
Breidis Prescott wns via DQ after being bitten by Humberto Toledo. You don't see that everyday.

The ridiculous amount of slow-mo should have been expected considering it seemed like 300 was in slow-mo 30% of the time.
-
Man, I was going to ask if you wanted to hang out by the quarry and throw things down there, but now you're weirding me out.
-
Even considering the guys who haven't tested positive or missed weight, the sheer numbers of guys from that camp who have done one or the other (Alves, Gandulla, Fiorivanti, Silva, Gouveia, etc.),multiple times in some cases, is ridiculous.
-
I eagerly await the day when it will no longer be a surprise that ATT fighters can make weight and not test positive for something or other.
